I go to Isabella for massages and I can't recommend her enough! She has such a kind and healing presence and I always leave feeling like I've just been on vacation. It's so much more than your average massage. Isabella is skilled in lots of different styles of massage, bodywork and energy work that she will customize based on my symptoms. I had a very bad massage there today. I'm not even sure I'd call it a massage. It was very light rubbing. I mentioned about pressure before we started and also asked again during the massage and nothing changed. I also mentioned places to focus on which weren't focused on at all. I left still feeling irritation and pain. The room was hot as well as the bed which she adjusted, however, it never got cool enough for the 90 minutes. Lastly, she finished my massage 12 minutes early and turned the clock around after maybe hoping I didn't notice but I checked when i got up. I get massaged often (few times a month) and this was top 3 worst massages I've received. :( read more

I have gone to Sonya for the past 2 or 3 years for depression, grief, and a couple times for some shoulder relief and she is an incredible acupuncturist with a ton of integrity, empathy, and kindness. Yesterday I went for the first time in her new location in Highland Park and it was great as always. Her COVID protocol was top notch and as a long time patient I really trust Sonya. She is very close with her patients and it feels very transparent. She has you temp check when you walk in. No one else was in the whole building when I went (Monday at noon) You both wear a mask the entire time. Each room is sanitized after every session and she has taken on less appointments so she can disinfect and rotate rooms. So you won't be in a room that just had a session. It was sparkling clean and in fact the new location was renovated just before she moved in. She also gets tested every week and she said she was happy to answer and questions I had for her about their COVID protocols. I have been very cautious about COVID and I felt I was in extremely good hands. As always she is an amazing acupuncturist and I can't recommend her enough. She also takes some insurances! read more

I've been going to Golden Folk for over three years for massage and accupuncture. Both services are amazing and an important part of my self care regimen. I see Isabella for massage and she is amazing. Isabella is warm, thoughtful, and often goes over the allotted time with me. Her style is on the gentler side as she addresses emotional and physical symptoms such as grief, exhaustion, stress, anxiety, etc. She is incredibly knowledgable about physiology as well as mental health and applies her understanding to each massage. Isabella has been an amazing support through some challenging times. She also spends time after the massage to check-in about what she found during the session. I don't usually feel compelled to go out of my way to give an individual view but Daphne really did go above and beyond! For the past few months I have been suffering from night sweats, allergies, and dehydration. In 30 minutes Daphne was able to pin point several possible roots to a problem that has been a nuisance for a while and treat it with accupunture. She was quiet, confident and thoughtful practitioner who gave recommendations from everything from skincare, diet, herbs and aftercare and even left the line of communication open that I could text her. I can't wait to return with my next visit with her. The space in general is cozy, clean, and inviting. I love that they sell everything from crystals, lotion, candles and books. Everyone is so kind and attentive, and the vibe is peaceful, tranquil, and totally positive. I come here for acupuncture and I'm so happy that Golden Folk was the complete opposite of the hospital-like setup of other offices I've been to! Sonya is truly a miracle worker! While some practitioners would make assumptions based on your diagnosis and jump right into the session, Sonya truly takes the time to listen, understand symptoms, and provide thoughtful feedback with open dialogue. I have been seeing Sonya for acupuncture every week for 3 months. My focus is period pain management, back/shoulder pain. I am really happy to say, my cramps subsided a great deal. Golden Folk is really a truly a hidden oasis in the heart of Silverlake, filled with amazing vibes and even more amazing practitioners. Sonya, the acupuncturist and founder of GF is SO good at what she does, spending time with every single patient and practitioner, making sure their experience at GF is more-than well spent. I have to be honest, I was very skeptical of the "healing arts" and acupuncture until I fell in love with GF and decided to give it a try. I actually believe it's impossible to walk out of there not feeling different- better than when you walked in. I can't even stress the effect GF and Sonya have had on my life personally, and I know I can say the same of so many others who are lucky enough to walk through those doors, experiencing the healing (mentally, emotionally, physically) that GF and the lovely ladies in there provide. I wish more people knew about it, but I guess the vibe and secrecy that they've maintained is what makes GF what it is! Truly, all the practitioners there are amazing, and I've personally also had facials and massages done with Laura, who is another gem (side note: I've been using all the amazing/natural products Laura uses, and have seen a major change in my skin in the last year- not to mention, first facial I am able to walk out of looking completely normal). I just wish I had more time to actually attend some of the unique events (including monthly sliding scale reiki/acupuncture/sound bath!!) they have on the beautiful veranda/ make use of their infrared sauna.
