There was a monumental amount of buffet tables with an abundance of options. The salad bar was my favorite. There were a few vacant crocks but overall lots of options and multiple salad dressings. There were some veggies- I took some of the green bean casserole and it was a disappoint- not seasoned, not creamy- very dry. I had a piece of fish -it was ok, also a couple medium size fried shrimp. I had a hush puppy that was cooked properly and was good. The dessert area had several slices of cake, Jell-O and puddings. All our beverages were refilled constantly by our server who was exceptionally good-she also cleared away the mountain of plates as they were used and put to the side. There really wasn't ambience. It was a lot of people up and down eating a lot of food. The cost of the buffet for one senior and two adults was reasonable. Room for improvement Came here a couple months ago and am thinking of going back soon but hoping for a better experience! The service was very friendly and efficient so there are zero complaints there, they are killing it on that end! The inside of the building could definitely use a bit of a touch up, definitely looks a little outdated in areas and could use a pop of color. The main improvement I think is an easy but needed one though is the freshness of the food. I'm not sure what their protocols are for how long things can sit on the buffet line before being replaced with fresh food but my food wasn't the most fresh. I was there during peak service time too. (5:30-6pm) Overall, I will likely be coming back because American food buffets are practically non existent at this point in Michigan, but I would hope for more fresh, hot food. read more

This isn't a bad spot but the quality could definitely be higher. As a buffet, it's obviously mostly self-serve but there are the people that ring you up, cut the meat and take your dishes. As far as that level of service goes, it was a little slow but I went when busy so I can't complain or judge much. As far as the interior goes, it could use some work but it's more renovations that it needs rather than cleaning. I thought it was pretty clean when I went, however, the dishes probably could've been washed better. As far as the food goes, it was a little disappointing but to be honest, it fed me until I was full and there were some really great options aside from the not so good. This place is the pig trough of Flint. Disgustingly dirty, and food is beyond edible. I was conned into going here for a family dinner- and thought maybe after 8 years since my last visit things would be OK- and they weren't. One table was being used as a bussing station with dirty plates stacked to the ceiling. Menu indicated they had a burger bar until 4:00 pm, and at 3:30 when I asked where it was- was informed they shut it down but now I could get a steak! WOW. Didn't want a steak, I wanted what was advertised. The prices are outrageous for what it is and it's just so dirty and bland. I don't know how this place is in business. read more

Don't waste your money here.The food bar early had any food in it.The floor had garbage and old food ground into carpet. Restrooms look like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. My buddy and I have been there twice this summer. We found it a very good place to eat. Food was good and lunch buffet price is very good. I had the birthday coupon for a free dinner so thought I would give it a try. The first thing I noticed was the odd layout. Drinks here, pay there, what's going on with this place? This place is the lowest form of eatery. Low quality food but as much as you can stomach, or in my case, not. The salads are typical goo out of a bucket while the entrees resemble food from a 50 gallon drum. It's quite possibly the largest wretched assortment of awfulness I've ever seen gathered under one roof. I couldn't figure out what animal the "steak" came from and it was simply blackened outside and raw inside. The topper for me was the sudden inset of explosive diarrhea at the end. It was free (for me at least, still had to pay for my wife's though she vomited in the parking lot) though I didn't get to take it home. It's b-grade food at best but lots of it, and plenty of variety, all for a very low and affordable price. Our visit to this location was just okay. It wasn't the worst Golden Corral visit we've had but it was far from the best. Nice place to eat and easy on the pocketbook. Beware of Sundays: From about 11:30am to 3pm it gets busy with the church crowd. It may be best to take along a little patience. The food? I have found nothing wrong with the food. It's well presented and it seems to meet health department rules. The restaurant always looks clean from tables to the food areas. No 5 stars? We went around 5:30 PM on a Wednesday (yesterday). I'd think this would be prime time when the food should be fresh. Unfortunately, that's not what I experienced. The croutons at the salad bar were mushy. The pepperoni looked stale and tasted horrible. There was food smeared on a couple "clean" bowls. Some of the toasted bread was rock hard. The pizza was old. The fried chicken had clearly been sitting out. A few things were good: the seafood salad, the pot roast, and the desserts. The desserts were truly the saving grace or I would have spoken with management. For $14/adult (not including tip), this was a ripoff. For $7 I'd be giving it 3 or 4 stars. Be careful! I saw an employee grabbing food from the food station as she was walking past with her bare hand and then walking to the back. When this same person came back out, she had gloved hands but she reached for the same stuff and then going to her food station. I walked by and no longer wanted to eat from that station. The bathroom smelled of backed up sewer, I didn't even make it past the bathroom door to smell it. The food were very salty but I've never eaten at other Coral before. Our waitress was attentive. Finally get a plate, then stood and waited for fajita meat (shrimp, chicken and steak were all empty except for vegetables) Asked for some meat. Guy on grill said to other guy "thought you put the fajita meat out?" and then no one did anything while we stood and waited with 4 other people. While standing there we watched 15-20 people gather around the plate area, all waiting for plates. Not every table was occupied so not sure why plates were a problem. Golden Corral is, well, it's Golden Corral. No one goes here expecting the greatest meal they have ever had. You go there for large amounts of food that isn't bad. The salad bar is above par. Everything was fresh. The dessert bar was average. Mostly frozen cakes and pies. Not bad though. The main dishes were not bad as well. Nothing to make you write home, but not unpleasant to eat. At this point, it would get 3 stars.Two things knock it down to 2 stars. Price and service. The majority of the staff seemed burdened to be there. Our server, Angel, was the only exception. She was very friendly and prompt. The rest of the of the staff were either rude or just ignored you. I did not find any of the food I tried good, the fries were tastless, the chicken tasted bad, and the rolls were hard.

We've been here twice in the last 12 months. Very expensive for a buffet. Two adults with two children we paid $48 which doesnt include a tip. The food quality is low, instant mashed potatos, canned corn, etc. The plates aren't washed well, leftover food bits, make sure you wipe the silverware down too. The waitresses are over worked but do the best they can under the circumstances. This is not a place I'll be going back too. read more
