Still love the short rib taco, but there are some amazing new items on the menu since the last time I was there. The chicken empanadas are the meatiest empanadas I've had in town, delicious and a pretty good deal at 3/$11. Perfect for sharing, on their own, it's a meal. They also now serve a basic crunchy taco, but unfortunately, they only come in orders of 4 so couldn't try those and the empanadas. I guess I'll have to come back. Oh noooo! Keep an eye on the promotions from Thunderdome around the holidays for some discount gift certificates too. Bakersfield still delivers great food at a solid value after 14 years.

The sausages were tasty but nothing special. Both sides were so heavily seasoned with vinegar I could not get through them. My husband even thought the sauerkraut tasted too vinegary but he loved the potatoes, polishing off what I had left on the plate. The service was great; prompt and polite.
