Where do I start?…read more Our experience at Paso Robles Pastures was super fun and made for a memorable time! Our family often goes horse back riding on our local California road trip adventures and this particular experience was by far the best. Often times we have observed our riding guides to have a somewhat tough, rugged demeanor, which is expected of cowboys and cowgirls in order to have a strong command over their horses (and the group they're guiding!). This time, our guide Kayla was so sweet and warm to both the kids and horses alike, and our time with her, although unexpected, really made for an enjoyable experience. Our reservation inquiry over text was answered quickly, and we were accommodated on the same day (not sure if this is standard or unusual for this establishment). I texted back and forth with Vanessa who provided clear directions and detailed payment information. Another positive note was that Paso Robles Pastures also offers riding opportunities for younger riders, 8 years and under. Often times our youngest child has to stay behind but this time he was able to enjoy a ride as well. It was my husbands very first time riding and she put him on the sweetest mare Maple who took great care of him. I have years of riding experience but it's been a decade since I had ridden but Belle was perfect for my riding abilities. It was the perfect weather and the best experience ever if you've never ridden, or been riding your whole life! Before we even got off our horses my husband was already asking me when we can go back. 10/10 definitely will be coming back for years to come

The ride even included a gallop- yippee! Instructions were also provided along the trail by both Tara and her assistant Cloie. The views were amazing. After we were welcomed to pet the mules and 2 baby clysdales. When the saddles were taken off the horses, it was so cute to watch them actually walk themselves back to their corral. A beautiful place, run by a thoughtful and smart lady and family. Go for a ride. There's a dirt road so don't wash your car before you go!

Victoria made us feel comfortable right away, took the time to explain the ride, with safety paramount, so we felt confident before heading out. We have done other trail rides in the county. This is a unique trail ride with varying terrain and views you will not find anywhere else . Victoria led us through some of the most beautiful trails near Santa Margarita Lake. The scenery was incredible, with gorgeous lake views, peaceful trails, and wildlife along the way. It felt like the perfect mix of adventure, nature, and relaxation. They also have goats, and they were absolutely adorable! Victoria and John clearly care about their animals and their guests, and it shows in every part of the experience. For services they are already booked on she even give me other business around the area. She was very informative on how we can maximize the fun by preparing some carrots for the horses and we were very glad we did. The absolute highlight of the trip was our random encounter with their horses and was able to have a blast when we feed them the carrots. John our guide was a gentleman and took care of the whole crew during the guide and showed us his wonderful ranch. As animal lovers we were really impressed their horses were allowed to roam freely in their ranch and the horses looked very happy and well taken care of. I was able to book a reservation via phone/text although it took a few days for them to get back to me. The horses were all very gentle and well-trained, so it was great for beginners like us. The trail was very peaceful, with a little bit of up and downhill slopes. The ride itself was a little less than an hour and our trail guides were super friendly, checking in on us often and making sure we stayed in a line. The only thing is I wish they gave us some time at the end to take photos of us while we were on the horses but it's okay; we were able to take photos with the horses after we got off. Overall, it was a wonderful horseback riding experience for the price ($75/person) and I already want to go again!
