He acts like you're annoying him. He is the reason for the 3 stars because part of eating out is the service you received; I'm not paying for him to be rude to us. Food is good but service is not so much. My wife and I both got bento boxes and were very please with our food. We were not pleased with the service. We were seated for a good 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order and it was another 30 minutes before we got our food. The server didn't check with us for refills (which we needed) or how our food was tasting. We even had to flag someone down to get our bill when we had sat there for 10 minutes after finishing our food. Servers definitely need to be more attentive. read more

I grew up in the neighborhood around this place. The location has had multiple businesses pass through. Originally a Maverick gas station, then they moved across the street and left the building. Nothing really stayed until now, and there's a reason why, best sushi ever! Since we moved away I have tried desperately to find sushi that comes even close to this place, to no avail. Every time I go back to visit the area, I make it a point to go there and get a Vegas Roll with extra spicy mayo on the side. Their cheese rangoons are also delicious! First time here. Decided to check it out due to yelp reviews. Great service. Not too intrusive, but attentive. Had the Liz roll and golden bistro. Fish was fresh. Waiter recommended hawaii shrimp. I hope I never have something that tastes like that in my mouth again. The sauce was easily dissected as being a mix of maraschino cherry juice and sugar. It was surprisingly not good. Advice? Don't order that stuff. Tempura vegetable and shrimp appeared to be and indeed tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Bummer, tasted bad. Took the majority of the Hawaiian shrimp and tempura home to feed our chickens. They have wine and beer, which I deem a plus. I'm gonna go ahead and suggest I may have come on an off day. Overall: Great service Nice atmosphere, though the outside appearance is rough. Good sushi. A few atrocious dishes. I'll be back to try something different and sharpen my critique. read more

I NEVER have wanted to review a restaurant on Yelp before because they simply haven't made an impression on me. This is the ONE. This place has the BEST sushi I have had in a very long time. Service didn't improve the second time. Only reason I came back is because the kids wanted Chinese and I was too tired to go farther from home. I realized this time that they serve Escolar as Butterfish. I asked the waitress if the Butterfish was Escolar and she checked with the chef. It is. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the Royal Jade in Layton is just that much worse. It least it seemed edible. That "2" was for the regular dishes. The sushi gets zero stars. If you've had good sushi and Chinese in SLC, avoid this place. I'm not sure who's giving this place 3/4/5 stars but I'm assuming they've never stepped into a decent restaurant or had sushi anywhere else. read more

I like the bento boxes! That way you can try a few things, get a rounded meal, and the best part is that they are usually Chinese food based for the picky eaters who don't like sushi. The bentos are also good for kids who won't eat the roll that comes with it (adult gets it ). read more

The soup and beef were big enough to have leftovers. The beef was flavorful without being too sweet. The soup was spicy and flavorful. I liked the Spider Roll better than Ginger Roll. This restaurant is in a converted convenience store and may not impress you driving by. The food is excellent however. The flavor and consistency is far above average. You won't be there long before you decide it is a regular stop in your rotation. I've been a longtime fan of The Mandarin in Bountiful and while the building/decor here may not be as fancy the food is equal to the challenge. The decor is clean and comfortable if not fancy. read more

Very Good! We have tried all of the sushi restaurants in the area and this is AMAZING! Very friendly service, very fresh. The house Ginger dressing on the garden salad is fabulous, more of a vinaigrette than creamy and it was amazing. We tried the Torch, Playboy and Snowbird rolls all were delicious. It's been mentioned that this location used to be a Maverick gas station at one point. Once inside that becomes a nonissue. Once you are greeted, seated and served you'll know you made the right decision. The service has been outstanding and the food is far above average. Prices are reasonable and portions are plentiful without looking desperate. We have tried a vast number of items off every section of the menu. We haven't been disappointed. The red chicken curry is my favorite though. The Thai tea was oh so good. Although it may offend a sushi purest, I thought the Texas roll was outstanding. The place has always been clean, friendly and worth the visit. Also, I ordered take-out and it had the same sense of care in its preparation and it was boxed up well. (Would not recommend in large amounts) pretty sure the hostess is a serial killer given her looks were less than friendly and barely civil or decent.
