As a business owner and always respectful I was dishonored. Golden Beauty has some of the worst customer service I've experienced. I recently purchased aloe vera gel and whipped shea butter, and both products were not up to standard. The aloe vera was already open with no seal, and the whipped shea butter was hard and gummy instead of soft and usable. I returned within the same week and politely asked if I could exchange the items. Instead of trying to help, the store manager immediately asked for a receipt with an attitude. I explained that I had just purchased the items days prior and that the condition of the products clearly showed they were not up to par. He refused to assist and dismissed the situation with a shrug, like it didn't matter. To make things worse, the environment felt unwelcoming during the interaction, which made the experience even more disappointing. As a business owner of a public relations firm, I understand customer service and uphold customer care, product integrity, and how important it is to stand behind what you sell. There was no effort to resolve the issue or provide even a basic level of service. Thing is I still went ahead and repurchased the items I needed. Disappointed in the treatment but didn't let it stop my tasks for the day. The male store manager was an asshole supported by the smaller Asian female who mean mugged us leaving. I will NOT be returning. Very Bad Business. read more

All of their products are dry rotted everything I purchased in the store which was $27 and 50 Cent dry rotted the fact that I was out of town and needed my make up and I stopped in Golden beauty supply to purchase these items made me very angry. I still have my receipt and I want to return the items however, there's never anyone in the store besides a young lady in the store who speaks minimal English I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that need beauty supplies in a quick fashion well stock shelves no customers tells you a lot. This is absolute worst customer service. The receipt says you can exchange. Then the old lady holler once you take it out no exchange. It was not opened and had a receipt that STATES at the bottom EXCHANGE FOR STORE CREDIT. That's the reason some of them are not worth fooling with. Huge store lots of items and clean. Im not sure if i would shop here again however please beware they are not taking returns /exchanges on hair and possibly other products due to COVID. I was not aware of this and purchased the wrong color hair. When I called they were unapologetic about not allowing exchanges. Do your best to get it right because you won't be able to receive assistance after your purchase your product. -- Beauty Trendz Memphis is literally next door (1 more min up the street) smaller store but much friendlier staff and you can still get what you need. Plus on Black Friday the entire store (Beauty Trendz) was 50% off. I made a mistake and went here due to ignoring the GPS. I'm an avid business goer to the Golden Beauty supply store for years since close to 7 years going in and buying things. From what I understood when you purchase more than twenty dollars, the beauty business will punch out a hole in this beauty card and after 20 punches completely punched out you can get a $5 discount off on your next purchase. On 12/28/23 - I go into the Golden Beauty supply to pick up some items and had my card. The clerk (manager at the present time) was helping another customer with makeup decisions and basically giving the customer a makeup consultation. I waited quietly tired from taking a red eye flight the night before after waiting in the airport for 12 hours....so I'm waiting for her to tender the customer out - she made her purchase as if I'm not waiting to be check out still having a conversation still with the customer about how to apply the makeup. The customer before me notices my card and said I should have brought my card. So Golden beauty is still honoring this promotion. The Clerk didn't even address me with a hello or sorry about the wait. With a straight face ringing me up she saw my card and said you have to buy $20 worth of things before you can use this. I did have less than $20 and opposed her that it didn't say that on the card after 20 punches I can get $5 off. The clerk said that they were under new ownership and doing away with the card promotion and did not honor what the promotion was for me. I asked to speak with a manager that's when she informed me she was the manager. I left but came back wanting the card back and the owner of the business name. She was on the phone with the owner "Kevin" he was no help at all refusing to side with the customer -someone that has invested there money there for years. For a while I thought that I'd have to travel farther into downtown Memphis in order to take advantage of one of the amazing beauty supply stores. Not so. Golden Beauty Supply is huge and houses an array of nail supplies, wigs, hair creams and tonics, jewelry, and all of the usual amazing-ness found at such places. The workers are extremely prejudice and unfair in their dealings with the public. The workers treat all customers as if we are thieves and talk to us in a disrespectful manner. I brought a $5 satin sleep cap but it was for someone with braids. I took it back to the store within 24 hours and the clerks examined the package closer than the TSA examine luggage and asked questions like why I didn't know what I wanted, why I am returning a $5 satin cap, and warned me not to do this again and to make sure I know what I want. I will never shop here again and will spread the word to others to NOT shop here as well. read more

Go on, make fun of me ;-) If you're in theatre or any kind of performing arts, this is the place to go for eyelashes, wigs, nail polish, cheap makeup, etc. I wouldn't say the staff is "helpful", but I don't know you need that much help in a place like this. I hate I have to give one star for this review. This is my second and last time coming to this store. The service was the same both times. The people who work here do not seem to like the people who shop here who happens to be black. In my experience and what I've observed with other customers on both visits they are very short, disengaged, and disrespectful. If you are in the business of marketing and selling to a particular group of people who are also the reason why your business is thriving, the respect and engagement should be elevated. RUN!! Please go someplace else to shop!!! I was there this morning to purchase a curling iron. When I got home (live 5 mins away) I realized it was the wrong one, so I turned around and went right back. The fat guy with no personality asked me very nasty if I had used it?? I told him no! I said I only plugged it up but when I realized it didn't have the clip, I put it back in the box and came right back! He was just standing there taking stuff out of the box like an idiot and not saying anything!! So I asked him what was I supposed to do, go get a replacement or what? He just waved me off and said yeah! The one I picked up was $29.99 and the one I bought earlier was $32.99. The lady that helped me at the register said there is a $3.26 difference and turned to look at him. He immediately said, WE DON"T GIVE REFUNDS!! I said you don't give refunds???? It's on my credit card so you can credit it back. He stated again that they don't give refunds! At this point I was very angry b/c there is nothing in the store that says that! I got 3 bottles of nail polish and angrily walked out! I told him that I would never shop in this rat hole again! They are prejudice and treat you like sh*(*T! Please go someplace else to shop! But decided to look at there's since its close to my house. They are selling synthetic hair as remi hair!!!.
