He provided a very reasonable price and quality work. He was responsive and easy to work with. The team did a thorough job prepping the area and making sure they were as clean as possible. They covered the ground/house and taped up all necessary areas nicely. A power wash of the entire house was done a couple days before painting. We also had a leak (last year) on one area of our roof which caused mold to form on some of the wood, but Sam was able to power wash and apply a chemical after to treat it. We bought the house several years ago with this beige/yellow paint and it wasn't our style, so it was nice to get what we wanted. Bad from start to finish. Warned about not protecting floor area. They dropped clumps of wall mud and it was spread throughout the house. I warned them again. Sure enough, we have spent hours cleaning the mud and paint residue on the hardwood floors throughout the job and still have not finished. I told him my standards were very high during the bidding stages and told him to bid accordingly. During bid I showed him specific areas of sub-par existing work not by his company and I wanted his work to be better. He agreed. There is over spray and paint drippings on the trim in places. He broke his word several times. We never called him back to fix the stuff because we had lost faith in his work and that of his sub-par workers. His over spray damaged a dimmer that had to be replaced. This really breaks our hearts. We have lost faith in the contractor community. read more

I am disappointed with the quality of work I received. My husband and I selected Sam over other quotes for many reasons including the reviews. Yes he is flexible and on time for the project, and for the most part responsive and professional, however, there are concerns with the quality of the work. There is no attention to detail. For walls that he said were finished, I pointed out several painting issues such as missed areas, paint bleed, primer showing. After the job was completed, I had to call him back the next day for touch ups because I kept finding issues including that our cabinet doors were put back upside down. To make it easier, I began to flag areas of concern and he only reviewed and touched up those specific areas. After he left, I examined the work and did not like the obvious layer difference. It was very noticeable that there was chip and the paint was touched up. Even worst, I found additional areas that needed a second coat. I had to text him for a second follow up because the paint was no adhering to the cabinet. This time he mentioned this would be the last time he would touch up. I was extremely disappointed in this response because my husband and I were rarely home, we don't utilize our kitchen often, and have no kids. It seemed as if we were being penalized as if we caused the paint chip. It took over a month to schedule a time for him to correct the painting errors. At this visit he had no explanation for the paint chipping and simply offered a refund. Now I have cabinets that I am nervous to take a plate from because one scarce creates a new chip. I also found a left over mask, painter tape pieces around my house. There didn't seem to be a thorough clean up. Lastly, I am very disappointed that our brand new stove has paint on it. Overall, if you need a paint job okay, but if you looking for real quality work, I wouldn't recommend. read more

Disappointed in Sam and Gold Painting. Sam came to our rental house and gave an estimate and seemed to be very detailed in the work that he would do. We had 4 other estimates and Sam was the highest but again he seemed very detailed. Once I told him we were getting new floors- bad idea, he sprayed everything. He did protect the kitchen cabinets. I will never hire a painter that pretty much sprays everything. This was totally my fault. I know how to paint but I'm getting up in age and things don't bend like they used to the thing that freaked me out was when his helper was spraying the inside and Sam was pressure washing the outside at same time. The inside had so many runs that I kind of let Sam have it. I also told Sam about over spray on toilets and concrete patio area and he nodded and told me he would take care of it. But he didn't. I basically paid him in full just to get rid of him. By myself and another painter the house looks pretty good. Remember this was a rental house if this was my personal home I would have had a heart attack. Long story short- I wouldn't recommend Gold Painting to anyone I know. I received Sam's contact info from a neighbor. He painted their house recently and I wanted to get a quote from Gold Painting. Sam came over the next day, no pressure to upsell and was very courteous. He asked a few questions and walked around the house with me. He said he would email me the quote for the work and follow up later that week. I received the quote the next day. It was very fair for all the work he was going to do. I accepted the quote and he stated it would be about 3 weeks out to get it painted and that was great. He called about 2 weeks later and wanted to get it started. He wanted to pressure wash the house on Sunday and come back on Tuesday to get it started. What a difference the power washing made, the house looked much better. On Tuesday he came and set up everything and began sanding and prepping. The next 2 days were painting and final touch ups. I was very pleased with the work he did. I added on a couple things to be painted and he got it done right away and looked great. Overall, very happy with the service and quality of the work.
