This journey has truly been such a gift. I'm so grateful to have experienced it. The staff are all professional and very nurturing! The staff made me feel so comfortable, taken care of, seen and heard. They went above and beyond; being friendly, kind and gentle. This gave me a space to fully let go and get into my journey. During my lowest time, a friend advised me to seek help from alternative medicine since my current situation wasn't constructive. I was initially hesitant and financially struggling, but Dr. Jenn was very welcoming and offered a more manageable care. Betsy, and the nurses were also very polite and made the experience feel safe. The clinic really put my safety and care first, which I feel many doctors and offices lack. The environment was colorful, not like a clinical office at all. They provided scents, and snacks and a journal after each session. After my 6th session, I started to feel much better again. Dr. Jenn truly cares about her patients. She is very experienced and displayed true compassion when talking with me. The office and staff are very calming and welcoming. I am incredibly late on this review as I completed my series of 6 sessions a few months ago, but this 5 star review is ver deserved! I came to golden afternoon after being denied ketamine treatments multiple times by my own psychiatrists office unless I COMPLETELY changed my medication regimen that I had been on for about a decade. I suffer from bipolar 1 disorder and had been on a mood stabilizer/anti depressant since I had been diagnosed but still struggled with severe depressive episodes multiple times a year lasting months at a time. Every time it got really bad I'd try an antipsychotic that I would inevitably have to get off of after the worst of the depression passed because the side effects were horrendous. I had already tried about 10 different antipsychotics before I started looking into ketamine and it was like I stumbled upon a rainbow in the dark. I did so much research and i finally had some hope..but then there came months of back and forth with my doctor trying to convince her I was responsible enough to try this treatment without switching my trusted mood stabilizer that I love and without getting on ANOTHER antipsychotic that I knew would make me physically ill. I was told due to my history of mania I wasn't a good candidate and they refused to offer the treatment unless I went on 2 new medications. I got fed up and knew there had to be another way..and then I found golden afternoon. Dr jenn was amazing, I had an online consult I think just one day after requesting, she was so kind and informative, she listened to everything I had to say and spoke with my psychiatrist before approving me the treatment. I'll be forever greatful that she trusted me to receive the treatment and manage any possible manic symptoms that could possibly arise (none did). The vibes of the office are very calm and the staff was all very sweet and attentive. The rooms and chairs were calming and comfortable, they offered eye masks and noise canceling headphones. The dosage is very much tailored to each individual starting at .5 and working your way up if needed. I ended up at .8 because my mood stabilizer (lamical) lowered the effects. I personally didn't have any hallucinations and didn't particularly enjoy the high that it gives you BUT my results were phenomenal. After the 3rd session my depression starred melting away and by the 6th it was just gone. This is obviously a very long review but I think for a life saving treatment it's important to share lots of details for anyone who may be looking for help. Golden afternoon was a blessing for me and I would recommend it 100% to anyone looking to heal with ketamine. read more
