All the food was great, but I've had Crab Rangoon at dozens of Chinese and Thai restaurants, and these were the best by a mile. 5 entrees and a fried rice were all hot and tasty when we got them home. placed in a double paper bag because it was so heavy. Very very disappointed, after all the great reviews i had read my mouth was watering for some great chinese...but The beef on a stick was burnt, dry and tasteless The pork egg foo young was actually burnt, plus doesn't come with brown gravy The spareribs were ok, a large order isnt as large as off the island The dumplings were ok but a bit on the doughy side I probably wouldn't order from them again read more

4 stars foe Mary's dumplings o usually like fried but i prefer Mary's steamed. Staff is cery nice ans food is always ready when they say.

Order from here when on vacation every year in August. Now that my daughter owns a home, we will be coming year round. Great to know of a place open with fresh delicious food. We ate in the restaurant and decor is nice. Very clean and large screen tv was welcome sight. Will be returning for sure. read more

Abosolutely love Golden Gates Express! Me and my mother have been ordering their Chinese food for the past 3 years. Our usual order consists of Shrimp chow fun and crab ragoon-both tasty and filling! Very good, quality Chinese food! Have ordered from here a few times in the past couple years and it's always been good. The ingredients are fresh, food is hot, and friendly service. We tried several different menu items and everything was quite good. Definitely one of the better Chinese places I have been too. By far my favorite Chinese food place in Ocean County. The food is higher quality then the most of the surrounding Chinese food restaurants. Plenty of space to accommodate large groups. Very friendly. My favorite dishes are sesame chicken and chicken with bok choy with spicy brown sauce. read more

Me and my friends enjoyed our delightful and scrumptious meals. The only thing is it's kind of expensive, but they give you enough to fill you up. I got beef with broccoli that I could actually chew and swallow, unlike most chinese restaurants that make the beef all rubbery. This food will leave you full, not only full but satisfied. This is my go-to Chinese food place down the shore. The people who work there are very kind. Once, I went into the restaurant to pick up my order and I brought my 4-year-old nephew along. The man who worked there gave my nephew a bag full of fortune cookies - that little boy was on could nine! Additionally, they have a sushi bar, which I find to be very convenient when looking for affordable sushi places on the island. I have a severe allergy to sesame seeds, which can be difficult to explain to some sushi places since sesame is such an integral part of sushi. However, every time I've been to Golden Gate Express and explain this to them, they understand and I've never had a problem (or an allergic reaction!) to their food. If you ever are in the mood for Chinese, I highly recommend Golden Gate Express. They never disappoint. read more

I thought there was a problem with the $$ they charged and when I called the restaurant the woman that answered listened to my concerns and was more than helpful - turns out they were correct! They are located in Ortley Beach, NJ We chose to eat in. They give u the flaky egg roll chips (not sure what else to call it) to dip in sauce. They were greasy. Take out and dine in prices are different. We couldn't order small anything. Wound up getting combination dishes. They added in tax and the gratuity which I didn't appreciate since the service wasn't that good. They didn't bring my drink or my daughter's food or straws. I had to remind them. I ordered the pepper steak. I mainly had large pieces of onions that were uncooked and big pieces of green peppers and a few pieces of meat and the rice was bland. Unfortunately, I will not be eating here again. read more

Great family friendly place. If you are tried of typical broad walk food and want to get Asian food then this is a great place. They seem to have a varieties of Asian food from different region. Pho, sushi, Thai, etc. Family owed and super friendly. Food are ok but a good change up from the broadwalk. read more

Not only the best Chinese food at the Jersey Shore but in my opinion, the best Chinese food anywhere. The portions are delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend their lo mein, their chicken and broccoli as well as their sweet and sour pork.
