This place is a local dive and everyone in surrounding areas talks about this place. It's been around for years. When you go here picture yourself at a little dive diner joint. Because that's exactly what it is, a dive. The menu has a variety of things but the only thing I have tried here has been the burgers, curly fries, onion rings, and milkshakes. I love the Cheeseburgers, milkshakes and Curly Fries. Beware you will probably want a nap after eating here but it is totally a locally loved place and is usually packed. When you order you walk up to the little window and wait for your food. It usually takes about 15 minutes when they aren't busy so expect wait times when they are busy. A friend and I were debating who has the best ice cream, and I said Sonic has the best. They insisted I had to try Golden Dairy's soft serve because it was "the best I'd ever have." I ordered the chocolate soft serve, and unfortunately, it wasn't for me. It had a flavor that reminded me of popsicle sticks, with a synthetic aftertaste. I wouldn't order it again. In my opinion, Sonic still has the creamiest, best-tasting ice cream. I also tried the burger. The size was comparable to a McDonald's hamburger. The patty was a little on the salty side, but it had good flavor overall. I'd probably order the burger again, although I'd need more than one because it's not very filling. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. The employee at the drive-thru didn't seem very friendly and gave the impression that she didn't enjoy being there. While I was waiting, another customer had been waiting around 20 minutes for his food. When he asked about it, it sounded like his order had been forgotten. They offered him a refund, but he replied, "No, I'm hungry. I want my food." Overall, the food was okay, but I think this place could really improve its customer service and overall experience. read more

This is the worst food in Rogersville Tennessee went there and ordered a double cheeseburger and a french fri my girl friend got the same first of all the buns had mold on them and were stale as a six week old buscuit and the fries were so greasy fried in the same oil that had been in the fry vat since they open the place ordered a milkshake to drink with my meal it was fake tasting softserve in a cup wit a straw in it I've lived here since 2010 and ate here off and on in my life coming from sneedville and back or this guy I used to work with always wanted to go there its gross I have no idea how they are still in business they have to be paying some health inspector off or they just are family with some police officer ir the damn mayor otherwise they'd have to shut down a place that serves molded bread don't eat here read more

A lot of food for the price but it's not worth eating. Food came out suspiciously fast burger patties tasted re-heated. Not to often I get home and throw my whole plate away. Fries were fresh but no seasoning at all. Burgers tasted and looked like mystery meat. Would not go back. read more

It breaks my heart to write this review. In all honesty, I love the Golden Dairy, but after the way some of my dear friends were treated, I will NEVER be back. For the past five years, a mission team from Forest Park, Georgia, has been coming to work in our area with our church. Visits to The Golden Dairy have always been a highlight of their trip. During this last visit, three of the young men (who happen to be black) with the mission team were taken by one of the leaders to get ice cream. When the young men walked up to the window, the woman working the window refused to serve them. At this point, the leader (who happens to be white), walked up and asked what the problem was. The woman at the window responded, "Oh, are they with you?" The leader said, "Yes, were part of a mission team working with the local church." The woman working the window replied, "Sorry. We didn't know." Here's my question: WHY DOES IT MATTER??? These fine, upstanding young men had done nothing. They simply walked up to a window to order ice cream. Yes, as a business, The Golden Dairy has the right to refuse service. Had the boys been causing a disturbance or behaving inappropriately, a refusal of service would have been warranted, but in this instance, The Golden Dairy displayed blatant, ignorant, pompous, inexcusable racism. Rogersville is a wonderful place to live, and The Golden Dairy is an iconic Rogersville establishment. It saddens me to know that such an iconic part of our fine little town is so naive and rude. I realize that most people won't read this, and many who do won't care, but I and my family will never again frequent this establishment. We will in no way support this kind of hate. read more

Milkshakes! The milkshakes were amazing! We ordered a pineapple shake and a banana shake and both contained the real fruit, not just squirts of flavoring syrup. The giant cheeseburger is truly giant, I didn't fully understand what we were getting into. read more

Local little dive, kids like the hamburgers and fries I ordered a salad. The salad was just iceberg lettuce cut that they put on their burgers with artificial bacon bits tiny ham cubes and shredded cheese and tomato. I was so hungry for a good salad this was not it. We got ice cream afterwards it was very good and the hot fudge sundae was excellent. My husband got the foot-long hotdog with chili was not that good. read more

Everything here is good, and affordable. We eat here at least 1-2 times a week. The ice cream is the best I have ever had. Additionally, they use REAL bacon and LOTS of it if you add it to anything. If you go early enough you simply must try the old faved pot roast sandwich. read more
