At Golden Corral it is easy to overeat, they have a huge selection. The Bourbon Chicken was my favorite and the Mac N Cheese was also very good. Soft serve chocolate was a nice finish. The staff was nice and tried to be helpful. It is a large place, lots of tables, easy parking. You pay when you walk in. We first claimed a table, then headed to the food. A nice thing about buffets is you get to start eating within minutes of arriving, great if you are in a hurry to get started. As with any Buffet style restaurant they have good choices and bad choices. We typically eat there once a week. In particular we love the pot roast with carrots, celery, onions and potatoes. If you come for just the steak, you might be disappointed. If you come for the fried chicken, you will not be disappointed. If you are a medium to well-done steak, it will be tough. Medium rare to rare, more tender. The fried chicken is just about the best around. It is always cooked perfectly and served hot. I went to the Golden Corral for a Medicare fact finding lunch and learn. We were seated in a back room. The seats are tattered. The tables beaten. The smell was musty and unpleasant. The staff assigned to the room were prompt and not at all intrusive during the presentation. The main buffet was okay. Lots of comfort foods, fried foods and typical buffet staples served under warm lights with too many dirty plates at the ready. (I put several dirty plates to the side) The salad buffet was okay. Not a lot of lettuce and the set up made the lettuce the hardest thing to get to. The deserts were outstanding. That was the big win. Moist cake, chocolate chocolate and many sweets worth nibbling. My review is directed toward the extremely unsanitary conditions I experienced at this restaurant on Cortez Dr in Bradenton Florida. There was a serious infestation of flies in the women's bathroom-flies were all over the floor, in the sinks, and flying around continuously. Even more disturbing, there were cockroaches crawling over the plates that customers were using to eat. Unfortunately, I noticed all of this after I had already finished my meal, which makes the experience even more upsetting. I am not from the area, but I visit Florida every year, and I can say with absolute certainty that I will never be returning to this restaurant or any other location associated with it. Excellent buffet, and our location has a dedicated mexican food buffet section that is so delicious and unbeatable when it comes to price. Great fried chicken and shrimp, and the best dessert selection anywhere. Great banana pudding and apple cobbler. read more

The food was horrible, undercooked, and the steak fries specifically were incredibly oily, floppy, and tasted like raw potatoes. Very few people there, so very quiet. The employees were friendly, except for the one cooking the meat near the pork steaks, who got incredibly rude with a woman who looked like she might've worked there for asking about there being no steak on a Thursday. The brownies were so undercooked that they were almost raw, sticky, and the fudge was awful as well. The cupcakes had frosting so sweet that it was the only thing you could taste, and the texture was grainy. The rolls were so cold that they weren't even able to be considered room temperature, unsure about anything else. The rolls were also slathered in what seemed to be butter to an excessive degree. Two seniors and two adults went, and the only two who had a remotely enjoyable experience were the seniors. Ended up getting extremely sick afterwards, getting blood in phlegm that was coughed up, a migraine, and an upset stomach. So went with the family to this location, food was good, waitress was wonderful. The worst part was the awful man that was cooking and serving the steak, slicing beef. I'm not sure I've ever come across such a prejudice person. He would literally take a good piece of steak pick a black person out of the line and put two pieces on their plate. Twice when my family asked for a steak and a slice of roast beef, the look on his face (like he was smelling shit) and the poorest piece of meat he could cut, that's what we got. He did it to every white person in line, he went around the gentleman in front of the line with a good steak to make sure the white guy got the worst piece. First we had told them how many people we had and seated ourselves then our waiter proceeded to have an attitude and saying we should have said something to get a right seat. Next, we had a raw burger and hair in our water. not that i usually cry over food, but it was the whole experience. We walked in with our masks on and the first thing I said to my son was ''Does this place smell funny? '' He couldn't tell. It was supposed to be a special breakfast, my son is almost 16 and he and I used to sneak out and go to GC while his dad, sister and stepbrother were still asleep for their wonderful breakfast buffet. I don't know if it was a covid victim, but is surely wasn't what we remembered. Gone was the cereal, milk, yogurt, hashbrown casserole, guava passionfruit juice, stewed fruit for the pancakes, waffles and link sausage. In their place was lunch, greasy tater tots, dried out patty sausage, pancakes that were rubbery and had way too much vanilla, off tasting apple juice and truly awful scrambled eggs. The ''omelet'' I had made to order was nothing more than scrambled eggs folded over, oozing grease on to the plate. I made it halfway thru before my stomach rebelled. The tater tots were greasy as well. The best part of the meal was the water we got to get the nasty apple juice taste out of our mouths and the fresh papaya, pineapple and orange slices that cut the grease. I cried because I was wanting to capture a memory, and if any of you reading know how hard it is to pry a teenage boy out of his bed on a Saturday morning you can relate. This $10 all you can eat place may be a pensioner's dream, but it's not 'all that'. My retired parents took me here all excited, but I was not terribly impressed. The food is basically good quality, run-of-the-mill, expected American and Southern fare, the variety of entrees is large - and of course they have Jell-O. It is almost all self-serve, except for baked desserts and grilled steak. Corral is a good name for it because people jockey for position and can be downright animalistic when you're trying to fish out that last chicken drumstick. The dessert and grill staff can be hard to find. I waited 3 times by the steak to be served and no one seemed to notice me, and when I caught someone's eye, they just kept on walking; I never did get any of whatever beef they had on display. Which is odd, because the owner was standing right behind me greeting customers. Hmm, could that be a way to keep costs down? Next to the grill sat the most over-heated, dried out lasagne I'd ever seen. You could tell it was crispy, but only due to neglect. Your mileage may vary at the Corral, you might even like it. I actually tried everything except the dead lasagne and the baked desserts, which are supposedly good. The pizza and breads are good, the jalapeno cornbread is excellent. The pot roast 'almost' tastes as good as mine. In general, the food is not overly salted. Be kind and tip the wait staff. They may not fetch you food, but they are forced to greet you and help you with problems like the absentee grillman. Good luck with that. read more

This is a great place to go for breakfast on the weekend. They have the whole buffet set up with breakfast foods. There are so many options of breakfast meats, eggs, cereal, pancakes, and potatoes. They also have a full salad bar with so many options of toppings..it is fun to have salad for breakfast. After all your breakfast fill they have a full dessert and ice cream bar to top off your sweet tooth. I always leave extra full and satisfied. I've been going to this Golden corral for 9 years now. and believe it or not we've had the same waitress every single time. when we go in the restaurant we actually look to see where she is and will sit in her section. Her service is always wonderful we've never had a bad experience. the reason I get four stars is every once in awhile you get a real bad piece of meat a tough steak, with some send you but that's to be expected every once in awhile. Otherwise the food is always fresh you can see in preparing it right in front of you, we mainly go for the fresh vegetables they have a wonderful salad bar. We're kind of creatures of habit so we like it when they keep the same menu, but we understand the corporate offices like to change it up every once in awhile. SADLY DISAPPOINTED!!! Wasn't our best experience at a Golden Corral. Let me first begin by saying that my husband and I don't have a sophisticated pallet so for us to give a bad review says a whole lot! We got there at the beginning of dinner hour so you would expect the food to be fresh, right? Quite the opposite, food was old, stale and cold. I tried two baked potatoes which were both undercooked with grayish color on the inside, evidence that they were sitting for hours upon hours. The salad section was dismal. Fruit looked like it was cut weeks ago. My husband tried the steak which he was disappointed, not surprised considering everything else was a disappointment. I feel that management should step up their game, get out there on the floor and observe the food bar and interact with the customers. Paying customers will definitely give honest feedback. read more
