Simply put if you come here stick with the sushi's the entree dishes are "just okay" and nothing to write home about. The service was decent and kind of slow but once you get your order in expect your food to come fast. Overall things a small place with the most popular and frequent visitors being midshipmen..no surprise there. So here is what you're waiting for. This is a three star rating and for those coming back is usually a I'll pass, but in this case I'd come back again and again for the sushi on a slow day. Stay away from the entrees. I would highly recommend anybody visiting Annapolis to eat at Nano. It was so delicious and honestly very affordable. Surprisingly, it was not busy so the service was quick and quiet ambiance. I went out for ice cream across the street then realized I was hungrier than I thought. So, I walked across the street to try Nano Asian Dining. Great choice. The server was hospitable, friendly, & knew the menu well. The restaurant was cute and clean. I tried 3 rolls. The rock'n roll was shrimp tempura, cucumber, eel, & avocado topped with eel sauce. It was my favorite of the three. The crunch shrimp tempura is a standard & my go to. I haven't enjoyed the Philadelphia roll at other establishments but this one was pretty good. It's the right ratio of salmon to cream cheese & they didn't mix the 2 ingredients together. Three tasty rolls was just enough to cure my hunger pains without feeling stuffed. Great place to eat! Clean, cute, modern, and great service. I don't know her name, but she was short, dressed in all black, and had really long black hair and recommended us a chiropractor - which went really well by the way. We had a nice lunch. Our usual Joss' was closed so we decided let's give this a try. I will admit the menu was nice and full of all sorts of goodies. I really wanted to try the drunken noodles based on a recommendation, but we were there for sushi today, maybe I will get the noodles as take out this weekend! As for our sushi, we got some basic rolls and they were okay. I will say that I prefer Joss', but this was a great second option for downtown. We also enjoyed a tempura veggie app that was delicious. The sushi we got was spicy tuna, tiger roll, and a bigger roll with salmon and avocado that was fantastic. The Tiger Roll was a bit boring, so if you like the simplicity of crab and cooked shrimp no sauces, then this is for you! But I enjoyed the salmon avocado pieces very much. The spicy tuna... well this was the first time I tried it... not my thing, so I can't judge it really. Looks like they do a lot of take out too - so please enjoy! read more

Went here Sunday after going to the pool with my toddler and cousin. We were advised it was no wait. Table needed to be buss than we could sit. Took our server who was also the hostess about 15 minutes to come take our drink order. They were limited staff. It was him and another gentleman serving. I picked up a carry out order from Nano the other day and it was my first time trying it. The food was ready very quickly - it took only about 10 minutes from when I called. Excellent service. I got the vegetarian sushi combo and it was a fantastic deal. Very filling at a low price. The tofu rice pouches were incredible - I wish there were more of them in the combo because I could have eaten a million of them. The cucumber avocado roll was excellent as well. I ordered sushi delivery with a California roll, a salmon avocado roll, yellowtail sushi and fatty salmon sushi. The salmon in the nigiri sushi and the roll were both very tough and not at all what anyone wants. I expect nigiri to be some of the best cuts of the fish and I certainly got some of the worst. Also salmon belly should always be soft and tender and the fact that it wasn't makes me think it wasn't salmon belly at all but likely salmon that was cut near the tail. It was tough as nails and none of it seemed very fresh. I will definitely not be back as there are other/better places in town. read more

Sometimes when you go to sushi places the other dishes are not worth trying but it's not the case for Nano! The other dishes we got to try were ALLLL SO GOOD! The Nano's Noodles is a must have and the Dry Fried Eggplant was perfectly seasoned!!! They're both appetizers technically, but are great sharing portions! All of us thought the place was a gem. This is my go-to sushi spot. Their servings are larger than the other two sushi joints in the same area for the same price. My all time favorite sushi from them is the Valentine's roll. Wrapped with rice and then salmon, these pink sushi pieces are then shaped into hearts before being drizzled with spicy mayo. Great sushi place. I got the volcano roll, eel roll and crunchy spicy tuna roll. The rolls came out within 10 minutes. Sadly, the fish did not taste very fresh, and neither did the rice. The tuna had a weird texture. Joss was closed and as I was sitting there reading Nano's menu, I sure did miss my go-to items at Joss. But Nano was open so I gave them a shot. I've eaten here several times and wasn't all that impressed but when you're hungry for sushi at an odd time of the day, this is where I go when I'm downtown! The ambiance is nice and the service is decent. I think they could focus a little more on the quality of the ingredients they use. I'm willing to pay a higher price. SPICY AHI AND AVOCADO. It had an orange mayo sauce over everything that wasn't my fav. I'd rather taste the food rather than the sauce. The pile of spicy ahi was generous! It's a ton to share but it had some gritty bites to it- the quality of the tuna wasn't anywhere near top shelf. I ate it with a bowl of rice and couldn't finish it all. HOMEMADE EGGPLANT entree. They said it was lightly battered but I peeled a lot of the batter off and it didn't have all that much flavor. WASABI SHUMAI. Good flavor but the pork filling was a little gritty like their ahi. This spot is by far my favorite sushi place in Annapolis! We originally decided to go to Joss but left after we just weren't feeling the vibe there. Solid move. I've eaten at both spots in the past but Nano's always seems to win me over. From the minute we walked into Nano the vibe was better. We were seated at a nice booth and we wasted no time in ordered some edamame and a couple of Kirin Lights. The edamame here is very good. Light and not bombarded with too much salt. For dinner we ordered six rolls to share between the two of us. The rolls were ready within minutes it seemed. The sushi chef even threw in an extra roll on the house for us to try. My personal favorites are the Dynamite roll and the Volcano roll but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a bad roll here. The staff here is awesome! Very authentic, attentive, friendly and very quick with service. The restaurant overall is clean but the men's room could use some more room. Maybe move the giant shop vac stored there lol Either way this is an awesome spot for sushi and I highly recommend trying them. read more
