This establishment receives mobile order for delivery drivers to pick up and I completely understand some wait time, but when you're not acknowledged when you're standing at the counter waiting for a worker to acknowledge you to let them know you're there for a pick up and continues to walk past you. Then you're finally acknowledged by the cook in the back is horrible service. One worker making the food has his pants sagging to his knees with earphones in and the cord hanging in the way by food. Also, he goes outside and comes back in and don't wash his hands then starts making orders. Then look at you crazy when you ask how much longer after being there over 35 minutes tells you they have other people to take care of. Watch out for this establishment not good with customers or making sure sanitation is being done properly read more

If you want proof that this place has officially hit the shitter, just look at the reviews the past 3 years... if my count is correct: ZERO 5-Star ZERO 4-Star ONE 3-Star Two 2-Star COUNTLESS 1-Star... The chicken is dry. They have two entire pans of tenders made and it's not peak hours... the old days they seemed they were always frying chicken as needed. The fries? Not fresh. Not GOLDEN brown. Kinda crisp, kinda soggy. The rolls just aren't the same. Ice Cream machine? Gone. I've been coming here since the 90's. Always had nothing but high praise for this place. Service sucks! Let me say that I was there today around 3:00 and had to wait 45. for someone to say something to me. 45:00 minutes later someone took my order. That's not workmanship. They are there to do nothing and expect a pay check. That's not going to work. The staff playing in the back. They just lost my business ! If you want a job act like it. This business (Golden Chick), needs a reboot! Three days ago, I went there around 5pm, and told they didn't have ANY food! The next day I went around 5:30 pm, and I was told I could only buy 2 whole wings at a time/per visit. I was told that I could buy the 3 piece mix (one wing, one drumstick and a thigh). I asked why, and was told that it's the new policy. I've had issues with the service at this particular food establishment several times. Yesterday, I went to Golden Chick on Ft. Hood Road, Killeen and had NO PROBLEM buying 3 wings! I have NEVER had a problem with the Ft. Hood Road restaurant. I have been coming to this Golden Chick location for years and have always had a great experience. Today I went through the drive thru and placed my orders and received the worst customer service ever. I ordered the roasted chicken dinner and asked for two roasted chicken breasts, side salad and a large sweet iced tea. The other order was a family mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side. My receipt even showed that I ordered two breasts. I drove all the way home to find out there was no container of gravy and I received a leg and a thigh, (which weren't even cooked all the way), instead of the chicken breasts that I ordered and a medium tea instead of a large tea. I tried calling them a couple of times and no one was answering the phone. I'm really disappointed with the service and the food! Hopefully the owners will see this review and talk to their employees that were working this evening. I'm pretty sure the girl handing me the bag of food knew the order wasn't right because she gave me a funny look when she was handing me the bag and I wondered why she had that look. read more

Harker Heights Tx is the nearest to me and they literally are the worse . Went there on a Sunday night .. about 15 minutes to closing .. I know .. late but they're open . But they literally said hold on a minute and about 5 minutes later I drive around to the window a lady is mopping the floor and her coworker is talking to her and I'm looking at them and peep my horn they didn't look at us . Then another guy comes out and looks at us and turned around . They could of just told us they were not going to serve us because it was 10 till closing but no they just wrote us off and the time before that I waited on cat fish for 15 minutes just to get almost cold catfish . Told us to wait at the drive through and never came back on to take our order so we finally drove to the window in hopes to order or at least get an explanation or an apology that they closed early. I went last night around 9:45, an hour 15min before they close and the manager rudely told me they dont have any product up and that its cook to order. Cook to order when you have an hour and 15 minutes left before closing ??? If your going to cook to order why even stay open til 11 you should of just kept your hours closing at 10pm like the past 25 years. So I decide to wait and while ordering they tell me they are out of macaroni and mash potatoes the 2 products that you should never run out of anyways I still ordered and waited which normally takes about 7-10 minutes to batter and cook the tenders but last night it took about 30 min. I get my food and the tenders are super tiny, not hot and fresh, and they forgot my zing sauce. The people you have running this place has no business running it. Visted the establishment on November 14, 2022 at 8:34 PM and placed an order for fried wings with a 20 minute wait time. Not unusual to wait for fresh fried chicken. The customer service from the cashier was unsatisfactory and very unprofessional. While waiting for the order to complete which is now past 20 minutes the cashier ignores me at the window turning her head to look away from the window. Cashier continues texting on her phone and starts laughing as I honk the horn to get her attention. Cashier never apologizes for the long wait as she hands over the order. This particular establishment has an issue with giving the fried wings away while waiting in a designated area way past the promised time frame. My understanding the manager on site does not care if there are complaints about the staff. read more

Sad to find how downhill this place have gotten :( we have gone here a couple times since my last review and have been so disappointed. Last time our tenders and fries were soggy, but we went there late, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today we get our food and the tenders were the size of a French fry... literally SO THIN. On top of that, the cashier gal was NOT pleasant. This place was one of the best fast food restaurant while I was in this town. I have now went two times, the first time I got a 6 piece chicken strip with a side of ma n cheese as well as a roll. The chicken strips has a good crunchy coating and juicy meat. The Mac n cheese was hot and delicious. The rolls are buttery and soft. The second time I went I got a 2 piece fried chicken combo. It came with two thighs and we got a fruit salad as a side. I also got the spicy Golden tender sandwich and French fries. I wasn't to happy about it just being tenders on the sandwich but the bread was delicious as well as the meat. The French fries were hot and fresh, great crunch but still had potatoes in it. 8/10 recommend. This was definitely a great trip! read more

We split some kind of combo with chicken tenders, a biscuit, and fried okra. The tenders were good--white meat, tender crispy coating, plenty of salt! The okra was fantastic. Bright green inside, crunchy breading. Could have gone for a second order. The roll was fine but nothing special. Obviously the managers are inadequate and ill trained for their job. Why not have a member of the staff answer the phone if he or she is unavailable? Seems simple enough right?? Went through the drive thru for lunch today, ordered 2 catfish and shrimp combos. What a let down. Two very small pieces of fish per box. One box had 4 shrimp and 1 roll, the other had 2 shrimp, 2 rolls and for some reason about 5 tiny pieces of okra ( not requested), we ordered double fries for each combo. Their food is always delicious, and the chicken is fresh and crispy. The fries are great, too. I'm not too crazy about the gravy on the mashed potatoes, though. They use white gravy instead of brown. The bun that comes with the meal is glazed with what tastes like brown sugar and butter (it could also be honey butter). The customer service is also good. read more
