these people are terrible and have no sense of ethical business! my bf brought in his jeep bc it wasn't driving normal. it sat there for 2 hours and then they insisted on keeping it another day. little did we know that is how they loop you in to rip you off bc at this point they hold your car hostage unless you pay a $150 diagnostic fee he never ever wouldv'e consented to! swtich and bait. he needed a new alternator and they priced him A $900 for an alternator!?! turns out that they were saying that had to remove and refill the AC etc.. and when he said no way can i pay that @$900 we dont have that kind of money they immediately didn't need to do the AC and dropped the price to @$700! at this point trust is breeched because they originally just said we had to remove the AC to install it and the do not credit the $150 diagnostic (that he never agreed to ) towards the new $700 bill that he was quoted (which he would never pay!!! ) they held his car hostage and refused to release it unless he paid the money that they extorted from him and he never signed. they kept saying that they made a 'verbal agreement' but when we asked for paperwork that he signed saying he consented to the diagnostic they had nothing and kept saying verbal agreement! highway robbery. then we called TNT automotive they came right to him, quickly installed the alternator and gave him an awesome honest fair deal , and the whole job including parts was @$320!!! done in an hour. the kicker being that TNT told us that they would've credited us their diagnostic towards the bill! worst customer service at rogue automotive ever and when he went in to confront him about never signing anything for the $150 diagnostic they refused to take any accountability and threatened to call the cops. gaslighting after exploiting people for money. rogue automotive are crooks. read more

4weeks ago I had my truck towed there. Josh was ok and at this point my truck started right up. This was a Monday and I was told it would be Wednesday before they could look at it. I called Friday. He told me what it was and parts were ordered. Fast forward two weeks. Josh hadn't even called in 2 weeks so I call once agai. Now he says I need another par, it's ordered and overnighted. It's now 11 days later and I can't even call as they won't answer. It's the ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Josh is a waste of air. Josh has no integrity. Josh is a piece of dung. They told me everything that needed to be done right away and parts were also available asap. I will not go anyone other automotive shop. Take your vehicles to the best in the valley. This review is about their customer service, not their knowledge as mechanics I got into a car accident, Rogue said they could repair the intercooler on my CRV and assured me that they were "in network" with my insurance company despite not being on the short list of recommended shops. He even said they had a direct phone line to access my claim. I decided to use Rogue. I don't want to pester them with phone calls, but after 3 weeks I had heard no updates so I decided to call. They hadn't even submitted my estimate yet. And weren't even in touch with the claims department. Fine, let's move on and just get this thing rolling. NOPE. More errors submitting the proper parts, more issues by trying to order new parts that I would have to pay for out-of-pocket when I had requested no additional charges beyond the deductible. Then, after all this got sorted - more than 2 MONTHS after I dropped the car off...it's fixed but needs a new battery. And they were unable to find a battery for the car after a day so I went to Auto Zone MYSELF and installed the battery in their parking lot as Rogue Auto was closing side by side with the mechanic. He was 100% ready to tell me to come back in another 3 days after the long weekend because he couldn't be bothered to source a battery. He might know a lot about cars, but he does not care AT ALL about how long you will be without your vehicle. 9 WEEKS! read more

my poor mother went into this place alone, her brake lights haven't been turning off and she needed an oil change, they drove her car 20 miles and came back not fixing the problem. They made her pay 290$ ultimately for an oil change and no conclusion to the other problems she's having. This is absolutely ridiculous, the quality of service seems to becoming very selfish and greedy since they have recently been gaining more customers. On top of it they didn't compensate the gas they used to drive 20 miles, not diagnosing the car. We will not be coming back. Do better. I would put 0 stars if I could. read more

However, if you're stuck in the middle of driving from So Cal to Spokane and need a repair, *RUN DON'T WALK* as fast as possible away from Buddy Packard, Rogue Auto owner, and Josh, the most unethical, parasitic mechanic I've ever experienced in my 60 years of car ownership. Here's an excerpt from our email thread below: Josh - It's a shame the way our conversation devolved last evening. I truly despise people that take advantage of innocent or helpless people. I believe this is what you and Rogue Automotive is doing to my 21 year old college student son, after being stranded in Medford Oregon on December 31. You ran a diagonstic which, in all my years of owning cars, has never cost me $135. To this point, this is after you told me our bill was almost double that. When I asked if you ever got my son's approval or signature on the diagnostic or the 'additional fees' you reduced the price to what it is today (you've sent the invoice). On January 3, we spoke about the car's issues and you told me it would cost $8,800 to fix. I was incredulous because the 2008 Subaru Outback isn't worth 1/3 of this price. I spent holiday hours/days trying to figure out how to afford to pay this fee, buy a new engine to get my son back to college when dorms opened over this past weekend and he could get the car's title. Your stance on the car's status yesterday changed three times: Call #1: I told you I would drive up to pickup my son's belongings, pay the bloated diagnostic charges of $212 but couldn't get there until 1/27. You agreed. Call #2: I called to understand how one diagnostic could cost $212, This is when you explained there was extra work involved. When I asked if you checked with my son before doing the work, you backed down and returned the price to $135. Call #3: You called very upset and demanded that I get the car by this Thursday or you would charge us $55 a day plus the diagnostic charge.I explained that I cannot get up there before 1/27 and you said that the storage fees would apply. After this upsetting call, I spoke to my son and determined that the car, his belongings and your abusive, parasitic communication with me must end. I emailed (in this tread) that the car and its belongings were not worth the cost and effort for us to collect. I told you that I am relinquishing the car to you and that it is yours to do with what you will. I told you I would not send the title which was wrong. In order to extricate ourselves from your disgusting, unprofessional company, my son will be sending his car's title today or tomorrow by registered mail with a signature because clearly you and your company have no ethics. We do. And so we will send the title and you can have B and R Auto pickup the car. I've already spoken to them and they're willing to pay $250 for the car. This plus the value of my son's belonging of $2,000 will cover our $135 balance. Dave had a issue following through with the promises he made when my car wasn't done correctly. I wouldn't have known if he hadn't mentioned it to me. Lol! When returning to get it fixed, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and made up a big story trying to make me look like I'm crazy. It really upset me and I let him know. How can you do that to customer that just paid you his bill and then wasn't available to let you pick it up..So there not there but they charged 100buckx a day .so they charged me for two day's that they weren't available to pickup..parked it on the street held the keys so I couldn't have anyone pick it up. On our way from SF Bay Area to Portland and overheated on I5. Car made it to Medford and next day, looked up Yelp for recommendations for a repair shop. Rogue Automotive came up and called them. Next, had to locate a rental car to continue trip and wow, Enterprise Car Rental less than a block away. Left the car with Josh and left for Portland. They did a eval on the car and inform us that it will be at least two weeks before the will be repaired due to machine shop backlog. They gave a fantastic referral, TK Transport, to bring the car home. They didn't repair the car but: honest in time for work and great referral. If I live in Medford, this is the shop I would sent my cars to. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had. The are all about smoke and mirrors. Tried to get ac fixed and they had my truck for almost 4 months. I was quoted a price to complete the project and every week would receive a phone call telling me the price was increasing. By the time the cost doubled and the truck sat there for three months I told them to replace the old parts and then I would pick up my vehicle. No one even apologized or even cared. Had an oil leak caused by Oil Stop on Lozier and Rouge Automotive fixed oil leak. Took car home an received a transmission leak. Took car back to see what was up an Oil Stop told I always had A transmission leak.. Never had A transmission leak, my drive way is proof.. So Rouge Automotive charges me $58 and sends me on my way, without a estimate to fix leak. Use your own judgment. read more

It was a great rescue. Thanks so much for saving us. Medford, OR is the mid-point between Seattle and San Francisco. I was on my way back to home after a few days of road trip to Seattle. So Medford was the place I had to stay a night before continuing I-5. My car is a Tesla Model S, and I didn't know my car was in trouble with the wheel alignment when I was coming down from Seattle to Medford. With a wrong alignment, you can't get the braking effect of re-generating electricity during a down-hill. So I had to use the foot brake, and I realized the front brake pad was eventually worn out and the severe vibration feared me a lot when I applied the foot brake. I managed to arrive Medford with a lot of cautions, but I was in front of Shasta mountain which has steeper and longer downhills than the ones I had had so far. So I frantically searched the town for Tesla brake pad. I was so lucky to contact 'Rogue Automotive', she could search around with all she could do even though the brake is 'dealer item' and was able to locate the brake for us. But unfortunately, they didn't have the rotor, so they ordered one to have it the first thing next morning. So I had to spend one more night, but definitely worth one more stay. I could have my car ready next day morning together with wheel alignment fix. I could happily drive down the long and steep downhills between Oregon and California with both re-generating braking and smooth foot braking which was seldom needed because the strong re-generating braking was in full function. It should have been very dangerous and scary driving with so violent shaking of foot braking, which had been luckily avoided by 'Rogue Automotive's great service and intended helping efforts. I wouldn't give them more than 3 stars on a good day. The most lacking is their detail shop - you can get the same job done at the carwash detail for under $100 - here it's nearly $300. They especially need to learn how to buff a car! When I had some repair work, they said they reviewed the whole care and fixed what was wrong - I then had to take it to another shop for the repairs. Over the Christmas holiday while visiting family in Southern Oregon our Honda Odyssey broke down. On Christmas morning the car needed to be jumped and once started it made weird noises. My husband, myself and our two small children planned to travel back to Oakland, Ca. the next morning. Not being familiar with any mechanics in the area we blindly called Rogue Automotive after searching the web. They cheerfully answered the phone and said they would be happy to look at our vehicle. Once there I left the car for diagnosis. A few hours later Amie called to tell us they thought it could be the transmission. This sent me into a tail spin. I began searching for a new vehicle in the Oregon area as replacing a transmission on an older vehicle was going to be too costly. Amie said she wanted the mechanic to look further and an hour later she called and said it was actually only the alternator and a new battery that was needed. She searched all over and had the alternator that day. Rogue's mechanics worked late into the day and I was able to pick up our vehicle that very night. The next morning we we're on the road back to California. I can't thank the staff at Rogue enough.They went the extra mile and did it with a smile. I only wish Rogue was our regular shop. OH MY GOD- What?!?! This as a real review from an employee at SOU who is sitting in this automotive waiting room with my jaw on the floor. They are not charging me a cent and they are fixing everything. I recently hit a cardboard box on the highway and I (purple) duct taped up my engine splash guard that was dragging and damaged. I'd originally ordered another plastic part online and planned to do it myself when I realized it was above my skill level and hard to reach. Turns out I ordered the wrong part. These kind souls fixed my old part rather then drill holes to accommodate my Online purchase (so I can return it and get my money back). They just asked me if I'm willing to wait 20 min so they can remove all that tape residue from my bumper. I'm someone happy to say the good, the bad and the ugly things that need to be said- I'm a therapist. We have been customers of Amy and Buddy for three years now. We have had personal vehicles and business vehicles serviced and detailed at Rogue Automotive. Today I experienced the worst customer service I have ever had from a business. There is no excuse that Dave should be employed in any area that involves customer service. Since I called him over a week ago he acted as if he was doing me a favor by taking my business. He even told me today that they were busy enough they don't care. We were scheduled to bring in three vehicles one a day for three days. Each vehicle was to get detailed, oil change and A/C check. We did the exact same thing last year around this same time. Last year It worked out great. The vans were very clean and Shawn who no longer works there would come out and walk me around each van to make sure it looked good when I picked them up. This time there was just a simple key exchange and I was sent on my way. Upon inspection of the first van when I picked it up I noticed the outside looked about the same as when I dropped it off. I went back in and asked if it would save them time and me money if they just did the inside. I was told they had to do both. I didn't stress it. Instead I drove the freshly "detailed van" through the car wash. The second van I picked up was even worse. As shown in the pictures the windshield was filthy inside and out, the dash looked like it had been wiped with a dirty cloth, the driver side door had dirt in the door handle and the outside had a number of missed spots. Amy asked if I was going to leave the third van as scheduled and I said I could if they would get it done today. Since it was a Friday we could not afford to leave it over the weekend. She said no problem they would call when It was ready to be picked up. Dave called around 4pm and said the van was ready to be picked up and that they don't have time to change the oil. I was surprised to hear that and assumed it was because they were closing soon. He said they would be open for another couple of hours but recommended I take it else where to get the oil changed. This made me worried that something was wrong. When I asked if there was an issue with the van he got very defensive and upset. I was busy at the time so I told him I would be in to pick up the van as soon as possible. When we arrived the van was sitting outside the shop so I told one of our employees he could grab the van and get back to work. I went inside to pay and talk to Buddy and Amy about my disappointment in their service. While standing inside to pay I watched Buddy run out and yell at my employee for getting in my van. He made him get out of the van and parked it back where it was. They then made us sit there for 20 minutes before they would move it 15 feet turn it off and handed the keys over. My employee was then able to take the van and go back to work. I still had to sit there for another 15 minutes while they got my "paperwork ready" even though I was told it was ready two hours before. I calmly paid when I finally got the chance and I asked to speak to Buddy or Amy. Dave asked me to come outside where he explained to me that Buddy did not want to talk to me because I had accused him of doing something to my van. Dave was referring to when I asked if there was something wrong with the van when they said they didn't change the oil and recommended I take it elsewhere. I explained that as a business owner I would prefer to share my experience with Buddy then have to leave a review. He then accused me of "blackmail". I did not understand his thinking since I had already paid and just wanted to share my experience with the owner. Dave then told me to "get out of here" he also said that he would make sure he would not use our business. Well Dave I will not lose sleep over that. Prior to this experience we had already decided we would not be using Rogue Automotive for any major repairs. Last year around this time we brought in one of the vans because it was running very rough. Rogue Auto told us it was the transmission and they could rebuild or replace it for a couple of thousand dollars. When I see estimates that high I get a second opinion. So I took the same van to Dusty's to get a second opinion. Dusty's said it was not the tranny and recommended we take it to another shop. The other shop traced the issue to a bad Catalytic converter and for less than $1000 we had a strong running rig again. If I had listened to Rogue Auto I would have spent thousands on a tranny and still had a junk rig. I am very disappointed in the decline in Rogue Automotive & It's all about the details. When you can't handle a simple detail and oil change it is probably time to look for a new line of work. read more

Rogue Automotive, Amy and Dave saved our asses in the middle of getting to Portland from Los Angeles during the craziest fire season the West Coast has seen. Yesterday, my beloved Toyota Prius overheated on the 5 as it was being shut down due to wildfire- 2 hours before close of business. Took us an hour to get to the shop (driving super slow and refilling the coolant tank with water after waiting a bit for tow services). We arrived an hour before closing and didn't know if we could no eat any help at all because it was so close- but Dave and Amy were so damn kind. They and the Rogue tech team managed find the problem (unplugged radiator fans), helped us relax during the process (we were so darn anxious after driving through 2 states with wildfires) and never cheated us for a second. After plugging in the fans, checking the pressure and filling up the coolant, my Prius was ready to go. I was only charged $58 for this- something my (probably soon to be former) dealership probably would have charged 2-3 times over to remedy. Being that they might have been the ones to screw this up to begin with (they're the only ones to have been under the hood other than myself- and I only did so to jump the car battery), safe to say I trust Rogue with my beloved car moreso than I'd trust the dealership now. I live in Crescent City, so called Rogue Automotive to try to coordinate a time I could leave car with them. I was traveling home for the week of Christmas, so asked if they could service the car that week (instead of parking at the airport). Dave was super helpful and accommodating, made a plan with me to drop car off. Communication wasn't great while my car was at Rogue Automotive. I did drop it off Saturday morning but did not get a call with updates until the following Friday. All services were performed that day. Dave did thoroughly answer questions and explain his recommendations. I think I was somewhat overcharged, but happy with services.
