We recently visited Coast Seafood Grill and were happy to find it. The restaurant sort of stands out in a shopping center that looks rather vacant and dated, but Coast is new and fresh looking. You really have to look for it to find it, so keep your eyes open! We were warmly greeted on a Friday night and seated right away. Ladies, bring a sweater as the A/C works really well inside and my wife immediately started shivering, but I always keep a sweater in the car for her, so she was happy. Our server, isiah, was fantastic. Super friendly, very responsive, and very nice. He is a huge asset to the restaurant, in our opinion. My food was good- I had the Ahi Tuna bowl, which was plenty of food, and the tuna was cooked as I like it- rare. I would ask for less ginger next time as there was a lot in the bowl and I took most of it out. Still, an excellent dish that is more filling than it looks. My wife doesn't like seafood, so she ordered the chicken marsala, which, in both our opinions, either needs to be removed from the menu or reworked completely. The marsala sauce had absolutely no taste- at all. My wife made the remark that she felt like this dish would be served in a old folks home. My wife asked for pasta with it instead of vegetables, and she should have stuck with the veggies, because the linguine was WAY overcooked, and again, no salt or anything- it did taste like the noodles you get in canned soup. Again, I think this dish should be reevaluated, but it won't stop us from coming back because there is so much potential here and I saw quite a few dishes I want to try and the desserts look good, too. The staff is great and the menu looks really good, so we're going to keep coming back in the hopes that my wife finds a dish she likes, because I know I will be happy with my food. By the way, I am not as picky as my wife, and I tasted her food and she was absolutely right about it. read more

Had a great meal here. The service was on the slower side at 7pm on a Wednesday. Restaurant is pretty well-lit--good for families. I had the market catch triple tail with mashed potatoes. The beurre blanc sauce on it was delectable!! I topped it with some hot sauce to give it a little zing and it was amazing. Oysters were super fresh. Soups were good. read more

Dinner and ambiance was great. Service was amazing too. Our party of 3 ordered the Fish and Chips, Pan seared Gtouper and the Grilled Chicken pesto sandwich with fries. We've - crab cake - really good, w/o remoulade sauce - calamari - ok - baked oyster - fine, but hardly any oysters We arrived early, at 4:30, due to the nursery. The bar is busy, but the restaurant is empty. Both house wines are excellent, especially served in Reserve by Libbey. The food is rather bland, but I'm very glad to see the teardrop peppers (also known as Sweety Drops or Biquinho peppers - Amazon), which I've had a lot of in Greece recently. This could easily have been a 5 star review if not for our bar experience. We showed up 1/2 hour early for our reservation (which wasn't correct anyway) to have a drink at the bar. The bar was packed, only 1 empty seat, and only 1 bartender. We waited forever while the bartender waited on everyone seated, with their second or third drink. We were asked if we wanted to sit at a table, but we knew we would still wait since we hadn't even ordered yet. An employee jumped in to help, but didn't know how to make drinks. It was a mess. We took our table after being there 25 minutes and having just got our drinks. Our server was super friendly and brought water quickly. The menu has a nice variety of choices. I settled on the crab cakes with garlic mashed and vegetables. The atmosphere is nice, the music the right volume and the chairs were comfortable. We waited the perfect amount of time for our entrees. Everyone got hot food which is amazing and totally appreciated. All the meals were plated well. My crab cakes were great. They aren't lump crab meat, but had great flavor and the remoulade sauce was the perfect spice. The potatoes were good and the green beans and carrots cooked perfectly. I didn't need the remoulade sauce on the potatoes and veges, but I managed. Our server was attentive the entire time. Food and service was 5 star for sure. read more

As a visitor to the area, a local took us to Coast Seafood Grill. Though located in a shopping center, it offers a modern, pleasant ambiance, and seemed to attract a wide range of customers, from couples to families to groups -- all of whom appeared to be well accommodated. Our server was super awesome -- very personable, attentive and friendly. He was the first to admit that he didn't know the wines well -- and I would have welcomed a better selection, as well. For food though, the menu offers quite a large variety. The fresh oysters were decent and the grouper was quite good. The apple goat cheese salad was okay, but for all it had going on (including candied pecans, dried cranberries and honey lime vinaigrette) -- it should have been far more satisfying that it was. I really wanted this to be great but it was a big disappointment. First, the good: the menu was intriguing. The space was a beautiful renovation of the old enRich space. Bright, open space. Nicely decorated in coastal themes. Starters were mixed. The coconut bread was tasty. Prince Edward Island oysters were great ($5.50/2). Buffalo cauliflower was amazing. The last item? Ahi Tuna Tower. See photo. The Tower was a pyramid and what you see was rice in all 5 sides with about a tablespoon of tuna in each one. Flavors were good but the utter lack of tuna in a $20 app was ludicrous. Onto mains: Two Lobster Tails dinner was ok. Filet & Tripletail were ok. Lobster roll as inedible: half celery, and the lobster was old. Service was on par with what I'd expect at a chain restaurant. When all was said & done, we spent nearly $100/person for an ok dinner. I'm going to stick to my standbys in West Bradenton. read more

This was my first time at Coast Seafood Grill and it did not disappoint! We all shared the pub pretzels and buffalo cauliflower-great appetizers! I really enjoyed the salmon with couscous and veggies. If you want the bread pudding you have to put a request in early-so you better believe we did and half of us shared 2 of them!! It was ah-mazing!! They seated us back in the corner which gave us our own space! The location of the restaurant is a little hidden off of Manatee Ave W but you should put it on your list to try! read more

First and foremost I expected a waterfront type restaurant and patio seating not over looking the parking lot. Also, the star review is a stretch from a 3.5 and that's related to the food and somewhat our server. It's a nice place very open and bright (late afternoon sun can blind you depending on your table) the hostess was nice and accommodating and seated us quickly. They were busy for their St Paddy's day specials. Our server started off great, attentive and got drinks and appetizer done well. He kind of fell off from there the rest of the night. They were busy but that's not an excuse to avoid the table until everyone is done. The food selection and menu is a series of great choices. The grouper platter and Ruben sandwich good. The shrimp and scallop capellini was ok with the seafood hot and the pasta lukewarm. The flat iron ordered medium well was rare-medium rare with the server offering his apologies but nothing else. After that he disappeared again for a while only to ask after the 2nd time to please get the check and split it between the couples. We'll try it again as there were some other items of interest I'd like to try and hopefully have a better experience. read more

This is a nice upscale restaurant with a casual vibe. Service was very friendly and professional. We started with a few drinks that were good and a wedge salad. The salad was tasty but some of the lettuce was wilted. My dinner was the blackened red drum that was delicious. The carrots and green beans were cooked excellent. Very fresh and tasty food. My wife got the chicken scallopini Marsala with vegetables also. Hers was delicious as well. Our server Kennedy was spot on. I would be giving a five star if the salad was better. I was very disappointed to learn they removed Martinis off of their happy hour menu. Bad move. I paid $16 for a Tito's martini it's not even top shelf. Bonefish has $7 Tito's martinis for happy hour. read more

We had high hopes based on the reviews but then reality hit. First impressions were good with a light airy decor, lights a little bright in the dining room side closest to the bar. Stopped by on a Saturday, had reservations and were quickly seated. Greeted quickly by our server who took our drinks orders. Drinks were good. We then ordered and food came out promptly. Wedge Salad. - it's like the kitchen uses all the good outer leaves for their burgers and other dishes and just leaves the center bitter part of the Iceberg for the wedge. So it is not a big wedge but 4 little chunks of the center. Toppings were minimal and the dressing watery and pretty flavorless. Shrimp and Grits Kinda good kinda not. Flavor profile was very good. But either the grits were re-heated or they were not given the time to develop any type of creaminess. They were THICK and lumpy. Overall a disappointing evening. read more

I can't believe this place got good ratings from other customers on yelp. It was horrible. A clam chowder was like wallpaper paste and when I complain to the manager, they try to fix it in the kitchen, but didn't make it better then I had the lobster roll. That was pretty horrible too. Frozen lobster pieces that had no flavor tasted like water and rubber. Someone has been in the food service my whole life. Please don't waste your time. read more

Coast's is a pleasant environment and our server, Erin, was lovely. Almost everything we ordered, a fish dinner, a beef sandwich, the potato soup, was incredibly and nearly inedibly salty though. The only thing not salty was the tomato soup and it was very sweet. My friend enjoyed the tomato soup but otherwise we didn't finish anything. We told Erin and she was dismayed. Another friend said she had a similar experience. None of us will go back, which is really a shame. We eat out a lot and are always up for more local options. read more

We are here on vacation and read a lot of reviews and looked at many menus before deciding on here for our group. We made the right decision! The food was excellent-fresh and plentiful. Prices are reasonable. Service was good. Two observations--You can't see the bar TV because bottles are in the way. Second, the salsa that comes with the chips is so small that you get about three dips of a chip. Otherwise, really happy with all our meals! read more

Loved the sauce - could have been more of it. The polenta obsession is odd. Meatball came on it and it was the standard side for the Marsala, it was bland.
