    Perfect tour!
    Madonna W.

We booked the most popular 2.5 hour Golden Gate Park tour with the Electric Tour Company on Saturday 1/25/2020 at 2pm. Our guide was Johanness. He was GREAT! I got a confirmation call and an email. The email said to arrive 15 min early. It was easy to find the pop-up starting point across from the entry to the Japanese Tea Garden. The check in was easy, expectations explained and we were all introduced to the Segway, helmet required, radios and safety vest. We were all beginners, but had lots of experience with other "wheeled" modes of transportation. It was easy to follow the instructions. The 30 min training is included in the time of the tour. Once we completed the training we took off at a perfect beginners pace, practiced stopping using the radios and operating the Segway in a group. The tour was beautiful, the guide very knowledgeable and it was the perfect amount of time, we took a walking break after an hour and couldn't believe how good it felt to get off and move. Our age range was 59-69. It was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE, The Cost was $75/person and a tip is appreciated!

Segway tour thru Golden Gate Park

Devin was knowledgeable about Golden Gate Park and most importantly cared about our safety. Every bump and root was cautiously advised during this trip around the Park. The first 45 minutes was spent on the registration, use and safety precautions of the segway. The tour itself lasted 2 hours where we stopped for rest, picture taking, and important memorial gardens. I enjoyed Devin's jokes! Thank you !!!!

I went to Groupon to find a fun experience for a Christmas gift to a friend...and stumbled upon Golden Gate Park Segway Tours for a good deal! I'm extremely happy with my choice. As someone who took their training wheels off their bike at 12 (no comment) I was extremely apprehensive about riding a Segway but GGP Segway Tours are extremely friendly from the start. High energy workers who make you feel comfortable and confident in your Segway and a tour leader that is extremely knowledgeable and tells you fun little details about our beautiful park! I'm totally looking forward to booking another, LONGER, tour to learn more about the park and have fun navigating a Segway. Btw, my friend and I were accompanied in a small group of 10 or less and our other companions were a larger family having a fun excursion! This is totally a fun way for a family (with children 10 or older) to spend quality time together! Or a fun friend-date or date-date! Segway on!!!

I was told I lost some street cred for doing this. I was laughed at by a few friends for telling them about this. I got teased, even! I DON"T CARE! This right here is a GOOD TIME! I grew up in San Francisco, but now reside in NYC. Bringing my BF to my hometown for the first time, I was the perfect guide! Gave him a dose of local life, while covering the bases with the touristy stuff. GGPark is a lot of land to cover though and I didn't want to tire him out with excessive walking (plus you know most folks aren't used to walking our SF hills). Leaving it up to the pros, this segway tour was the perfect way to introduce him to the park! We were both first timers on segways, so we got the white helmets. The training and practice before the tour was timed perfectly. I was antsy and anxious to start the tour, though a bit nervous as well, but once we hit the road, we became pros in minutes. It was so easy! Two-and-a-half hours covered the training and the tour. It was just enough. We covered a lot of the basic sites. Standing and balancing on the segway was actually more painful than I expected, so it didn't need to be any longer. Leonidas (Nathan) was our guide. Personable, friendly, and funny. I couldn't have asked for a better guide. Cool vibes. THANK YOU, NATHAN (in case I didn't spell your first name correctly)! We had a wonderful time. I think you made the boyfriend love Golden Gate Park more than Central Park in Manhattan. (WIN!)

Beautiful fall day, eventhough a bit chilly. This place is prepared. Excellent training, safety first. We had a blast. They even provide best, gloves , jackets and hats. Headphones were used to listen to our guide. Nice and toasty we took off through Golden Gate Park and the best Segway trip ever! Lots of special stops along the way and a great history of the park was told by our excellent guide Johannes. We plan to book another tour- the advanced tour which will take us down Lombard Street and all kinds of San Francisco challenges. Located in the Park near the Japanese Tea House. There are bathrooms and a couple of food trucks you can try before or after the ride,

We popped our Segway cherry w/ this company about 5 yrs ago when we were in San Francisco. We've been hooked ever since ... and now when we travel we look for Segways to see the sites! Move the clock forward to our return trip to SF ... we decided to do a private VIP Segway Tour in Golden Gate Park ... it was twice the price but four times the fun!! Jeff was our tour guide ... turns out he started doing tours 13 yrs ago for a summer ... and the rest is history ... he's been doing it ever since! Turns out he's the most seasoned of the tour guides & his wealth of knowledge of GGP is awesome!! He knew where 2 Coastal Redwood stands were located in the Park & took us "off-road" to enjoy the serene & peaceful "junior" trees that are just now reaching 100 years old ... babies compared to their ancestors that are thousands of years old! He spent such quality time w/ us - he offered numerous times to take our pix AND at the very end he took a video of us "cruising" the redwoods. Awesomeness at its best!! We had 3 hours of a personally exclusive tour ... all to ourselves!! I've been coming to the city since 1987 when my father was stationed at Presidio ... I've just discovered parts of the park that I've never seen before or even hear about (uphill stream ... Waterfall... what?!?) If you have any inclination to do something completely different & enjoy being outdoors ... DO NOT PASS UP the opportunity to do a Segway tour!!

5 stars for Golden Gate Segway tour and 10 stars for Johannes! Brought friends from the desert to SF and wanted them to experience the Park. Segway tour is by far the easiest and quickest way to explore the vast expanse of GG Park. Johannes was a 10 Star attraction with knowledge of the Park and such a great sense of humor to match his vast experience of San Francisco culture and history. Thanks for a real good time!

I highly recommend this tour when you visit The City. It's a great way to explore the Golden Gate Park and riding a Segway is just plain fun! The staff was super friendly and provide a nice tutorial to quickly become an expert at riding a Segway. Johannes was a great tour guide! He was funny and engaging and a blast into the past with knowledge of what it was like to live in SF during the summer of Love. We totally intend on doing the Chinatown Segway tour next time we visit SF. I recommend you wear very comfortable shoes. Riding a Segway requires your feet to move in ways they might not be used to.

Customer service over the phone was great, the tour was awesome and we learned new things about San Francisco that we had never learned before. The views were STUNNING and the open air car was awesome. Bring a jacket, the day was perfect sunshine which is unheard of for San Francisco this time of year and I was still frozen at the end of our ride. There were just a few things that kept this from being a 5 star experience: Car condition: the breaks on this e-car literally SCREAMED each time we stopped. The car stopped with no issue, but it totally freaked us out - especially on some of the steep hills. Otherwise the car was in excellent condition and we only depleted maybe 10% of the battery in our 3 hour tour. Front desk staff: check in and out was easy enough, but the front desk staff were realllllllly indifferent. They also talked like auctioneers, crazy fast. They showed all of the folks in the office this map route and talked at the speed of light. Now, we knew about 40% of the stops we would take and still got confused. How on earth are tourists supposed to understand this map direction situation. Seriously, the company would be better off instructing the front desk to say "your car will guide you through this map" than to try to have them explain where people are going. Or at least tell guests that "this seems like a lot, but you have a map in your car and the car will guide you, we are giving you this info so that you have some of the locations in your mind". Tour Guide/GPS: the GPS/Tour Guide storyline sounded like it was for the yellow car only. There were a few times that we were thinking, this can't be referring to our car. For example, there was one steep hill decent that we were going to go on and the GPS/Tour Guide said "I'm only designed to go 25 mph, so take care down this steep hill" we couldn't tell if we were only allowed to go 25 mph or if this cars speed was capped at 25 mph, but the website says that the top speed is 80 mph. Also, we were told that this car can go across the Golden Gate Bridge and the GPS said several times that it is not allowed to go on the bridge. Overall, we had a wonderful time, the GPS worked the entire time and we learned new facts about SF and saw new things that we hadn't noticed before. We also got MANY compliments on this car and almost every group that saw us said that they want to take this car out while on their trip. This was an awesome experience and we will bring family/friends here when they visit for amazing views of the city.
