I really enjoyed my experience at Happy Fast Food. The restaurant was nice, clean, and welcoming, and the food was great. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special along with a small shrimp fried rice. The orange chicken was really good, but the fried rice was actually the highlight for me. This is probably the first Chinese restaurant I've had in the area that serves the kind of fried rice I prefer, rather than the yellow rice that seems to be common at many of the Chinese spots around here. The shrimp fried rice had good flavor, although I definitely would have liked to see more shrimp in it. Still, it was enjoyable and paired really well with the orange chicken. The service was exceptional and a relatively shorty wait time. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back to try more of the menu items. read more

We were super exhausted on a Friday night and were looking to pick something up that would be quick and delicious. We had heard about this place and decided to give it a try as we were feeling Chinese. I ordered takeout and the food was ready for pick up pretty quickly given how busy they were. The decor inside the restaurant was simple and the service was fast and friendly. We got the honey chicken, general Tso's chicken, pepper steak, fried rice and lo mein. Everything was good, but there were a couple standouts for me, the honey chicken and general tso's chicken. The honey chicken was breaded and fried in individual pieces and sauced to perfection. The chicken was still juicy on the inside too, which is a huge win. The general tso's chicken was phenomenal, the chicken was juicy and the sauce was incredible. My food is always ready to go and wrapped up nice and neat and they never get my order wrong...I've hardly ever had to wait on a pick up order either. No nonsense, in and out. We have been searching for shrimp egg rolls and finally found them. The egg rolls were cooked to order, hot and fresh, very good flavor. We enjoyed the food and will definitely be ordering again. I love Chinese food but I have not been able to find a good place in the Nolensville and the surrounding area. So I went on Yelp and Happy Fast Food (HFF) kept coming up. I know the name sounds a little funny right? and sounds more like a greasy burger place. The name definitely doesn't scream Chinese food which made me a little wary at first. However, the reviews were solid here and on other websites, so I had to give them a try for takeout. Since it was my first time a HFF, I asked about what size container they had for takeout. The lady showed me a plastic throwaway like Tupperware and at first glance it seemed small to me but wow did they pack the food in there. The portions on the main dishes were surprisingly very generous for the price which I thought was super reasonable. (+1 star) Personally, the first things I order on the menu at any Chinese restaurant are egg rolls and Won Ton soup. These are my 2 staples and you can most always tell a good Chinese place if these two items are worth ordering again. The eggrolls were outstanding, they were fresh, super tasty and cooked to perfection. They have numerous kinds but we had the pork eggrolls and the spring rolls. The Fam liked the pork eggrolls better than the spring rolls but each were really good. (+1 star) The Won Ton soup was really good. The broth had a really nice taste but the winner here were the won tons. The were fresh, hearty and tasted terrific. There also was a bunch of won tons in the quart order. I could have eaten that alone and been set for dinner. (+1 star) Our order included; Orange Chicken (with fried rice), Sweet and Sour Chicken (with white rice) and Beef and Broccoli (with Lo Mein noodles). These were all combination orders so they came with one egg roll (pork) as well. The Orange Chicken was amazing with great flavor and cook on the chicken. The pieces of chicken were a nice size and the portion was large. The Beef and Broccoli was a homerun for my son. The taste and freshness was great. He loved it. I tried the Lo Mein Noodles and they were amazing. Again the portion was big even for a small order. The Sweet and Sour Chicken also had a perfect cook on the chicken and was super tasty again with a big portion of chicken. The white rice was cooked perfectly. The only complaint from my 2 sons was that the sauce was a little too sweet which has never happened with them before so it had to be very sweet. This was the single complaint of the whole meal and order. (Overall food cook, quality, taste and portion size = +1 star) Another thing for me about Chinese places are their cleanliness. I will say HFF is super clean at the order counter and I peeked into the kitchen and it was spotless from the floor to the cooking prep areas. (+1 star) I would highly recommend Happy Fast Food for Chinese food. I know we'll be back even if it is a 20 minute drive from our house. I am hoping they open a Happy Fast Food #2 in Nolensville because this place is the real deal. read more

By far this is the one of best Chinese restaurant that I've been to in this general area with respect to Lavergne, Smyrna, and Murfreesboro. Their lunch menu offers hibachi fried rice with a choice various proteins and a soup or soda for $6.35 and the serving size is generous. I have used their online ordering to pick up my to go order. My order was ready on time each time and the food was piping hot. I've had their General Tso's Chicken, Honey Chicken, Shrimp and Broccoli and Pepper Steak. Each meal was excellent. This has been my go to Chinese food restaurant for awhile now and I don't even live in Smyrna. The food is consistently good and I really love the orange chicken here. The other thing about this place is that you can tell they are not cheap like some other Chinese fast food places. They actually have AC on and dining tables and chairs aren't like at the other places. It doesn't look run down at all! I feel like when I go to other fast food chinese establishments, they all look the same with those red or green cushioned chairs. This place is different. The name is misleading. I placed an order online and arrived on time to pick up my order, 25 minutes after the order was placed. I figured ok that seems like a little bit of a wait but decided it would be ready when I got there. By the time I got my food it had been close to an hour since I placed the order online. People came in, ordered and got their food before I did. I had 3 simple items that weren't even good. I will not be going back. I recommend they change the name because it wasn't fast and I for sure wasn't happy when I left. Don't offer online orders if you're not going to start cooking until the person gets there to pay.
