Warm peach pie with peach ice cream.
    Lorena R.

Stopped in for some peaches and plums. They have various selection of baskets priced according to size. There is also an option to buy "by the pound". We went inside and were hit with the scent of fresh baked peach pie. Of course we had to try some! Pie & cobbler is sold by the slice and by the pie. We had one slice of each both topped with fresh in-house made peach ice cream. They both exceptionally good, served warmed and paired wonderfully with the peach ice cream. You could tell the desserts were fresh made and not frozen or reheated. The only down side is there is no indoor or outdoor seating nor are there any restrooms. There are 2 benches outside the entrance where you can sit down to eat your pie. This is definitely a pop in & out kind of place, not a sit & stay place. All the employees we encountered were very friendly. Stop in for a delicious sweet treat!

It smells like heaven as you walk inside the fresh baked bread laced with aromas of cinnamon and peach are just incredible..there is no better smell than that. The peach cobbler is on the cakey side..prefer more peach less cake and more of a dumpling texture the ice cream a bit too sweet for my preferences ..prefer a creamy custard over sweet but was a nice tasty treat.

Really wanting to dig into that warm bread. The ice cream really hit the spot!

Fantastic peach ice cream--long on peaches and short on cream. Charming spot with friendly staff. The pies smelled delicious. Next time.

There were adults and children all enjoying themselves. On the tractor ride back to the main building, there was a little one that was covered head to toe in strawberry juice! You could tell he enjoyed himself immensely! He was adorable!! Even though they ask people not to eat the strawberries while picking, I don't blame this little guy for sampling some. They are sweet, juicy and delicious!! Can't wait to go back during peach season to pick peaches!!! There are so many things to do for little ones too! Big inflated jumping trampoline area and water slides (too cold right now for that right now, though I'm sure during the summer it's a big hit!) Do yourself a favor and eat at Leroy's Tex Mex BBQ too!!

A little disappointed that we weren't able to do the pick your own option but strawberry season had just ended and there were no options for peach picking the Saturday that we went out. Picked up some peaches to take home with us though and they are divine!

We stopped at Studebakers's Farm Stand for a couple reasons. First it wasn't a large brick and mortar and second the focus was peaches ! It is a medium size building-a barn type structure with multiple wooden fruit stands inside. The peaches are beautifully displayed in baskets of varying sizes, the size determines the price. The young lady who assisted me was very nice and helpful too! (Despite the fact that it was 103' outside-the structure provided shade but it was still quite hot!-my temperament changes a bit when I have to be out in that oppressive heat!) Before I go on-imagine how a perfectly shaped peach, at the height of ripeness smells....that heavenly pure peach smell was so intoxicating and it was the first thing I noticed upon entering the fruit stand!! Believe me, I had to practice severe restraint not to get several bushels because I could easily imagine making Peach Pie, Peach Cobbler and Peach Jam....maybe even Peach Ice Cream ....I regress! I advised I was looking for a peach that's best eaten from the hand...(they are a very low calorie option) and I asked if she could make a recommendation. She said they offered six varieties and she recommended two that were touted for their sweetness. I chose a beautiful basket of a golden peach variety-sadly I forgot to photograph them in the basket as I was one of only two customers so she was able to quickly but carefully place them in a brown paper bag and complete our transaction. I'm adding a photo of them on my drying rack-we had already eaten three prior to snapping the pic. I can't even remember the last time I tasted such an incredibly delicious peach. Bite after bite-the perfect taste of ripeness as if I had plucked it directly from the tree, just firm enough so I was able to eat it easily while avoiding making a sticky mess, yet so juicy bite after bite. Honestly I was truly amazed at the flavor. If you are near Fredericksburg, I would highly recommend you stop. They have peaches pretty much thru September. You'll need to be on the lookout. It sits back just a bit from Highway 290-as you come in from Austin it will be on your left about 7 miles before you reach downtown Fredericksburg. Enjoy !
