This remains one of my favorite spots in Fredericksburg! Great food, the nicest people and cool foodie items! Quaint eat-in area with lots of parking. My secret spot is not a secret anymore and I'm ok with that!

I came here last Sunday on the way to Bankersmith. The exterior of this location is quite charming and is reminiscent of a side of the road vendor that sells goods like pecans and peaches. The location offers fresh local items but what we purchased (which was one sandwich) was not fresh nor farm to market. When I ordered the sandwich, the young gentleman who gave it to me took it from what appeared to be a mini fridge underneath the counter and handed it to me in a plastic container. Not only was this sandwich not fresh, it was also expensive but what isn't in this area? As this location is connected to a gas station, one in theory could purchase a packaged sandwich from the gas station for a fraction of the price and be just as satisfied.

Amazing food, service and variety of fresh vegetables and food! Go inside and try one of their paninis. You won't regret it.

Great sandwiches and fresh salads! Plus fresh fruit and veggies. It's small but food speaks for itself! If you're looking for a quick bite and don't wanna just get gas station snacks. Give this place a try! Gas station is right next door.

Delicious "Rise and Shine" breakfast sandwich.

Usually I love it when stores offer samples because it's easy for me to weed out the things that I thought I might have wanted, but then didn't enjoy. At Lock Stock & Barrel, it's damning, because each item tastes better than the last and I start filling my arms with more than I can carry! If you're not careful, you will spend a fortune in here... But if you are careful, where's the joy? The only suggestion I have for this place is that they start carrying their shirts in larger sizes. In addition to the syrups and honey and dips in my arms, there was also a shirt I wanted to pile on the top of my haul but I had to forgo that one because their largest size was a medium :( Definitely bring your tastebuds and your sense of adventure and of course your wallet and have a great time here!

My husband and I decided to buy some of their jams. As we checked out the person that worked behind the counter was friendly. Overall Lock Stock & Barrel is a store that has a variety of local and specialty foods with friendly people that work there.

We usually go up to Fredericksburg to go to Augusta Vin for a tasting. She was a little disappointed when I pulled into Eckhardt Orchards. I'm not a fan of cling peaches. I was excited to see the Harvester freestone peaches were available. They are definitely a larger peach. They also have a lot of other produce available, but the target was peaches this time. It's always nice and breezy here. So I bought some Harvester peaches with the intent of making a peach crisp. Skins on for me. My wife and I tasted the peaches that I was cutting up. I have to say, some of the best peaches we have tasted. Intense peach flavor. I made the peach crisp and our guests remarked about the intense peach flavor. Their store on 87, outside of Fredericksburg proper is a 25 minute drive from our house in the hill country. We do this every weekend during peach season - from mid-May to mid - September. There is nothing like eating fresh peaches from Fredericksburg and Eckhardt has been providing great peaches from their peach orchard. From the clingstone varieties in May until the freestone varieties in June, July and August, their peaches are top notch. Also, they sell cantaloupes, squashes, tomatoes and other vegetables in season. The watermelons are big and juicy. I believe they get them from other farms in the valley. If you want to have an adventure, drive to their store in Fredericksburg and enjoy. They have the friendliest folks working there and will help you with any questions. If you ask, they will carry what you bought to your vehicle! I just love going there every weekend or any chance I get to buy fresh peaches!

At that time, there was nothing going on and nothing growing so we decided to come back around when spring was happening. So this time around, definitely more popular, more cars and people wanting to check the place out. Essentially I was expecting this to be more of a field of flowers. But, it's basically that (although there wasn't much of it yet, just some flowers to see) and garden decor, pots, gifts, wine, pickled things, plants and LOTS of wildflower seeds to plant at home. The plants, some were decently priced, most were a little pricier. Just depends on which ones. Majority of the ones we wanted were a little better price wise vs going to home depot, at least we think so! We walked around the adventure trail (since it was free) to get some steps in and have the kids burn some of their energy out while roaming around (minus my toddler, she would want to run away and fast haha so I changed my mind on that idea). The trail itself was open, spacious and a great way to get some fresh air. You can be lucky enough to catch some glimpses of some flowers that could be sprouting out even though there's not much! The shops: they had different types of store fronts, one for food/snack/pickled items alongside a small cafe where you can order beer and wine, another for more accessories, clothing and some planting items too! They had standing wine tasting area near the trail walking area if you want to walk around with some wine. Parking: so much parking, so definitely not to worry although I can image it being more difficult when the flowers really bloom in their field.
