I give them 2 1/2 on Christmas Day... we went early and got the first food set out. Meals were over $21 plus drink. The food set out was all the same as every other day- Plus turkey that was okay, and cranberries The dressing, which was like Stovetop (not as good) and roast pork. I guess its buyer beware. Just because they advertise certain dishes, it seems subject to the management putting out cheap substitutes. I did find it a bit bold that they advertised steak and butterfly shrimp and laid out the cheap breaded shrimp despite all of the promotional signs. As always, the steak is hit and miss and they didn't have the usual sugar free desserts or the pecan pie for that matter. Deviled eggs are history for obvious reasons. If you get there too early, you get the dried out leftover cake and such. Better to go in the afternoon when stuff has turned over. It's a lot of money to eat at Golden Corral these days. Reserved the room for 35 people. Got there at the time that it was reserved for us. There were people in there eating. Went back up front to talk to them about it and told us we had to deal with it. So we couldn't sit together. It was all on one bill so it was a mess trying to figure out what drinks went where. Waitress got rude me when I explained we were all supposed to be sitting together. The food was so cold when I got there me and my grandma both got a piece of steak and it was super cold it wasn't even good we got bunches of different options and everything was cold and not fresh. The drinks are 2.99 and they tasted like crap like you couldn't taste the actual drink itself, the only thing that was really good to me was the pizza. They are not friendly to bariatic surgery lifestyle change patrons that want to enjoy eating out with their family. They offer no reduced rate for individuals that can only eat less then a youngster therefore turning away a whole family. Mgmt stated owners rule as some that have the bariatic card can eat as much as a regular patron. So charge them full price when you realize they are eating more, do you charge extra plus size people extra? I'm sure them make up for what you are losing on a small size person. How about senior or children's price that's all I asked, therefore turning away our family and where we went was much more accommodating and better. Hmmm....where to begin. Definately not a go to place for me, especially on the weekend. If you go during the week during normal lunch or dinner times it isn't too bad. If you go outside those hours, the food is lacking in freshness. We have hardly ever had good service here. It takes awhile for servers to come around and give refills. I avoid this place at all costs on weekends & holidays. When I go out to eat, I like to enjoy my meal in a relaxed and somewhat quiet environment. This place is NOT like that on the weekends. Well....we've been to many locations in a several states. The two Columbus locations we've been to have definitely let us down so I was not looking forward to trying this one. My son really wanted Golden Corral for dinner since we were in a hurry and would be in the area. So I called ahead to make sure this location was actually open and to get pricing. I talked to Renee who was very nice and answered all my questions. We got there about 5:30 and it wasn't really crowded which made me think the food wasn't going to be as fresh. Let me start by saying that we went to the Grove City and Columbus locations several times and they never seem to have the advertised dishess available, food isn't fresh, and good luck getting help at the carving station. This location definitely has higher standards. The restaurant was more clean, food was more fresh, the employees were friendly, and they had people at the carving station. The salad at area was clean and had lots of options. Same for the dessert area. My son was excited to see cotton candy there. The main bar had plenty of options and most items were pretty fresh. The ribs were replenished before the last two were gone (huge improvement over some other locations). Same for the meatloaf and the fish. The were only a couple things that looked like they had been sitting out for a bit. The only negative things I have to say - Our waitress didn't come by often and the bourbon chicken (not sure if that's what it's called) didn't taste good. It looked super dark like it had been out too long but it wasn't dried out so I don't know what the deal was. My son can usually eat a whole plate of that and rice but he couldn't even finish his first serving of it. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised by our visit. read more

The shrimp was bland and the frostee flavors are way too spontaneous (watermelon, orange, limeade). I remembered a few years ago you used to be able to get scooped ice cream, but that is discontinued. My dear friend Ruth likes to eat here and on occasion I do as well albeit after seeing online videos about how management at GC restaurants treat their food during inspections by state inspectors (see Orlando, FL Golden Corral + meat left outside hot weather) which obviously makes me a wee bit nervous. Because what happened there may not be nationwide let alone company wide, agreed? With that said, GC has amped up their prices and yet the two of us eat there a couple of times a month in the afternoon when elderly people go to hit the rock bottom price time before the 5 pm rush. The food is great. I've found very little I did not care for. Their pot roast is terrific! I love the fried fish. Ruth is nuts about their ribeye steaks, fresh baked rolls and New Orleans Bourbon Street chicken. The desserts are uber sugary thus why they cut slices into smaller than average pieces yet each still satisfies your sugar craving. Another thing we love about GC is their salad bar. The variety of fresh veggies, beans and dressings makes it one of our favorite bars to visit. read more

This place could use some attention. We came last Saturday around noon. Place was busy but I'm not sure why. Food wasn't good, service was very lacking, and prices high. Salad tasted extremely bitter and my steak was so fatty I couldn't eat one bite. I should have known when we arrived this was gonna be bad. The people at the entrance didn't even give us a tray for our family of six drinks... kinda hard to carry that much for 1 mom! Seating was limited and no one to help us find a place. Once we found a place the people there didn't offer refills my husband had to go pour himself a pop! Place seemed dirty and no one was coming to get plates so they piled up quickly. Yesterday the wife and I were driving into Ontario. We though I wonder if Golden corral is busy, open, or even safe to go for a lunch. Not knowing if we will need to dawn one of the ever popular face masks. So we called and the gentleman that answered the phone said they are open, and the only difference was they would need to serve like a cafeteria style lines. Also that the servers were the only ones needing to wear masks. I specifically asked is the food being used quick enough to keep it in a rotation that its still hot? His answer was soon proven incorrect. Our food was cold, not room temp, and not warm COLD I had a burger that with every bite the thought of dying from covid seemed more pleasant than choking on this dry, cold burger with no toppings because the bbq sauce and other condiments were no where to be seen. After asking the waitress for some it never arrived. Although she was busy with her other 3 customers. Only one waitress did I notice never took her mask below her nose. ALL of the others had from the time we walked in. The wife had their fish, I'm not sure what kind it was but I can assure you it was a cold water fish lol. I have had sushi that was warmer. She feels the temp was possibly 75 degrees. The chicken we both had was cold and dry and very old. The tenders were just as old and cold. We won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend others going ESPECIALLY ELDERLY the discipline of masks was just too scary. read more

When you walk into the Ontario Golden Corral, you'll feel like you've died and went to trailer park heaven. If you don't mind everyone around you being dressed in their finest two sizes too small shirts and rhinestone jeans looking like a bedazzled busted can of biscuits, then the atmosphere shouldn't be an issue! The servers here are polite and attentive and I feel bad for them because I know the majority of them aren't making tips when it's costing their regular customers over $60 a family to eat here. 1st and 15th of the month are probably big days for the Corral. The food really isn't that bad though even if it's being cooked by a prison inmate staff. It would be nice if they knew the difference between medium rare and medium well done steak though. I gotta give the ranch props for being a really tasty house made dressing, the salad and fruit buffet is totally on point. The dessert area is nice too, with the famous chocolate fountain you can pour on literally any food item you choose too. All in all it's not that bad of a place, come during lunch hours and beat the crowd. read more

The water is the most nasty thing I have ever drink, the chicken was very dry and some weird smell that smell like bad cheese.

I normally love Golden Corral. This experience, however, was not golden at all. My experience with this restaurant was during a business trip a little while back; my colleague and I had stopped here en route between Cincinnati and Buffalo. Almost immediately, one waitress named Pam began to find ways to treat us like garbage because we were dressed what, to her, qualified as outlandish (piercing on my lip and nose, skinny jeans, etc - it was after work hours, and we weren't going to spend eight hours in a car in suits). One example of the aforementioned nasty treatment by Pam was telling my colleague, in front of other people, to 'get a belt, [his] pants are lose.' I was also screamed at by her for eating an ice cream cone while walking back to the table as opposed to eating it while sitting; meanwhile, other patrons were doing the same without any ill consequence, which really clued me off as to her selective treatment of us. We eventually ended up complaining to the manager, who was very apologetic and offered a comp of our meals. I politely refused; it wasn't his fault. All I asked was that he speak to Pam about her treatment of us, which he agreed to do. I come to a restaurant to feel at home. This made both my friend and I feel like outcasts. I don't foresee myself coming back to the Mansfield/Ontario area ever again, but if I did for whatever reason, I would avoid this Golden Corral like the plague. read more

I don't understand how this restaurant manages to ruin every food. I tried lots of different things, from the deviled eggs to the sauteed mushrooms, to fried okra to onion rings. All flavorless trash. Service was fine I suppose, but it doesn't matter how nice you are if you're serving me a plate of lukewarm flavorless mush. being a buffet I'm serving myself, so they avoid a second courtesy star. We went to Golden Corral for dinner to celebrate my niece's birthday we got there just before 8pm and the carving station was closed at 8:30 and the dessert bar looked disgusting!! Well firstly , I normally am a fan of this place, The Bourbon Street Chicken is what i go there to get specifically (I mean i eat other things also, but the chicken is my main dish), Anyways I was very dissatisfied with the service as well as the way they treated me upon trying to get some new chicken out, They wouldn't put any new chicken out because the one there was full, Well the one that was there an full was full for obvious reasons, It was DRY and HARD , So upon further trying to eat I had broken a tooth on yes, you guessed it... DRY HARD chicken!, Needless to say I am not very pleased with this experience, I hope this isn't the experience I encounter next time or I will be done eating at this buffet in which I used to be a fan. read more
