First, I've heard of this place in Chicago, where I believe it originated. Most of the Metro Detroit suburbs have a Potbelly now. The staff and food are both top-notch on Miller Rd in Flint...always smiling, joking and making sure that they construct your sandwich and/salad while making your lunch experience very pleasurable. Thursday and Friday sets its cozy, comfortable atmosphere apart from any other sandwich shop of its kind as they have a live, unplugged acoustic musician playing great music and even plays requests! It's a great place for a quick hearty lunch any day of the week, but Thursday and especially Friday can get you moving into the weekend frame of mind with the upbeat fun they provide! If you haven't been there I highly recommend that you give Potbelly a try real soon...preferably on Thursday or Friday between noon & 2:00 pm for some great lunchtime music! read more

Stopped in today for lunch - walked in to one girl working - stood there next to order for 5-7 minutes and She Never said hi or even acknowledged me! I walked out - Lunch time and sorry ass owner had one Dumb ass girl working that really didn't want to be there! Had to pick up a "drive-thru" work order today, for 5-6 people. Got to the drive-thru and was told had to come inside the restaurant to pick up the order because of all the order names, blah, blah, blah. Went into the store and picked up the 6 sandwiches, and 1 bottle of pop that could've easily been handed out at the window. Asked employee to please put them all in a larger bag...the employee handed my coworker and bag, and literally walked away. She had to do it herself. There were no cars in the drive-thru while there, and there was no one in the restaurant. Not sure why, when placing a drive-thru order, anyone would be asked to go inside to pick up. (Doesn't this defeat the very purpose???) The employee was rude, lazy, and not wanting to help any more than was absolutely necessary. She didn't even say thank you as she chucked the bag across the counter for us to fill. Horrible customer service. No plans to go back any time soon- if ever. Recently finished jury duty in Genesee County Court. Jurors get their lunches catered, and one day we ordered from this Potbelly's. I'm a Potbelly's fan. This was my first sandwich from this particular location. I'm relatively new to the area but my old location in Royal Oak I'd hit at least once every 3 or 4 months for several years. Loved it. The execution did not match what I knew in Royal Oak. Biggest complaint was the bread wasn't baked nearly long enough. If I didn't know the sandwich came from PB I wouldn't have guessed. It was that unrecognizable. I didn't think such underbaked bread to be even possible. It was not a great sandwich. On the order sheet I asked for some modifications. When I opened my box I found a note informing me that on this type of order extra onions could not be supplied. Mildly disappointing but the care taken to write the note in the first place was professional and appreciated. And I got a chocolate chip cookie which was pretty darned good. That helped. Unfortunately because I live in Grand Blanc its not likely I'll be visiting this location any time soon. Just a bit too far to drive for a sandwich. If someone would put a PB location in GB I'd *really* like that. Hint hint. read more

This was terrible. The lady at the front where you start to order your food was so mean and had a terrible attitude. She was not nice at all. I would never recommend coming here in the morning. I however have had a good experience before, later at night. The people that work at night are so nice and respectful and the food was great. 0-10 would not recommend going in the morning. if you want to go, go later in the day. read more

It's unfortunate that this was sub par because I was sick and needed some soup. The majority the soups were creamy. Chicken pot pie soup was yummy but very rich. The sandwich did not have a lot of flavor or texture to it! The salad was also very lackluster. I got it through grub hub so maybe that had something to do with it, but, probably won't pursue this restaurant (at least in Flint) again. read more

Most places when you order lunch/dinner, the way the sandwich looks on the website is how it comes. Obviously not with this company. You have to tell them you want veggies along with mayo or must etc or you just get a meat sandwich. This should be made known on their website so for people who have never had their food will know they need to tell everything you want on your sandwich. I was very disappointed that all I had with my Turkey was mayo and bread. NO veggies, NO cheese... very very disappointed. I could of made a better sandwich at home and brought it to work. read more

Pretty abysmal. My husband and I stopped in a few weeks ago for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat while out holiday shopping. We had never tried any Potbelly location before and based on this experience, we never will again. How I wish we'd stopped elsewhere- seriously, anywhere else. Granted, this is just a sandwich shop, fast food, more or less, but it was just not good. My husband ordered roasted chicken sandwich, while I picked the so-called "built to order" mac and cheese entree. I love baked mac and cheese and often order it when dining out. I did not, however, like this "baked" mac and cheese. First thing we noticed right off the bat was the slightly surly and abrupt girl waiting on us at the front counter. She looked as if she'd rather be anywhere else on earth and barely grumbled at us. She couldn't adequately explain the "built to order" mac and cheese concept. Despite that, I still ordered it, in part because none of the sandwiches on the menu board appeared terribly appetizing. The next girl at the counter tossed a topping of wet, ice cold "roasted red peppers" onto my mac and cheese dish in a haphazard manner. I also took notice of the fact she was only wearing one glove! Nice! What's the point of wearing one glove instead of none or both? Hmm. Very unhygienic in a restaurant. Our food was ready within moments. True, they were fast, but not good. The mac and cheese was lukewarm and obviously was sitting in a warmer all day, perhaps longer. The limp, ice cold roasted rep pepper toppings were soaking wet and ruined the entire meal. Who on earth would think ice cold, limpid red peppers that were billed as roasted red peppers would be ideal as a topping on a baked mac and cheese dish? Not me. I want to know who had the bright idea to let the roasted red peppers get mushy, ice cold and soaking wet before topping the mac and cheese? Lame. The noodles were cooked unevenly and every few bites I bit into a hard, partially uncooked piece. It was gross and I immediately got indigestion following our meal. My husband's sandwich was a little lackluster and he said the portion was a bit small for the price. He said the quality was barely average and honestly, it did not look very appetizing to either one of us. The portion size of his sandwich was so paltry that he was hungry again only hour later. After we split an ice tea, we still spent about $15 on a very unsatisfying meal. Hmm. For that money, we could have split a sub somewhere else or hit some drive through on Miller Road and been more satisfied. We were tempted to ask for our money back, but didn't. Wish they had a larger sandwich selection. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich & it wasnt great. It sort of left an aftertaste that youd rather not have. I prefer my chicken salad with celery, apples or grapes and almonds, chocked full of yummy stuff. This tasted more like plain chicken & mayo. Mac & cheese was decent. Quick service during lunch. My wife and I tried this chain today while doing some Black Friday shopping and both enjoyed the quality of the food received. The sandwiches were good and the only fault we could find was with pricing being a bit on the high side. I had a cup of chili and the serving was barely half way full. The Zapp's potato chips were awesome, so much so that we actually went online and ordered some to be delivered to our home. Let's just say I'm not a big sandwich person, but Potbelly's sandwiches are heavenly! The food- is DELICIOUS! It came super fast which was great. It also came warm and fresh. I absolutely loved how warm it was. The place itself was so cute! It had cute signs that made the place friendly. There was one thing that made me not rate this Potbelly a 5. The past two times I've been to pot belly I've had something completely missing from our meal or don't have the full ingredients of what is asked for. What's even more frustrating is not feeling confident that I can leave the drive through with everything that I ordered. I shouldn't have to check every time to make sure I have the food that I ordered, but it looks like that is what I'm going to have to do. I didn't get a receipt this time to write a survey or at least talk with someone who might be able to make this right. Best sandwich shop around! You can just taste the freshness, the bread is so warm soft and inviting. The peppers are HOT, so order them on the side, everyone's heat tolerance varies. I love the peppers! This is now my go to place, blows subway and jimmy Johns out of the water! Bonus is the new orlean kettle chips, voodoo heat is the best! And to top it off order a shake made to order with hard scoop ice cream which comes with 2 snack cookies. The a wreck, turkey, Mediterranean, and hammie are my favorite but I have not had a sandwich there that wasn't delicious! read more

Stopped here for lunch. First time and the location has only been open for a few months now. Service was prompt and very friendly. We ordered the Turkey sandwiches, both which were very delicious. You have a choice of a variety of toppings, but if you want the hot pepper mix, I suggest on the side for your first time. They were SPICY (at least to me). The wife loved them. They also have New Orleans Zappos kettle style potato chips in a few of their flavors. We like these! This is my second time ordering from PotBelly. The first time I ordered to Salads, that we were very pleased with. This time we ordered two salads and two BLTA Sandwiches. The Sandwiches needed much improvement. The bacon was burnt around the edges. Didn't see any avocado on the sandwiches. Needed much more lettuce and tomatoes on them, had one small slice on both, with a small amount of wilted lettuce. We added Miracle whip to our sandwiches, to add more flavor. Plain old Mayo wasn't doing it for us. Don't think we'll be ordering that type of sandwich again from Potbelly. Salad were very good. The Potbelly dressing needs much improvement. And can you offer a French and Italian dressing choice for your Salads ? Potbelly, please do better with your BLTA sandwiches ! Bacon deserve better treatment. He came back to the window with the food.. made zero eye contact holding the bag out the window. He finally made eye contact when I told him that his lack of customer service was concerning. Excellent, didn't want anything to do with any other sub place after one visit here. Took my wife and daughter and they felt the same. I'm not a fan of cold subs and these are toasted similar to a Quiznos sub. Both the Wheat and white breads are delicious. My favorites are the Turkey, beef and the wreck. read more
