Placed my order with only slight problems, the guy taking my order had a very strong accent which made it hard to understand what he was saying. The delivery guy was prompt, but when I took everything out of the bag they had given me something which was most definitely not lo mein. I called to let them know they had got my order wrong and they informed me that that was in fact their lo mein. The guy on the phone proceeded to yell at someone else in the shop in chinese while still on the phone with me, said they were closed, and then told me that he would come by the next day to "show me how to eat it". Frustrated with crummy Annapolis Chinese food? Look no further. I have lived in Annapolis for three years and I had nearly given up hope about finding good Chinese food. What makes me qualified to say what is good Chinese? I grew up just outside NYC and have lived in multiple other states where you could find good Chinese. To be honest, the best tips for finding this place came from other reviews...the rude service, the lack of proper English spoken over the phone, located in a slum shopping center, etc. To the casual observer these would be turn offs, but anyone who has ever had good Chinese knows these are exactly what you are looking for. After deciding to give this place a try, I saw several clues along the way that made me more confident that I was on the right track. This place is a hole in the wall off Forest Drive in a slightly suspect area (clue 1). The menu is a lighted sign with pictures of the entrees above the counter (clue 2). There are no chairs or tables inside, it is strictly carry out or delivery (clue 3). I ordered the General Tso's combination platter with an extra side of pork fried rice. It was literally ready in 8 minutes. Everything came out hot and fresh. It is typical (atypical for Annapolis) chinese food. Nothing fancy, just good soul-warming Chinese. Egg roll was crispy and hot and sour soup was great too. Only negative is that pork fried rice isn't standard with the combo and it came in a styrofoam container instead of the trademark metal container. If your looking for gourmet stuff go to PF Changs, otherwise go here- it won't disappoint. read more

Decided to order Chinese food and have not established a favorite yet. Had picked up a menu that was left out front, which was from Golden Dragon. Ordered Kung Pao Shrimp, Hunan Beef, Szechuan String Beans, and Vegetable Rolls. Except for the rolls, these are all on the spicy side. I was very happy with the food. It was hot, had a nice spice, and quite tasty. And the food came in a reasonable amount of time. The large size provides at least 3 servings each for 1 person, except the rolls since there are just two. Overall, I enjoyed the food and will order again. read more

Wow. I let the reviews here convince me this place was worth a try, in spite of being located in a slum shopping center next to Pizza Boli's. Was I wrong. I ordered a combination dinner. I haven't tried the soup yet. Not sure I want to. The "fried rice" was plain rice with soy sauce on it. I think I found one tiny dessicated piece of egg in there, and perhaps a scrap of onion. Vegetables? Meat? Forget it. The "General Tso's Chicken" was in such a thick, clotted sauce as to be practically inedible. The eggroll was overcooked, and 99% cabbage inside. They might have a piece of meat on a string, but it didn't break when they were cooking my order. Stay away. There are way better places. read more

I've been ordering from Golden Dragon for about a month now and initially really loved their food. I ordered a vegetarian mixed vegetable meal from Golden Dragon at least five times. Unfortunately, last Friday I found pieces of meat in my food. Initially, the first small piece I found ruined my appetite so I put my food to the side to return to it, understanding that people make mistakes. A day and a half later I reheated my food and ended up chewing into a bite size chunk of chicken. A whole bite sized piece!!! I almost threw up. How does various pieces of meat end up being added to a strictly vegetarian meal? I am utterly disappointed. That shows absolute carelessness in their preparation. I thought I would give them a second chance tonight, but it still took an hour and a half! They are less than three miles away from me, and it is a Monday night, so it was completely ridiculous. I was really hoping this place would be great, because they only require a $12 order for delivery. The other Chinese restaurants I've checked out have a minimum of $20. First of all, the lady who answered quickly hung up on me before asking about payment options so I had to call her back to inform her I'd be paying by card. Tips by card have to be paid for over the phone--thus, in advance of receiving your order. That's obviously annoying. They were pretty fast with delivery; 35 minutes. The delivery person was quite nice. However, the food wasn't hot and the serving of rice was tiny. We ordered General Tsos and beef lo mein. Neither had flavor. I have never had such bland food. Moreover, I requested that my General Tsos be hot. It lacked heat completely. Overall, I really regretted my order. read more

I love Chinese food I order all the time. We always get delivery which is great but the only thing I don't like is that the Chinese lady. She always demand a tip over the phone which is like saying if you don't give a tip a don't get a tip you don't get your food. Don't go to this place find another Chinese restaurant. I've been ordering from Golden Dragon for 10 years. That's right I said 10 years. I usually have them delivery my food to my house. I ordered food yesterday the deliver guy was mad because I didn't give him a tip. Where does it say by law that I have to give a tip if the food is delivered. So I ordered again the following day the driver said that he would not delivery to my door anymore. He brought my food stayed in his car told me to come get my food. Now if I am not mistaken in your job description your suppose come to the customer door as a delivery driver. So when I went outside he said to me he is not coming to my door. He told the manager that one time I did not come to the door when he was there. He lied to her so that he wouldn't have to delivery anymore to my house because I didn't tip him. Every time he comes to my house he gets mad because I don't tip. But nothing in there delivery requires you to tip its a $12 minimum for delivery. Given the choice, I'd give zero stars.I ordered the crispy beef and the teriyaki skewers. It took a very long time to get here, so no surprise the skewers were cold and very tough. Kinda like really skinny beef jerky with hoisin sauce on top.The crispy beef had red chilies next to it on the menu indicating spicy. It was described as "Spicy Crispy Beef...11.75 - Hot! Tender slices of beef fried in a spicy sauce." I received what I thought was orange chicken. It was swimming in an orange syrupy goop with just a hint of carrot and celery. The "beef" was battered, not what I was expecting, but that can be good, except that it's 90% batter and 10% mystery meat. I called and was told that was what I ordered and that was that. I said this isn't even a little bit spicy, she said Chinese food isn't usually spicy!!! Say What?!! She wouldn't address the issue, said it isn't worth sending her driver out and she might give me my money back if I brought it to them. I ordered delivery since I wasn't feeling well.
