He was very friendly & accomodating. I watched Dwight take other's orders. He always had a smile with every customer. There waa a man sitting next to me who was from out of town. He asked me best place to get ice. I told him right down the street. Dwight went over & beyond. He told the gentle man he could sale him some ice! So he put in bag & off the gentleman goes not having to make another stop. Thats over & beyond and kudos for Dwight for going the extra mile to make a customers day! Great fried chicken always hot always fresh. The only downside to the golden chick if they don't like to give you sauce with your meals, they like to charge you for the sauce to go with your meals. I went through and got a kids meal chicken tenders, which you would think that would come with at least one sauce and the lady at the window tried to charge me for the sauce. when I called to inquire about this, I was told that management would call me back. Our first Golden Chick stop. It scored with top marks in Bay county inspections this month higher than some of the bougies. A group of avid chick fans were waiting on the doorstep as it opened. Bright and clean inside with lots of tables. It's family friendly and has a nice team dishing out service with a smile. Food came quickly with more smiles. Pablo had tenders, dirty rice and fried okra, I opted for roast chicken and salad. It was all delicious. A charro bean option with my chicken would have hit the spot. We ended up at Golden Chick which is next door to Dunkin Donuts. Fortunately, both are fully functional establishments 2 months after the category 4 (close to 5) hurricane hit. I went with the southern catfish, potato salad, and dinner roll. It was my first meal upon arrival from California. All was tasty. My teammates went with various chicken meals and sides. The roast chicken however, was extremely salty and difficult for me to finish. The meat was nice and moist but the extreme saltiness gave me severe stomach cramps. I highly don't recommend this fast food joint! I have witnessed multiple poor food hygiene practices in a single visit. Let me share my experience, while waiting for my food to be ready I saw the what seemed to be the manager handling the food without any gloves on, she was making sandwiches and packing them in the wrappers, touching directly the food with her bare hands and her long fake nail who she used to scratch herself with numerous times. Then she proceeded to swipe the water that was on the floor and by accident she knocked onto the dirty floor a bottle of sauce ... she picked it up, looked around and put it back where it fell from like nothing or no one saw it! I did!!! She then finished swiping the water off the floor and went back to packing more food without washing her dirty hands...! Nasty that was too much I asked for a refund and left very fast! During this hard times of pandemic this lck of hygiene is appalling! My kids were hungry and had to wait longer but I would prefer to make them wait then risking of getting sick from this lack of hygiene. read more

Ordered 10 piece dark meat, fried. Got a 10 piece dark baked. Drive thru experience, not walk-in. Not the end of the world, but seriously, how difficult is your job that you can't get that right. Pretty long wait in drive thru but it is a Saturday night , I ordered a 3 pc chicken drumsticks with okra & Mac & cheese , they were out of 1 of the fried drumsticks with a 15 min wait on more so I settled for 1 of the roasted which was a great choice , it is perfectly seasoned and marinated , the fried however was ok nothing to brag about and the fried okra was ok but bland and slightly overcooked , Mac & cheese was completely flavorless ... they apparently just boil some pasta and throw cheese sauce on it ... overall I'll give 3 stars cause I ate almost all of it and I've had far worse food experiences so I'm satisfied read more

Not impressed with the chicken sandwich; a lot of bread and two small chicken fingers inside it. I went through the drive thru and was repeatedly asked what I ordered which was a bit nerve wracking as I only ordered two sandwiches. One original chicken and one chicken salad. First day opening today. The fried chicken was delicious!!! Very tender, juicy, and crispy. The seasoning was fantastic. The green beans and dirty rice were seasoned perfectly and not at all bland. The fries are lightly battered, which is different, but overall good. The staff was excited and friendly. When we got home we noticed they forgot to add an additional side of green beans, so as with all take out, check your order before pulling away. The catfish was crispy and tasty but beware, the portions are much smaller than what is shown on their picture. Overall we were pleased and will go again. Went in because I had never been there and wanted to see the menu without feeling rushed. was the only one at the counter and was never acknowledged for a very long time, even after I decided what I wanted. I have been here many times and every time I've been the staff hasn't even welcomed me when I came in and every time I had a problem the managers were extremely rude and reluctant to help me solve it. My experience at Golden Chick was decent for the most part. The food was pretty good, and the service was fine, but one thing kind of irked me when I was there. They have free soft serve for paying dine-in customers, and the only sign on the machine reads "free ice cream for dine-in customers only," yet when I put some ice cream in my drink cup, an employee scolded me, saying that there was a rule against it, and pointing at the sign I mentioned for some reason, even though it didn't help with his point. Afterwards, he tried to make me pay for it, but then he kind of just gave up and walked away. One of two things needs to happen here, as I've seen droves of customers doing exactly what I did. Either they should just let people do this, or they should actually put up some kind of written warning, rather than reprimanding paying customers for their lack of unknowable rules. read more
