We ordered takeout from Kiku Sushi. The sushi itself was decent--nothing particularly memorable, but not bad either. The biggest disappointment was the soy sauce packets. They tasted nothing like regular soy sauce: they weren't salty and had a strange flavor that reminded me of iodine. It honestly took away from the meal. Please do yourself a favor and switch to Kikkoman soy sauce. Trying to save money on something as important as soy sauce really hurts the overall experience. Good sushi deserves good soy sauce. read more

Eh. I wanted to give two stars because I'm so bummed that I didn't like the food but I really enjoyed the sweet potato roll and vegetable gyoza was decent. We did NOT like: -Bradenton Roll -Santa Barbara Roll -Maki combo 2 -Avocado roll (got this for my toddler and she was spitting it out... avocado wasn't fully peeled so the skin was shoved inside) I had to take pieces out and remove the skin. First time getting sushi in the area. Probably won't be back here. Service- guy who took order was nice. One guy at counter told me the wrong total when I went to pay. Pretty empty inside at 5:30. Nothing special, my order also wasn't written down correctly. My husband and I sat down to eat but wound up getting take out. I ordered sashimi and SIX HANDROLLS, however, before we left the restaurant with our food, I failed to check our order and wound up only getting one handroll. Bummer because I feel like they would have been really good. The sashimi was fine though, nothing special, but perfectly acceptable. Excellent service! I tried the Hibachi shrimp and you get a lot of food with it, rice, vegetables, soup and salad. It was missing the sauce I used to get at a different place. I will only get sushi next time because I really enjoyed the spicy girl roll. read more

I visited Kiku sushi and Grill a couple weekends ago and order takeout. Unfortunately, I am writing this later and do not remember exactly what I had except the volcano roll? Everything was great especially for the price. If I had the opportunity I would definitely order from this place again. I do not live in the Bradenton area and I do like to try other places so odds are I will not be back here but I would recommend it to anyone living in that area. First I'd like to say we are here on a mini vacay, so we really didn't know what sushi place to choose. We decided to give Kiku a try. We were greeted upon entering and the person was wearing a mask unlike many other places we've been to recently. We were seated and then Mindy approached us wanting to know if we'd like to start off with drinks. I asked her which Sake she would recommend and she suggested the Aladdin Sake. The sake was cold and so fresh in flavor. It was an excellent choice. My husband had the Sushi dinner and I had the Sashimi dinner. Both dinners had generous and fresh portions of fish. You also get soup and salad (it's a choice of soup or salad in most places in NY) I also had a Kani salad that was so delicious and had a nice spicy bite to it, probably the best I ever had-it was on the rather smaller side. I loved it so much here, Mindy was attentive and gave us suggestions. She also walked by filling our glasses with water often. Ok I'll start with the positives first. The sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. Saki was good and hot. Prices were reasonable and decor is nice. Negatives next. Service was terrible. Granted it was busy but this is no excuse. No owner or manager was noticeably present. We were seated fast. Seat was still wet from being wiped down. There was a place setting missing. We wait at least 10-15 minutes for someone to take a drink order at least. I had to glad wait staff down to get the ball rolling. I blame this on management. Good ambience and service. I had the lunch combination roll which was only 16.45 for three rolls (6 pieces each). The rice was a little sparse and little bit chewy but the fillings were soo good. I go to this place at least twice a month. The service is always fast and the food is excellent and reasonably priced

I've always liked this place but it seems like over the past year or two they've been losing their touch a little. They are guilty of committing one of the ultimate sins of a restaurant: increasing prices and diminishing portions! The hibachi portions have shrunk to half of what they used to be! And it seems the portion gets a little smaller each time. Also the sushi rolls are never consistently prepared. They seem to be a little different each time. The employees are nice and the food is good but I don't believe I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

Kiku is always my go to old faithful spot for good sushi with no hassle. I can always count on the service to be quick and efficient, the fish to be fresh and delicious, and the prices to be fair. The only feedback I have for them is that in rolls that contain cucumber, they do not take the skin off and it makes the roll extremely crisp and hard to chew at times. Otherwise, 10/10 this is my hidden gem spot and perfect for dine in, take out, or even delivery! read more
