I'm disappointed after talking to the manager and Robin who did the grooming. Robin was defensive and told me she couldn't have done that! Manager seemed to not care.. because I heard no apology to sympathy from him. He implied it was my job to reiterate the request to the groomer when I came in for her appointment. Shame on this place. Extremely disappointed with High Country Humane…read more We adopted a puppy who was later diagnosed with Brucella canis, resulting in nearly $2,000 in vet bills and putting our other three dogs at risk. High Country Humane knew the puppy had ticks, yet when we contacted them about the diagnosis and potential exposure, we received essentially a "good luck" response and no meaningful assistance. Now we have to put the puppy down! We understand shelter animals can have unknown health issues, but the lack of support and concern after this serious diagnosis was unacceptable. Adopt with extreme caution and have your new pet thoroughly tested before exposing other animals.

I was lucky enough to be able to get pick of the litter and selected a beautiful girl which I named Sasha. Carrie Bass and her husband have been the best breeders I have ever used and were so kind to offer pictures right after her birth and on Easter and again on Mother's Day. I also paid a personal visit at their home and got to meet the beautiful mother of Sasha and also hold Sasha in my lap where she promptly fell asleep. They offered excellent coaching on everything from potty training, to feeding schedule and recommended pet insurance along with recommended perfect health by NuVet Plus. What was most amazing although the doodles were only 5 weeks old, she had already taught them to sit!! I was also given as a gift a a snuggle puppy for my sweet Sasha. As soon as you pull onto the property you can tell that it is a place that loves animals. It is spacious and each dog has its own room. There are also gated outside spaces for the dogs to run freely off leash. There is the option to have your dog play with other dogs of their size, or have outside time attended. Our dog had a window and TV in his room. I received a photo and update regarding him while he was there. I'm so appreciative that I found them. She sends me many video and picture updates while we are away, which brings me so much comfort and joy! My dog was having a slew of health issues this summer and Moran totally stayed on top of Paikea's many medications! Moran is also an incredible dog trainer. Wanted to share a great emergency Vet in Flagstaff. Last night around 4:00 it looked like our dog…read morehad been bitten by a poisonous spider here in our property in Valle, AZ, so we threw her in the car and ran down to the vet in Flagstaff. They were so wonderful to us and with her, ran a battery of tests and immediately put her on a course of heavy antihistamines. After blood work it was determined she likely did not get a major dose of the poison and by 9:30 we were home. The doctor and staff were amazing and we are grateful she is home and doing well . Just wanted to pass along in case anyone has an after-hours scare with a pet here in Northern Arizona.

We sat in the isolation area with our 11 week old puppy for 3 and a half hours when they had "2 pups in front of us". We went as scared first puppy owners worried because our dog wasn't eating or drinking water all day. Went for a parvo test and an exam for a total of 468 dollars, which an exam at another place is $85. The exam didn't seem to be of any use either because they still couldn't tell us what could even be wrong with even after a negative test for parvo the doctor still wanted to try and give us an estimate for an x ray, bloodwork, and meds all adding up to $1900. We got into the lobby there was not a single soul in there, almost like we got put on the back burner because we were in the isolation area. We went because he wouldn't chew food and the meds they gave us are pills he has to chew which he won't! And then they basically sent us on our way. They also were yelling at our dog, which we could hear from the lobby. Was very hesitant the entire day to bring him in to a vet or way until the next day and absolutely paid the price and time for it as we were there from 6:15 to almost 1 in the morning while they had a basically empty lobby. Zero good customer care the doctor couldn't even tell us what was wrong after a 500 dollar exam fee and then said he would suggest x rays and bloodwork which were the most expensive choices of the estimate. Complete scam I should've walked out hours sooner. Would highly not recommend. Also the med we got for him was a med he has just finished a day ago and it was a liquid form med but we received pill versions of it from there after our whole issue with our pup was he won't consume or drink anything. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else cause I know we will be from now on

The first time I went was at 5:30, thinking I had until 7 pm to get the DIY wash done. I was told the store closed at 7 pm, BUT the DIY dog wash closed at 6 pm, so I only had half an hour. I knew that wasn't going to be enough time, so we left and came back the next day, much earlier. The staff was empathetic and very nice both times. The wash went well, and the staff was super-helpful, equipped with towels, a choice of shampoo (or bring your own if you like), and clearly articulated instructions. The water was hot to the touch. I was told a new water heater was to blame, but if I waited a minute or two, the water would cool off and become warm, which it did. My pup was not pleased at all with the "blow-dry" setup. It is a loud shop vac with hoses extending through the drying bays. We politely aborted that part of the process. It was actually okay, since we had enough towels to get her 90% dry. I was happy with the outcome.

My baby Wally hates getting his nails clipped. I've taken him to several places and they either…read moredon't do a very good job or they tell me he's "too dramatic." At one point I was driving 40 minutes away to get his nails clipped! This is until I took him to bark if you're dirty I love that we don't need an appointment and all the groomers are patient and do a thorough job.
