A solid place to go on most occasions! My wife and I took my mom out to breakfast. They both ordered variations of the sunrise breakfast to include the hash brown casserole on fried apples with biscuits while I ordered their steak and eggs. My wife and mom and mom both raved about their sunrise breakfast. Unfortunately, the steak for my steak and eggs was pedestrian at best. My father-in-law wanted to eat there for his birthday and had his heart set on the campfire grill. My wife and I arrived early and our guests were running about 20 minutes behind. We told the person in charge of seating that our party was running behind however, they set us anyway. Then shortly after seating us, they told us that they shouldn't have seated us because our party is not there yet. One waitress took our drink order then 10 minutes later another waitress told us that she would be taking over our table from the previous waitress. Once we were all seated, my father-in-law tried to order his campfire Grill and was told that they are out of the campfire grill and he could not order it even though there were still flyers on every table advertising the campfire grill. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and after everyone was served, she got chicken strips instead of her sandwich and sent them back. She did not get her sandwich for at least 20 minutes when everyone was done eating. The waitress apologized for the issue and gave her a three dollar dessert item to compensate her for not having her dinner with the rest of us. Very poor Service lackluster food. This was my inaugural visit to one of these stores. Very interesting concept. Menu definitely caters to the early bird diner, and was diverse. Food was average. Service was interesting. We had a young person, obviously new to the workforce and definitely never trained to wait tables. His table manners need some improvement and hovering is one I do not enjoy. Dirty / Smelly / Yuck - THE WORST CRACKER BARREL EVER The dining area floor was so dirty and greasy/slippy in this restaurant that I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone slips and falls on it. The tables and chairs both were sticky, as if they had not been properly cleaned for ages. I wanted to put a napkin down under my plate area so my skin would not stick if I happened to touch the table. It left me wondering if the tableware and silverware were clean. Do not waste your time or money! A second Cracker Barrel where I have had a terrible experience. This time I ordered the shrimp in the basket. THEY RAN OUT OF COCKTAIL SAUCE!! Why would you serve a dinner without the key ingredient. They unsuccessfully tried to make cocktail sauce that was terrible. I was really disappointed with the dinner. We went to Cracker Barrel today and found that they have a new menu. I couldn't get the roast beef that they use to have and now they have a roast beef with carrots, onions, celery. I don't like onions and celery so I went with the chicken instead. I got the chicken fried chicken and it was good. The sides dishes I got was green beans (which has been changed and is not very good.) I also got carrots which was good and mashed potatoes with white gravy. Just drove through an apocalyptic hail storm heading from Cincinnati to Cleveland, and decided to stop into this Cracker Barrel for some much needed comfort food. The food was delicious (as it always is), and the staff were friendly and moved with a sense of urgency. The most amazing thing happened though. When our server came to check on us she told us that someone had paid our entire bill! We've been to several Cracker Barrel's and I must say this one has been the best so far, because our server was the best we've had in at least the last 5 CB's we have visited. First time at this one, driving through Ohio. We were seated promptly and our server, Jules, came to the table almost immediately. He was knowledgeable with the menu, personable, professional, courteous and attentive. We were quite impressed with him, especially given his age (college age); our last several have been slow, inattentive and lacking good customer service. We ordered the chicken and dumplings dinner with sides of steak fries and fried apples. The food came out quickly and was hot, tasty, and yummy, the ultimate in comfort food. Of course our biscuits were delicious and there were no leftovers. Any visit to Cracker Barrel wouldn't be complete without a trip to their general store, where we purchased various items (but no candy this time!!) Only one photo from today; too busy enjoying. Sadly, our experience on 7-1-2024 at the 100 Stander Avenue in Mansfield Ohio was terrible. We were a party of 6 , I arrived at 4:50 pm and the rest of our party arrived around 5:10 to celebrate my grandson's birthday. After ordering it took almost an hour for our food to arrive, we ordered 3 chicken and dumplings dinners, one meatloaf dinner, a grilled chicken dinner and I ordered the hamburger steak, plus drinks. My hamburger steak was very dry, and did not present well on the plate all of our orders of mashed potatoes were cold and hard with the gravy over the top having a film on it from sitting. And my fries were cold. My grandson also ordered mac and cheese with his chicken and dumplings and they literally scraped the bottom of the BURNT pan and served that on his plate, he ended up trying to pull out all the blackened mac and cheese pieces. Our server who was young was polite and did keep stopping by the say, "hopefully it won't be much longer" However, no new drinks were provided until I asked for them, which sadly was when all the ice had melted and there was nothing left but watered down beverages. Food wise the only thing that was good in my opinion were the biscuits, however, they were not brought to the table until after our meals were brought. Looking around the restaurant there were several oil lamps with no chimney (globe) including ours. The game that sits on the table that is a staple of Cracker Barrel was missing many of the wood pieces. Making it impossible if someone were to want to play it. It was not a busy evening in my opinion. There were many empty tables available. A lady who was possibly the manager did keep coming out and stood by the fireplace several times, however, at no time did I see her interacting with any guests, she appeared more lost than anything. What is really sad for me is I worked at this particular restaurant many years ago and at that time the food, service and management was exceptional. Let me first start off by saying our waitress was terrific! However other than that this is the worst experience I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. I told the manager Celeste how many was in my party and was told just to let her know when everyone arrived, which I did. We ended up waiting for an hour for a table after the fact. What really made it bad was she was unapologetic and when the host asked if she wanted him to go clean the table for us she told him "No...we are short staffed" then continued on by saying i(n front of us mind you) "I'm going to clean a table but not that one"...then when we finally got a table she brings the high chair over and throws it at the table and walks off.
