Took us some time to write this review but hey, better late than never! We contracted his services to mount our TV to the wall via Amazon but we ended up using them to hook up and set up our brand new Bose audio system to several electronics (Playstation 4, Apple TV, TV). He took the time to explain to us how it worked and saved us from a cable mess, tons of work (which we didn't need after moving in), plus peace of mind that I was not going to mess up the wall of our brand new home. This couple is amazing, great conversation and would totally use them next time we need something done. Have recommended them to some friends as well. read more

The case number is listed below in the county it was filed. Devon Perry is a young business owner that does not honor his promises. He did three projects in our house and never completed any of them, nor did he return a deposit of $750 for a project that could not be completed in our 20 year old house. He referred us to his friend Isaiah to complete this job who told us the equipment would not work and advised against it. Devon is now referring to him as someone I hired who could not do a good job and takes no responsibility for recommending equipment that failed. We worked diligently trying to get him to do the right thing and he ignored us, was rude and refused to return our money. My husband and I finally posted reviews of his theft and poor service. He responded saying I have mental and drug issues. Further, he threatened both of us...."I know where you live...karma is a bitch". Warning!!! Do NOT hire this company or Devon Perry, the owner. We hired Devon in March to set up the surround sound system through our 20 year old house. All the wires were in place and he just needed to order a Yamaha and Sonos amps and plug them in. We also needed an extended arm installed for a 65 inch TV. Started out well, but was always in a big rush to leave and meet someone...his mother for his birthday weekend...a girlfriend for a trip to Miami, etc. He just never got around to completing a job in full or providing any instruction or any detailed invoices detailing his charges..."Just Venmo me the money." A total of $4,416 of which we never got an itemized bill. Seems very high for the amount of work he did, don't you think? Devon seemed so sincere and honest until he wasn't. He talked us into upgrading our home to a smart home, ordered a bunch of equipment, hired his electrician buddy and then when the equipment failed, he threw his long time buddy under the bus. Wow! What a nice way to treat your friend and new customer. His buddy told us that he warned Devon to not buy that type of equipment as it would not work in a 20 years old home. Isaiah uninstalled everything and returned it to Devin so I could get a refund. That never happened with repeated calls from us. No refunds ever and it's been 6 months. He had also referred us to Basement Finishers, LLC regarding our potential basement project. The owner of that company has a long history of making up false claims and suing at least 22 families for not going forward with projects that never even got started. That immediately happened to us just days after meeting the owner and we are still fighting it in court. Interesting coincidence wouldn't you say? Both Devon and this company lied and cheated us out of a great deal of money without one concern. He may appear to be a nice young man on the surface , but when you confront him for the return of money on equipment that would not work in our house, he became nasty and belligerent and threatening. We do not recommend Devon Perry at all. He recently responded to my review on Google indicating the reason for my bad review is that I have mental and addiction issues. This proves how insecure and immature this young man is. The electrician I hired was a friend of his and was very professional and wasn't going to charge me for installing the wrong equipment that Devon ordered. The tips were because I felt sorry for him having to work on his birthday while his mom was flying in to see him on his birthday. He shared a great deal of information indicating he has personal problems with girlfriends and associates and I did pity him that he was unable to provide a professional service including no training or written instructions at all. I always try to help young people struggling to build their business, and he shared that he had been unable to build a robust business. We certainly understand why after working with this volatile and angry young guy. We wish him the best and hope he is able to mentor with someone who might help him with his struggling business. Devin came out to my house on Wednesday morning, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service. I have some pretty antiquated systems -- my TV and audio setup are about 20 years old -- and they weren't performing as expected. The speakers weren't working properly, the Bluetooth was disconnected, and despite my best efforts, I couldn't figure it out. Devin was extremely knowledgeable and clearly very experienced. He immediately understood the setup, diagnosed the problems, and methodically got everything back up and running. He reset both my old-school box TV in the living room (and got the speakers working off it again) and also reconnected the Bluetooth system. In the bedroom, he even replaced a faulty cable and reconfigured everything so it all works perfectly now. These are high-quality older systems that I didn't want to replace, and thanks to Devin's expertise, they're now performing better than they ever have. I'm genuinely impressed and grateful for the level of skill and professionalism he brought to the job. He is the least professional business person we've ever dealt with. I called Devon to install surround sound (our house was pre-wired for it), and also to make the cables dangling from our bedroom TV invisible. Excellent job on both. On surround sound, he knew all the zillions of options on equipment and was able to recommend one when we gave him our general price/quality range. He knew how to connect to our pre-wiring, and he patiently showed us all the controls after installation was done, so we can use the new system for TV (incl streaming, etc.), music from our phones, and even DVDs and CDs through our old BluRay player (unexpected bonus). On the bedroom TV, he created a new outlet behind the TV and attached the box to the back of the TV too (it had been on the dresser). I hired Devon to help me set up a Philips Hue backlight for my TV and fix some speakers on my home theater that stopped working. I specifically asked around for someone with Hue experience and he confirmed that he was knowledgeable with their products. He was over for two hours and it cost me $178 (I was quoted $138). In that time he got one speaker working that had wires crossed, told me my subwoofer was broken and needed repair and my Hue system could not be set up due to a problem with Hue and my account. After he left I called Hue support (which is great btw) and they informed me that Devon had been using the app wrong and had plugged the Hue lights in wrong. A few easy fixes on my end and I was kicking myself for paying him a nice sum to do it wrong while I should have just called Hue from the start. After that I took the subwoofer to get repaired and I was informed that there was nothing wrong with the speaker. So I paid Devon to tell me it was broken, paid someone else to tell me he was wrong and then just ended up figuring it out myself. Again, kicking myself. I gave him two stars because he was responsive with his emails and seemed like a nice guy but as far as the work goes, very disappointed at what I had to pay for overall incompetence. read more

I got my TV mounted by Devon and it was a great experience. He framed out the dimensions for me and showed me where it would end up on my wall, and then allowed me to choose different locations until I found the one I liked best. Devon and Elena did a fantastic job! Couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. I contacted them first for a simple 5.1 pre-wire while remodelling the basement and some ideas on what I could do to make it better. Devon made two trips and spent at least a couple of hours with me on just that! With a mix of DIY effort and his expertise, I ended up with a 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos Theater setup instead of a 5.1, while still being in the budget more or less. And the result was outstanding. The Atmos is crazy good!! His prices for all the pre-wire, installation and product were very reasonable. In fact, for most items, it was cheaper than anything I could find on the internet. I have worked in technology for 10 years and Golden AV is one of the most professional companies I have worked with. Devon is fantastic to work with. He responds to my texts day or night if I need to tweak something here or there. The entire design of my 17 speakers is incredible and have a blast dragging music on my iPhone in an out of zones. Hired this company for numerous jobs. TV mount, hook up existing surround sound to tuner and install Nest thermostat. I felt they did a good job on the first two installs but they ended up costing me $200 for repair on the thermostat. My home is only 2 yrs old and when he removed the current Honeywell thermostat it was determined that the Nest is not compatible. When he re-installed the thermostat he hooked up the wires incorrectly which fried the thermostat and blew a fuse in the system. He said that he was not familiar with the system and said sorry. I was without AC for 4 days and it cost me $200 to fix. The company who came out to do the repairs said that it was wired incorrectly when put back together which caused the issue. He has not since returned our calls or texts. read more

Three and a half stars = A-OK+. Overall, I got the project done quickly and the contractor showed up when he promised and costs were reasonable. Devon responded quickly to my initial call and was able to come out the next day to see the property and provide a quote. The primary job was to install a mount and hang a 65" TV on the wall, connect the devices, and program the universal remote. He was also going to provide an quote for security system design/price and we discussed a couple of options at length during the consult. Everything went OK on Wednesday until we realized that the mount I had for the TV did not have the proper hangers that attach to the back of the TV. I will take the primary blame for this, but I had showed him the mount during our consultation and explained to him that I had left my original mount in my previous home. I even showed him a picture on my phone of the original mount still on the wall in Huntsville, AL. He did not ask to make sure everything fit together with the TV. All's well that ends well - gratefully Devon had another mount in his truck that he could sell me and install. What upset me about all of this was that he became visibly agitated and quite rude to me because he had to do additional work to remove and re-attach the new mount. I was perfectly OK with paying the approximately 35% more than the original quote for the new mount, hardware, and extra time, but was very taken aback by how he treated me (the customer) when the mistake was discovered. Overall - things got done within a timeframe that I am grateful for and the costs were reasonable, but I did not have a great customer experience with Devon. He was quite distracted during the initial quote and the day of installation but despite all that, I now have a TV that works and all is well. I never did get the quote for the security system so I got that taken care of elsewhere. Postscript - despite what is mentioned in the comment below, I pre-wired my speakers and subwoofer myself prior to Devon's arrival because they required a very specific bi-wiring configuration for a 20-year-old high end set up. I knew how to do this from a previous install and wanted to set it up exactly like I had it in my previous home and also make things easier for Devon. It had nothing to do with not wanting to pay for the speaker wiring. Nothing was changed with regards to my speaker and sub-woofer wiring and connection to the A/V receiver during Devon's install. They work perfectly they way I wired them. read more

Then it snowed - a lot - and my idea of how easy the job was to do proved to be naive, he had to do some real sleuthing to find a way to give me the wall port I wanted and not make a mess of our house. Well, he did a great job that took at least twice as long as the job I had described, yet was totally willing to honor his original quote. That's really unusual. Don't trust this guy! It's a Scam! Very unprofessional, Very improper, Very unqualified, Very incompetent, Very unskilled, Very impolite. I contact this person simply because I need and RCA audio cable. I search on internet and he was the closet to where I leave. We talk over the phone and he told me he would have this cable for me. Ok I trust him. He gave me appointment for later evening. When I met him. He show me a cable that it didn't look like and RCA audio cable. It actually was a coaxial digital cable. I told him that the audio cable I need it would have a right and left channel. He went in to his truck pull out another coaxial digital cable. Tape it together with his previous one and told me that it would work. He almost forced me to buy it because he prepare that exclusively for me. While everything was happen in a parking lot next to his truck. Of course he didn't accept credit card. Therefore, I had to pay him cash without receiving any receipt or invoice. I contact the guy back in an hour. Telling him that his cable wouldn't work and that was not what e need. I ask to meet him the day after, so I could return to him the not working cable and get back my money. From there the situation escalate. He start to tell him that I was an idiot and I wasn't entitled to to return the item and therefore have back my money. He also threatened me saying that if I wouldn't stop to call him he would call his lawyer and put me to jail for 3 years like had happen to some previous customers of him. I then realized the guy was not normal. I had to call the police in order to take care of the issue, and have them for a civil stanby situation. As right now I still haven't got my money back. There is a civil stanby report against him. In conclusion: I didn't have any idea that he was so unprofessional. I didn't know he had his store/warehouse in the same apartment/condo where lives. I didn't know he was handling his business in the street. I didn't know he was such of asshole. I didn't know he would not take credit card. I didn't know he would not offer any costumer service. So basically I was so naive, unexperienced and too polite that I got screw very bad. Please do not do the same. Be alert!!!! Also I search fro him and his company Golden Audiovisual on Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, and I wasn't able to find him. As good as it gets indeed. Devon was a true professional and the install was quick, affordable and looks and works perfectly. They responded right away when I reached out, gave me an accurate price estimate and a time estimate of 12-2 p.m. and showed up on time, near the tail end of the window. They are really flexible; once seeing my brick wall and what type of TV I had, they were able to adjust to the install with different sizes of the tech needed, all of which they brought along in their car just in case. Devon did an amazing job and got it done really quickly. When I contacted him, he got back to me within 10 minutes and was over the next evening to mount my TV. I made a mistake and bought the wrong mount, but didn't want to have him come back another day/buy another mount. Devon explained the whole process to me and gave me several options; in the end he was able to work with what I had and successfully (and securely) mount my TV for me.
