The Golden Gate was 1 hour, and the Bridge to Bridge was 1.5 hours. The Bridge to Bridge has few times, so check their website to find one that works for your schedule. On the boat, there is a bar, popcorn, and snacks you can buy. There is a bathroom, although I didn't use it. There are several floors and the lowest floor with the bar has tables. As you enter, if you need the narration in another language, get the headset. By default, over the loudspeaker is English. The first boat trip I did was more crowded on the top deck with more people talking loudly, so I missed about 1/4th of the narration. The volume was never too loud or painful, but with people talking loudly, you will miss it unless you move closer to the speaker. Biggest tips: Wear a jacket and dress warmly if you plan to sit on the top, open air deck. It is extremely windy. Also, having a hair tie is helpful, so you don't have hair blowing in your face. It can be pretty smooth but by the Bay Bridge, the wind makes the water rougher, so you may want to take a motion sickness medicine if you are sensitive. Staff was friendly from the ticket booth to the people at the end telling your goodbye. Nice boat tour!

Luckily public parking was half a mile from the ferry, we brought a cart to put in our chairs, blankets, snacks and pizza that we got from one of the nearby businesses. The crew was nice, helpful and efficient especially when loading the ferry with customers and holding people and ancillary staff. They were very accommodating with people needing assistance with their canes, walkers, and other passengers were kind enough to help accommodate those who needed seating most. Great experience, quick trip to the island, and we had fun with the kids.

Public restrooms, don't expect much. On the SF side - We have the ferry building here. Plenty of public transportation and ride share. But I mostly either walk to meet my friends or have someone pick me up. Service - 5 stars. My favorite form of travel. Prices have gone back up slightly, but still very affordable. Thank you. Approximately 20 minutes to get to SF. Also, since I have lived in Alameda, the ferry service has always been on time. This ferry, similar to Sea Plane, operates only Monday to Friday. So if you go on a weekend, you need to take the main ferry. Price - $5.10 one way with a clipper card. Still almost 50% off versus pre-pandemic prices, thank you. Also, I just discovered the main ferry only cost $2.85 to go to Jack London Square; so why am I still driving to the Rosenblum winery??? The weather was perfect and it was a fun, engaging experience. They narrate most of the ride out, pointing out significant ships and places along the channel. You pass Alameda, sail over BART, glide under the Bay Bridge, and cruise by Angel Island. If you listen, you will definitely learn something new. The best place to sit or stand is on the right (facing Oakland). I was inside, because I needed to sit, but there was easy access to the back of the boat. I got some great pics. There is also easy access to the snack bar. They have candy, chips, soda, and other snackables. The surprise offering was cup of noodles, which seemed really popular. They did a brisk business the whole trip. The best parts for me were the cranes, seeing the bridge up close, and check your the lighthouse on Angel Island, particularly the cranes. Shout to George Lucas. He claims the cranes weren't the inspiration for the imperial walkers on Hoth. We all know better. Anyway, be prepared to stand in line a bit before boarding (like at least 1/2 an hour), lots of people, and lots of kids. It seemed popular with families. Time seemed approximate. The tour started "late" and ended a bit late. Nothing too obscene, just don't plan anything immediately following. The tours are popular, so sign up early. Again, it's free, and it's pretty delightful. Definitely recommended.

I highly recommend the whale-watching tour with Oceanic Society, aboard the Salty Lady. The experience began near Ft. Mason, and we soon passed directly under the GG Bridge. It wasn't more than 45 minutes later before was saw our first whale & that would have been more than enough of an experience.... but we were very, very lucky! The whales kept coming up for air & they put on quite an incredible show for us! The crew was knowledgeable & they never missed ab opportunity to call our attention to educational items of interest - like the mola-mola (sunfish) we saw, or even the plastic balloon that floating in the middle of the ocean (that they fished out) before it could be swallowed be an unassuming sea creature who might mistake it for a jellyfish. I wholeheartedly recommend the Oceanic Society's Farallon Islands whale-watching tour. Get this on your schedule, & if you do so soon... you might even see a ton of whales & other magnificent creatures, like we did The Farallon Islands were absolutely beautiful - 27 miles out & worth the time it took to get there & see what I am now calling "Pinniped City". It was an experience like no other, that's for sure.

The Captain: I read that Captain Clark sailed around the world in that boat, so that gave me a lot of confidence in his skills as a captain. He was personable, knowledgeable and funny (ask him to tell you the sandwich story...it's hilarious)! The Boat: Gorgeous sailboat with a nicely shaded deck (but you could easily get out into the sun around the boat's front and back sides when you wanted to lay out). The downstairs rooms, kitchen and bathroom were all clean and comfortable. I was a tad nervous about using the bathroom before I went on the boat, seeing as I had no clue what to expect, but it was clean and fine w/ running water and everything. The Food and Wine: We had delicious snacks that were easily prepared for us, and while I didn't drink too much, I really enjoyed the wine that was served. The best part, however, was the BBQ when we docked (or anchored? not sure of the proper terminology) near Angel Island with the most AMAZING view of SF, the island and bay. The atmosphere: Considering we only traveled a few short miles from SF, I literally felt so relaxed, like I had been vacationing on the Cape for a week. I really liked the rocking of the boat and the calming yet exhilarating feeling when the sails caught the wind and took off. All in all, highly recommend for the lovely experience, the skills of the captain and the great time we all had!

Condesa is very comfortable, the pilot house offering protection from the wind and spray. One of the "crew" said, after the voyage, that she had felt safer on this voyage than on any other sailboat. We docked on the lee side of Angel Island and hiked up to a point where there is a view of Golden Gate Bridge. Back on the boat a wonderful gourmet lunch was served with well paired local wines. Captain Beek is very personable and a great raconteur. He kept the party entertained with tales of his global circumnavigation. After lunch we sailed off the dock and completed our circumnavigation of Angel Island before setting course for the city. The Wine by Sail excursion is an excellent way for a small group to experience an adventure on San Francisco Bay, with some delicious eats and drinks thrown in. Great value for money!
