I have been craving Chinese for a few days so I decided to go to Golden China for lunch. I phoned in a to go order. I got the General Tso's chicken lunch special with an egg-roll. The chicken was very good with a nice spice to it. The rice was OK, and thankfully the sauce carried it a long way. They have fast friendly service, and my order was ready when I arrived. My food was nice and hot, and the portions are generous. They have over 30 lunch specials Tue-Sat until 3pm, all for just for a little over $9 with tax. The restaurant has a typical ambience of your common small, smaller Chinese restaurants. I will definitely return and try some of the different options. read more

I've been coming to this spot for a while now, and it's hands down my go-to for Chinese takeout. For lunch, I ordered the House Lomein, General Tso's chicken, and upgraded my white rice to fried rice. The food never disappoints! The General Tso's is perfectly crispy, coated in just the right amount of thick, flavorful sauce, and served with some fresh broccoli. If you like heat, their extra spicy option delivers just the right kick. Don't expect much in terms of ambiance--most people grab their food to go--but what they lack in dine-in atmosphere, they make up for with fast service and consistently great food. I went to Golden China and used my US Bank card. Of course the card reader was behind the counter and you have to hand them the card so I could not see what they were doing. We have been eating here for several years. But this time 15 minutes later after I left according to bank fraud charges started occurring. All were declined Thank God one was for 109.74 at Walmart.com. I use my Walmart Savor Card there. And 5 more attempted all declined. I have filed a Smyrna police report. Young kid working there today the usual woman was on vacation. They got a skimmer or they are taking pictures of cards. Beware! I'm not out anything. But others may not be so lucky. I had last used this particular card on July 7th. Used on July 22 at Golden China. Us Bank confirmed that fraud started minutes after I charged my food and left my card started to be fraudulently used. I went back and confronted them. They said it was just a coincidence. Really do people really think everyone is stupid and can't put 2 and 2 together! They lost my business permanently. read more

Ordered the full order of bourbon chicken, the quantity was so huge that the chicken was in one large styrofoam box and the rice was in another. Singapore Mei Fun - flavor was there, but the rice noodles were broken up so much that I had to eat it with a spoon. Ordered extra spicy but was not spicy at all. Appreciated the huge chunks of chicken and shrimp, and like the bourbon chicken, quantity was enough for a few meals, 4/5. I'll never forget my first time eating here. I was much younger and working as a lube tech at the Valvoline Oil Change shop across the parking lot, and it was a hot day. They had just opened, and I figured "why the hell not". Best decision that I've ever made... and I've made a lot. I've been going to this place for more than ten years, and the quality has never failed. This opinion wouldn't normally mean anything to anyone aside from a reviewer except for this one little fact. I never eat at Chinese restaurants. I just don't... for no other reason than they aren't as good or don't carry the same quality "Honey Chicken" that I get from my beloved Golden China. Great environment? Eh, maybe or maybe not. It's just a place with tables, chairs, and all the accompanying utensils that allow you to do what you came there for. Great people? You bet. Coming off a two day illness, I wasn't ready for anything too flavorful or spicy. I remembered that this was a favorite place of my daughter and son-in-law so I looked the menu up online and saw they had chicken chow mien. Most iteration I have had of this are relatively mild in flavor and spice level. Being that I was dinner time, the cost for the combo with fried rice and an eggroll was $7.95. My wife orders the moo goo gai pan. I wished I had weighed them before eating - they had to be 2 pounds of food in each of those boxes! While not spicy, it was very flavorful. Of course we had leftovers for the next day - you may have had some for even the next day, but not me...hey, I had not eaten in over two days... I'm looking forward to another visit to try one of the spicy dishes when my stomach can take it. Or maybe in the mean time - the honey chicken as one reviewer suggested, or... I usually like this place and the food has been good, however the other day when I had a taste for Chinese, I went there and had a very unsettling experience. I walked in, and was greeted by the young lady pleasantly at the counter, but it was at that point I saw the cook in the kitchen literally picking his nose. He did it for about 5 seconds at which point he made eye contact with me and stopped. I HOPE he washed his hands afterwards, but I was so turned off that I just left and went somewhere else. It will be a long time before I go back because when you are in the restaurant business, we as consumers are placing our trust in you, and if that's what you allow us to see, I can only imagine...well.... Just had Beef and Broccoli with fried rice and an egg roll for lunch today. They had amazing egg drop soup and wonton soup and the taste of the broccoli and beef and rice was spot on. It's a small, family owned and run business that had been my top pick for Chinese take-out. They are friendly, appreciate return business and will get to know you on a first name basis. I've had nearly everything on their menu and have never been disappointed. Whether you're passing through Smyrna or have been a long time resident, I highly recommend Golden China. This is the only place I get Chinese food in Smyrna. I've been eating here for years. The food is delicious and it's always hot and fresh to order and reasonably priced. It's not a buffet, but the portions are all I care to eat and I'm a big guy. I live about five miles away and my call in order is ready when I get there. Most places are good, fast, and cheap - pick any two. This is the one place where you can have all three. Try it. You'll be glad you did. read more
