I have been coming to them since they had the hole in the wall location across the street. And when I tell you even then the food was delicious. They are my go to when I want a quick and delicious meal I know my kids will eat. My kids aren't fast foodies so when in a rush I get a whole chicken, yellow rice, stuffed grape leaves and hummus. Oh not to mention my husbands shawarma he gets a different one every time. But the whole trip is for the chicken. I mean it's so full of flavor and hands down the best rotisserie chicken you could ever buy and the prices are reasonable. Definitely a hidden gem. So happy for them being able to move to a bigger and much better building. They now have a lot more seating and the parking lot is bigger.

This place is great. They keep things simple, selling Meat and Chicken Shawarma sandwiches, Rotisserie Chicken, the star a whole Chicken on da cheap and a variety of side items. We ate inside a dozen seats and clean restroom. You can get the meat, which is a combo of beef and lamb, or the seasoned chicken. Both are delicious. A whole Chicken 11bucks outstanding Delicious, had one each Chicken n Beef Shawarma along with Sujuk Sandwich OMG fantastic. We spent a hour eating and watching at least 50 customers pickup food. 4 employees behind counter work nonstop making all happy. We going back soon to try more of the menu. You won't find any paid foodies from Instagram, just Arabic families enjoying great food. Prices are low and food is Flavorful what more do you need. Going on 15 year's now a very pleasant experience you must try.

You know the stereotype of a hole in the wall having the best food? This is it! I visited this spot after reading about it here on Yelp. The food was really good but the prices & the hours are what keep me coming back. The food is consistently fresh. They give so much food that I've had to stop them several times. They're open until 11:00 pm but they often run out of food before then. It's always loud & packed with men. The guys behind the counter are personable and friendly. They're always in a rush though. No time to talk to you about the menu. I haven't had their signature dish yet - the rotisserie chicken but not because it doesn't look and smell good. I usually get rice with some of the meat & veggie stews. This has quickly become my go to spot whenever I'm hungry and don't know what I want to eat.

Golden chicken is a MUST try at this location. Don't even bother going to the supermarket anymore!

The food we received today was so bad we threw ALL OF IT away. We ordered mixed shawarma plate and got all beef shawarma. It was all over cooked. Hard and smelled terrible. We will never come back here ever again. Terrible. What the heck happened ?!

As a Lebanese citizen who lives in Florida, I look for authentic and traditional food that reminds me of Lebanon. I have visited Dearbon over 24 times. I have tried most of the restaurants. But, I loved and enjoyed the rotisserie chicken, grilled chicken, falafel and kabobs at GOLDEN CHICKEN. The customer service and hospitality of the staff are superb. The prices are the lowest in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious leb food.

Golden Chicken is a hole in the wall, dilapidated, hidden gem? Actually idk how to describe it? But how about this? It is about 90 degrees today and they have no AC. The seating booths, the floors, the entrance, the back, the parking lot look so rundown lol. But the traffic is bustling. I was there for a good 30 minutes waiting for my food and I think I saw 15 people come in and go out, some ordered inside, and some had pick up orders. Personally that's a sign of a good restaurant. I did a few walks around my car while waiting for food and this guy next to me said hello, i asked after greeting him how the food was? And he said he drove 45 minutes just to have some Golden Chicken and how their food is never old, fresh all the time because they get a copious amount of orders. It's hard to keep left overs. This got me even more excited. I order two chicken shawarmas(not pictured) and a mixed grill combo(comes with rice/salad). My total came to $21 or so. Mind you, this food was good for 5-6 people. The shawarmas were heavily filled to the brim with delicious season shawarma chicken. And a few pickles and lathered in my all time favorite garlic sauce. The mixed grill came with lamb skewer, beef shish kebob and grilled chicken kebab. On a bed of rice that could feed 4-5. It came with so many pita breads, a crazy amount of hummus and pickles(i guess thats the salad). The yellow rice was delicious, round grain. Had some carrots, and green beans and corn in the rice. The kebabs were delicious but the shawarmas were memorable. Only $3.50 each, now that's cheap! Next time I'll try the whole rotisserrie chicken but my oh my, food is fresh, good and cheap. The quantity is crazy filling. Discovered this way too late but it's better than never!

There are myriad places to get a shawarma in Dearborn, and you're likely to hear ten different answers if you ask ten different people to identify the best. Having tried most of them, though, this is my personal favorite. Ultimately I'd recommend this for a casual lunch with friends or for carry-out, as it's not really set up to be a supreme dine-in location. It's a tiny place with only four booths, one of which is usually occupied with freshly-delivered bread. The shawarma sandwiches are the best I've ever tried, especially on French Bread (I know it sounds a bit odd, but try it!) The meat (chicken or lamb) is always succulent, juicy, and flavorful. The onions, pickles and tomatoes give it the right veggie flavor, and all the breads are fresh. The staff is friendly, the side dishes (garlic potatoes and yellow rice are my favorite) come in GIGANTIC portions, so be prepared to split even a small order.

If I was just eating the food , I'd give 5 stars. But because the customer service is just inconsistent, I have to meet halfway. I've been here many times, sometimes they're insanely busy & other times not so much. The place itself is tiny. A couple tables, pretty outdated, not somewhere you'd wanna sit but more of a takeout. So I call and place my order about 15 minutes before I get to the area because I'm in a rush. Once I get there, I give em my name. "Oh we forgot about you" , huhhhhhhh??? They had forgotten to start my order - mind you it was just a sandwich - so I just waited. About 8 minutes later it was ready, but they forgot to even add the pickles. What's a sandwich without pickles? Another time I called for the same thing, they told me I can't order one I have to order two.. because it's a waste of chicken to make just one. The following time when I asked if I still had to order two the employee said he had no idea what I was taking about. Due to all of this I'd say the main issue is customer service consistency & a the unappealing interior. Aside from all of that. The sandwich was good. Chicken is good, fattoush is also good, everything is reasonably priced. The rotisserie chicken is the best here compared to other places in Dearborn. I think it's about 11-13$ for a whole. So it's a good price. I'd definitely come back, but I think they need to work on the service.

We haven't tried too much Yemeni food in the past and wanted to expand our horizons a bit. Aldaar…read moreseemed like a promising bet, given the feature in the Metro Times a couple of months ago. We decided to stop by for a late lunch over the weekend and as we walked in, we found the restaurant to be pretty empty, with only one other party eating. After we picked a table and sat down, the waitress came over and spread a sheet of plastic on top - I believe Yemeni food is traditionally communal and eaten with the hands, so it helps to contain any mess. While the waitress wasn't able to answer all of the questions that we had (and we had a number of them, given that we aren't too familiar with this cuisine), she was very friendly and patient while we were trying to determine what to order. We went in with the express intent of getting the fahsa, and then yielded to her recommendation for the second dish. Lamb Broth (Complimentary) - Rich, savory, spiced and warming. Just a tad bit of lamb gaminess with small shreds of meat at the bottom of the bowl. Salad (Complimentary) - Mixed chopped salad of lettuce, tomato, red onion, and red cabbage. The diced tomato has all of the seeds taken out so it doesn't make the salad watery. There's no dressing added; instead, they give you a slice of lemon that you can squeeze on top to give some fresh and aromatic acidity. I never would have thought to use straight lemon juice as dressing, but it works surprisingly well. Fahsa ($17.99) - Like all other fahsa, this is served piping hot and bubbling in a stone pot. The fahsa is fantastic, with deeply savory shredded lamb mixed with just a tiny bit of tomato and other vegetables. We didn't request it, but the waitress gave us hilba on the side since she wasn't sure if we would like it or not. And yes, we did try it by itself before dumping and mixing it into the meat. The hilba, made of fenugreek mixed with herbs, is slimy and gooey, almost like a blended okra. The taste is quite earthy and a bit vegetal. I don't think it's something I would ever eat by itself, but it mixes perfectly into the fahsa, adding nice herbal notes to counteract some of the fattiness of the meat. (5/5) Chicken Mandi w/ Rice, Half ($16.99) - The half chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender, like it's been slowly cooked for hours upon hours. The spice mixture lends a fiery red color to the skin and seeps into the meat, giving an orange hue on the interior. The chicken is served on a large bed of rice. Half of it is brown colored, with a deep cardamon and cinnamon taste, and the other half is a yellow rice that's spiced pleasantly, but not nearly as much as the brown. The yellow rice is mixed with sultana, adding a burst of fruity sweetness. Both are perfectly cooked, fluffy with an al dente bite. We find that a lot of places don't give nearly enough rice for the amount of meat - here they give you more than enough. Even the heaviest carb lover should be satisfied. (4/5) Rashush ($2.99) - This thing is massive, probably something around 20+ inches across and is served fresh right from the oven/tanoor. It has some very distinct layers that are able to flake off and tastes slightly buttery. The thinner areas are crisped up from the heat of the oven, while the thicker layers are more chewy resembling a texture of a nice pita. It's sprinkled with nigella seeds, giving the bread a rich earthiness. Overall super delicious and the perfect vessel for the fahsa and mandi. We saw another table get the double rashush and holy cow is that thing huge. I'm talking like 2.5 or 3 feet across. I have no idea how they cook a flatbread that big. (5/5) Everything is served with sahawig, which in this instance is served unmixed, with the bottom layer a salsa-like chopped tomato mixture, and a topping of what seems to be blended jalapenos. Quite spicy, but adds a nice fresh herbal taste to all the food. As we ate over about an hour, the restaurant started getting more and more full - in fact by the time we left, it was almost completely full, with additional people waiting in front of the register to pick up takeout orders. One thing we noticed was that there was one party of only women, and they had a folded screen door blocking their view from the rest of the tables (the other tables were men only). I wonder if that's a cultural thing? We found the food at Aldaar to be exceptionally delicious, and were especially impressed with the massive rashush. We will be back in the future to try more of the offerings - I'm especially looking forward to the maloog and rateb breads on the menu. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. The women's room has a changing table. Note: As with most other more traditional restaurants in the area, they do not have ice water on tap. Pay for bottled water/drinks only. Overall rating of the food this visit: 4.67/5

Hire a busser, first and foremost. Walking into a dirty restaurant doesn't make for the best first impression. Sitting in it for forty-five minutes only lowers that impression. Our waitress was nice. This place is pretty pricey compared to a lot of restaurants around here. A lunch special was around $15 and came with entree, rice, and soup or salad. We ordered the deboned chicken lunch with rice and chicken lemon rice soup. My husband also got a lunch fattoush salad. Soup and salad came up quick. I really enjoyed the CLR soup. It was light and tangy and full of chicken. My husband loved his fattoush salad. Our entree came up not long after. The chicken, while plentiful, was way overcooked. The rice was warn in some spots and cold in others and had random crunchies throughout. Not good. A request for lemon helped the chicken, as did the garlic paste (toum) but still, it shouldn't have come out that dry to begin with. I think my favorite part of the meal was the fresh bread and toum. I probably won't be coming back. I much prefer the service and food at Baba's Grill when I'm looking for a lunch spot.
