When we visited with our family only the outdoor pool and small water park was open. On a hot summer day it was certainly worth the trip and the value given the price (it's public) seems like it's hard to beat. We paid a little over $20 for a Father's Day special (two kids tickets plus mom). Note: under 2 is free but 2 and under must wear swim diapers even if they are potty trained. The water park is fairly small and we felt like we got our fill in just a little over an hour of time. The life guards are nice, but as others have mentioned, strict. Not just the "no running" type of strict but the no going face first on a baby slide type of strict. It's a pretty paternalistic approach when you consider that every hour they take a 10 min "get some water and reapply sunscreen" break. Isn't this what parents are supposed to do with their kids? I'll also note that no outside food or beverage is allowed and this is enforced The little lazy river is fun and fast moving. They have two big slides if you have kids that are 48 " inches tall at least. The aqua tots section doesn't have much but it's fun. It was crowded when we were there so it took about 10-15 min to enter and the big slides also had some lines, but nothing crazy They also have a small concession stand and lockers for just $.25 which is nice. Again, overall, given the price it's a pretty good deal for cooling off with your fam but if you live far away, not sure it's worth making the trip all that often.

GTX format with a new name! Basically, Someone yelling at you on a pilates machine with music. Still better than competition, but you are really paying for it and soon it will just like them. SPIN is the only real core cardio that all ages can do and they cancel it. Poor quality "healthy food" cheese wiz on stale chips. 5 day old broiled chicken on premade salad from days before. Food $$$ & no outside food or drink allowed. Shakes taste a 5 on a scale of 1-10. After taste that keeps you from finishing the whole shake. Each shake $11- $15 Staff is nice, but limited in helping you. Price is set. Memberships very complicated. There really is no "you can go to any gym if you work aboard." each gym has specific benefits. If it doesn't match up boom not allowed. For example: NY has 14 gyms that do not allow you to go. Period! Membership offers a "all gyms" with hike up in $$$. So you pay extra for nothing. Look on line and it shows you how few gyms are interchangeable. Hot tubs need updating. Water is low so it hits you below chest with only 3 jets in the entire tub aimed at your back. Just like a motel would have.

She started at the Trigger Fish level, advanced to Sea Lions, and just recently graduated to Manta Rays. The academy's structured approach--requiring specific skills to be mastered at each stage--has clearly paid off. She's athletic and attentive, and the instructors have done a fantastic job channeling those strengths into steady improvement. Each level seems to take her about 5-6 weeks to complete, which speaks volumes about both her effort and the academy's teaching methods. With only two levels left after Manta Rays, she's well on her way to being ready for our HOA's competitive summer swim team, which runs six intense weeks with six tournaments. The difference in her confidence and ability in the water is easy to see. Honestly, I may not be able to swim away from her when she chases me in the pool next summer! Watching her master the different strokes has been exciting, and I'm grateful for the academy's clear progression system and supportive environment. Atlanta Swim Academy has been a wonderful investment in her growth, and I highly recommend it to any family looking to build strong swimming skills in a fun, structured way.

We've been bringing our daughter here for swim team lessons and are having a great experience. We…read moredid not sign her up to learn to swim as a survival skill, she already had a few months of swimming lessons and was confident swimming, treading water, etc. We were looking to join a swim team, and when I searched, " Swim Team near me" I found quite a few choices. I checked out their websites, reviews and called Gold. They are located right off Main Street in Woodstock behind the Amphitheatre, in the Woodstock Aquatic Center. They have parking at the Amphitheater plenty more private parking around back. They have two very warm indoor pools, one being Olympic size (maybe with a retractable roof? Not sure - read plaque image below for more info on Olympic History) that was built for the 1996 Olympics. The swim team has open assessments regularly. At the time I did not know this team was one of the top 20 teams in the US of its size. But everyone has to start somewhere, so at the assessment they asked my daughter to show them freestyle, backstroke, etc. which she knew none of because she is in first grade. We were told they would love to have her on their team, but they train to compete, and even if she was the fastest swimmer, she would get disqualified if she didn't do her strokes correctly. So, the first step is to learn the proper strokes and turns. They have specific swim classes for the pro classes, once a week or twice a week. It's one teacher with two or three students, and each get tons of one-on-one coaching on technique and practice. They have a positive reward ten ribbon system that helps everyone understand their personal skill accomplishments. Once the student earns all ten ribbons, they qualify to be on a swim team, and have a skill they will never lose. The more often you go, obviously the faster you learn. We go once a week and are close to her 10th ribbon, so I'll be sure to post an update on that later. It has been great to give her a chance to swim all year long, not just when the neighborhood pool is open. From Harper, 7: "I like that the teachers are nice, they teach us how to swim good and I have fun!" So far we highly recommend and will update soon!

The upside for the owner and shop is that it appears they have so many customers they have zero obligation or motivation to care or fulfill promises. -- I spoke with the owner, Randy Wright, about six advanced courses I planned to complete. Randy said he was just on a call with the Director of SSI Training, who Randy would call back. Randy stated he would get answers to my questions and "call me right back." Five days and counting, no call back. -- Online, a week in advance, I scheduled and paid for an Advanced Wreck course. The day prior to the course I called to inquire if it was only going to be classroom of if we would be in the pool as well. The employee informed me that no instructor was available and the class would not be held. No one was planning to call and warn me before my one-hour drive to the shop and there was no offer of a refund! -- I've experienced the same lack of service is at both the Memphis and Marietta shops -- which seems to reflect the experience I had with the owner. If I blew off clients and did not keep promises, I wouldn't have a business left. So good on The Dive Shop for creating a model where me as a customer is undeserving of promised service. The only one professional in the shop is Lisa Collins so if you have to go to The Dive Shop, see her.
