Gold Star, you have redeemed yourself in a big way! A few weeks ago, I went, and I didn't feel the quality was worth the cost. Service wasn't the best. I left a 4-star review stating what I just did. Trying gold star signature "GOrita". GS chili, cheese, chipotle ranch with Fritos corn chips rolled in a flour tortilla. And a 5 way chili. The key to Cincinnati style chili is the legacy Greek spices that flavor the soupy beef sauce. Gold Star spice mix some what muted but it gets the job done and becomes a vehicle for cheddar cheese, sweet onions, spaghetti pasta comfort goodness. Because the sauce is served on the mild side, a red chili hot sauce is provided at table to spice it up to taste. The "GOrita" is a take off of a burrito, with all the advantages of a flour tortilla wrap - clean, can be eaten with one hand. Big plus, is the "Fritos" wrapped inside that adds a nice crunch. I was glad to find this location still open. I used to frequent it when I was in high school. It's right off 32 (Appalachian Highway) beside a gas station and across the street from a McDonald's. There's actually a 50's style diner very close by. Sometimes you'll see horse and buggies in the area since there are several Amish families living nearby. I love Cincinnati style chili and it's hard to find when you're not in Cincy. This location is the farthest Gold Star east of Cincy. Once you pass it that's in. You'll need to buy it in a can from a Meijer or Kroger somewhere. Menu's the same as all the other stores, including the "Grill Menu." Yet, I don't remember seeing the Burrito items other stores have. Drinks are Pepsi fountain. They also have shakes, which I've never had. I don't think I could stomach a shake on top of Cincy chili... They've always had a nice staff and clean restaurant-still do. Fast and friendly as ever. Like most locations they sell Gold Star retail products as well-food and giftables. They also have a drive-thru which was always nice. There's not much around so I wouldn't consider it a destination but definitely a site for sore eyes when you're in southern Ohio craving that spaghetti, chili and cheese. This was my first visit to any Gold Star Chili. I had been camping for three days so was hungry for city food. Although I couldn't taste a significant difference from Skyline, I thought the 3-Way and Coney Meal was delicious. The service was welcoming, quick, and polite. read more

Grimy, nasty, pests, hot as fuck, and rude ass people behind the counter to boot. The waitress was great and friendly but I'm pretty observant and I could tell she was not at all pleased about being there and interaction between employees was forced and robotic. It's always a treat whenever I got to go eat at Gold Star Chili, I always loved their coneys. They also have really good Chili Spaghetti and Chili Cheese fries. Their burgers are actually pretty dope as well, and the fries were crinkle cut, which is always a plus for me, 10/10 read more

Just stood in line to order food to go. Person I was with ordered, then I waited to give my order. Girl at register looked around me to somebody she must have known. Asked them if they needed to order. They said no we need to pay to leave. She told them to come on up. I thought , what am I invisible here? She took their credit card, I took my business elsewhere. I was in the goldstar on 4-22-2018 at 9:12pm the store hours are from 11a to 10p Sunday hours I checked the website on Google and double checked the hours and nothing was posted or stated that the dining room was closed...... When we arrived at the location we was told the dining room was closed and that we have to carryout..... Now mind you it was around 9:12 pm and the fact that there was 2 family's eating in the dining room and being served, the lady behind the hot dog grill was adamant about us having to carryout food... My problem is this; I was assisting a 79 year old handicap man that has a very serious mobility issue that requires a cane and the assistance from myself to get in and out of the car and to be helped getting in stores etc..... Now if we wanted to carryout food why would I go through so much to help in the restaurant when could of just easily went through the drive thru...... Not only that but I am a African American and o felt so embarrassed to be told in front of others that we cannot have seats and enjoy a meal..... It was a total embarrassing and demaning way to be treated while seeing others enjoying there meals and all we wanted was to be treated the same...... it was a exp that I will never forget and nothing was posted saying that the dining room closes at 9.......
