We typically eat indoors at Goldstar, located in Somerset Kentucky. The service has always been great ,the portions of food have been good as well. I used the drive-through for the first time to order our food. I ordered two veggie Gorito's and two Large fries. To our disappointment after arriving home,when we opened up our Gorito's It was as if someone just dipped the spoon into the sauce and then wiped it on the tortilla shell. We also had only received one fry instead of two. Since I did not receive a receipt which I should've asked for (my fault) I did not go back and get the other Fry. I should have checked the order as well . So for me I recommend to go into the restaurant and order your food. You get larger portions of food and I'll guarantee you it will not be as if someone just wipe the spoon on a tortilla shell. Normally these are wonderful to eat. So for me this experience was not a good one. So I do not recommend using the drive up but that's just me. Their food is good and I will continue to eat there but I will not used to drive up window. Went to have a nice bowl of chili and all they had was spaghetti with a hot dog sauce on top. Super bad. Will not return. While the food was not good the service was great, the restaurant clean and the wait was short. read more

This location is conveniently located on 27 in Somerset so it's close to Lake Cumberland! The restaurant is clean, has excellent service, delicious food and fast food preparation time! Kids eat free on Tuesday (with each $8 adult meal you receive a free kids meal)! The kids meal includes a 3 way, spaghetti with cheese, cheese coney, hot dog or chicken tenders plus French fries or applesauce plus a milk or juice and Grandma's cookies (vanilla or chocolate chip). Our favorite items are 4 ways (spaghetti topped with Cincinnati style chili with onions and cheddar cheese plus we add oyster crackers and hot sauce onto ours (available for no additional charge). We also love their cheese coneys (hotdogs in a bun with Cincinnati style chili, cheddar cheese and we love them with onions, mustard and hot sauce! If you have never tried Gold Star Chili then you should give it a try next time you are in Somerset or at Lake Cumberland! read more

BOGO for Bengals is the best idea ever. It brings people in the door and keeps them coming back. It is in my opinion is the price it should always be. The evening servers are superior but the young, skinny blonde is very flighty, gets orders mixed up, forgets drinks etc.... as a regular coming in i have always enjoyed the atmosphere of goldstar. the service is amazing the food is on point. but hearing the manager talk down to her employees over any little thing makes for a bad visit. cussing where a customer can hear. raising her voice to the employees is not professional. this is not the first time ive seen this manager (bernice) belittling her employees, this is several occasions with several different employees now. read more

Every time I order cheese coneys without mustard and onions, I get them with mustard and onions. They've gotten this order wrong 80% of the time, often when it's to-go or drive-thru. They have generous portions with their 3-ways but the coney mishaps coupled with sloppy/messy goritos means I have a hard time recommending anyone to eat here. I lived in Cincinnati for many years. I think the GoldStar in Somerset is so far away from other GoldStar restaurants they think they can serve Chili with half the normal amount of cheese on it and no one will notice. Very disappointed. I'm giving 5 stars cause I have grabbed grub from here from time to time and I've never had an issue. The food has been consistently good, the staff friendly, and they don't short you through the drive thru which is rare these days. I've lived in Somerset for 7 years and have never tried Gold Star Chili until today. The food was very good but more than that, our waitress, Jordan, was fantastic! She was very bubbly, quick with our drinks and food and very pleasant. She made very easy conversation with myself and my 11 year old son. I observed as she was very polite and helpful to the few other gentlemen she was waiting on, as well. I'm so glad I was able to get that kind of customer service on my first visit!!! read more

The Worst! Waitress Jordyn serves up attitude and puts thumbprints in the chili dogs. She got the order wrong 3 times, then got cranky about it! We are a military family there on Armed Services Day, with one Marine grandson in tow, and she was beyond rude to me, a 68 year old Nana, when I told her the 3rd time she still had the order totally screwed up. Then she charged me $10 extra for stuff we never ordered, never got. Kim, the manager, was a stressed out mess. Our table busser finally got our drink order right. What a horrible experience!
