The crew was always on time, efficient and responsive to my requests and cleaned up well at the end of each work day. I also retained them to replace my damaged wood sidings and trims. Martin did a great job custom making wood panels for me as my residence is relatively old and no sidings matching the original ones were available in the market. They completed this job efficiently as well. I found this family owned business trustworthy and will continue recommending their services to friends and family.

They discovered things that weren't done properly and did their best to keep our costs down knowing that we were essentially paying twice to have the deck fixed. Jay came by and gave me the quote on a shingles roof to replace the composite tile that was there before and talked me through their expectations for the entire project. Jay was very communicative and accessible throughout the project and they were able to complete the roof in three days with one day reserved for the city inspection. I was also very nervous about the cleanup since I have a toddler at home that likes to play in the yard, but their cleanup was amazing! They also coordinated smoothly with a separate window installation company, which made the whole process a lot less stressful on our end. They were on time every day and worked quickly and always with a smile. Then completely cleaned up each evening. Their attention to detail was amazing and all of the little subtleties they added really made the difference. Circle Vents, small window corner siding and boxes for all electrical. Anytime I had a request and I'm a detail person, they responded with a smile and quickly addressed it. We also replaced our termite filled fascia with Hardie fiber cement material and they trimmed it out beautifully and now will last our lifetime. OH BOY, STUCCO BOY!…read more I met with Jereme (the owner of Stucco Boy/Builder Boy) to discuss an exterior refinishing project. We've got some TEX-COTE that the prior owners added that is failing and in need of repair. To their credit, Jereme is knowledgeable about TEX-COTE and the company even has a landing page on their website describing how to fix a failing application. They offer services to repair and re-apply, and Jereme mentioned this would be an option for us, in addition to a more involved re-plastering. Jereme said he'd break out different options for us. Despite Jereme's demeanor coming off a bit slick and salesy, them being a local company with experience with TEX-COTE gave me some confidence. I received a proposal that I felt was reasonably priced. Before selecting the company for my project, I had some follow-up questions I asked the office staff via email regarding coordinating the project with other work being done-namely a re-roof project that I'd be undertaking. After a little back-and-forth, Jereme called me directly. I was able to ask my questions about coordination with the roofing company, and he put my mind at ease. He described how the roofing company would handle tear-off and paper the roof, and then Stucco Boy would come in and water blast and prep. He was pretty specific about his recommendations and that fully addressed my questions. He said that I'd be able to put them into contact with the roofer to work out the specifics and "when roofing companies hear that, they are relieved"-indicating to me that there'd be a proactive direct coordination that would help streamline the process. WONDERFUL! After receiving HOA approval for the project, I reached out to Builder Boy and said I'd like to proceed with them. I followed up with a few questions including one about timing and order of operations to coordinate with the roofing and solar to take place (roughly, at this point) in January. The responses I got from the office staff to my questions were different than what Jereme had indicated; instead of coordinating with the roofers, they said that it would be better for them to do their work after the roofers had completed. There was some back-and-forth where I tried to reconcile the differences in the office staff's answers/recommendations of doing work after everything else was done and what Jereme had indicated to me on our earlier phone call. Two days after not hearing anything back, I received a phone call from Jereme. He indicated to me that he'd heard from his team that I was "frustrated" and that I had taken an "aggressive tone" with his staff and he hoped to understand my frustration but also see if there was a path forward. He indicated that he cares about his staff; the implication he was stepping in to shield them from unfair treatment. I told him that I was confused, and asked if he'd read the emails-my hope was to ensure we were on the same page about what my issue actually was and for me to understand what about my correspondence was "aggressive." He replied he'd "skimmed" the email-so I asked him if I'd be able to read it to him--much of my confusion stemmed from what the office staff was suggesting and how it was much different than what Jereme had indicated regarding coordinating steps with the roofing company. He responded "I get it, you're a good guy" as if my primary intent in reading him the email to was somehow clear my name, and he followed up with "I'd rather not live in the past and instead just move forward." Wait, seriously?! You imply I'm mistreating your staff, you're only vaguely aware of what my issue actually is and when I attempt to talk in specific terms about either of those things you suddenly want to "move forward"? I tried to explain to Jereme the disconnect, and how the staff's recommendation wasn't what he and I had discussed earlier, so I was confused. He said "it can be done either way" and "it's up to the customer"- but kept insisting that his staff was correct in their suggestion without acknowledging it was different than what he himself earlier had suggested, and that was the source of my confusion. The whole time it felt like Jereme was trying to gaslight me, and whenever I tried to be specific about our conversation or clarify what my issue actually was, he'd deflect and say dismissively "it's up to you; just tell us when to show up and we'll be there." I was pretty floored at this point and couldn't shake the feeling that I was getting hustled by this guy. I knew that as he kept insisting he wanted to "move forward" without actually talking about the nature of the problem, it was a sign that this wasn't the kind of company, and Jereme the kind of person, I could trust. So I calmly told him that it was clear to me it wouldn't be a good fit, he said "OK," and that was the extent of my experience with Builder Boy. Jereme: because you didn't bother reading the email exchange before, I posted it here for your convenience.

I am assuming they only put 2 coats of finish on and didn't prep correctly since all of the finish has already released after only 4 short months. When his team was "complete" I could tell they did not do the job I expected. I asked them to come back out and place one more coat on....which they did but didn't make much difference. I have since refinished myself after spending over $2k for their crappy work. It looks great now.....after a real complete strip and 4 coats of the finish I originally asked for. I used Yelp's quote request tool to reach several repair providers about a broken glass panel in my…read moreMilgard fiberglass french door. I described the door specifically and asked for someone experienced with Milgard. This company replied first and told me they work directly with Milgard and handle their repairs all the time, so I had them come out to measure and quote. The technician who came out did not seem familiar with how the door was built. Instead of getting the glass dimensions from the manufacturer or measuring the opening, he tried to pry off the interior trim to take his measurement. He started at the top left corner, in plain sight at eye level, and chipped the door, exposing the white fiberglass underneath. Then he did the same in the other three corners and again partway down the right side. Five spots in all, and he kept going after the first chip had already shown what the prying does. What makes it worse is where the damage landed. The chips are on the door itself, the fiberglass, which cannot simply be swapped out. The trim he was prying against is removable and replaceable, and it came through fine. He damaged the one part that is hard to replace and left the replaceable part intact. On top of that, he could not actually get the trim off, and proposed cutting it off and gluing it back on. The plan to cover the chips became repainting the door, and since it is a french door both panels would need painting to match. They asked me to source the correct Milgard paint myself. Their verbal price was also higher than what the job ultimately cost me, and the formal written quote they promised more than once never arrived. The company I ended up hiring removed the same trim in about 30 seconds, testing first in one discreet spot, with no damage to the door or the trim. That is the difference between a shop that knows this product and one that does not. I have patched the chips myself with epoxy putty and Milgard touch-up paint, but it is only a stopgap. The real irony is that the door now needs a full repaint to look whole again, not because the glass repair called for it, but purely because of the damage done during a visit to measure and quote. The damage was serious enough that I considered small claims court. One star (less if I could).

There were all sorts of extra things he had to deal such as extra caulking, motorized awning to be taken down, rotting wood and so forth. He provided a very reasonable price and quality work. He was responsive and easy to work with. The team did a thorough job prepping the area and making sure they were as clean as possible. They covered the ground/house and taped up all necessary areas nicely. A power wash of the entire house was done a couple days before painting. We also had a leak (last year) on one area of our roof which caused mold to form on some of the wood, but Sam was able to power wash and apply a chemical after to treat it. Painting was recommended by a neighbor and we are happy they did. Brandon knows what he is doing and is very confident and professional. All rotten wood was replaced which required a lot of work obtaining matching wood and shaping features (which Brandon did himself on site). His two man crew were so nice and both with 20yrs experience. The job was done at a lower cost than others and in as much as half the time quoted because they knew what they were doing, and the houses in our neighborhood have quite fiddly exteriors. The quality of work is very high.
