We go here on occasion, but it's always hit or miss. It's hard to find really good Chinese in Davis county. This place is ok for a craving. Noodles are good sometimes over greasy, not sure if they have different cooks. The hot and sour and egg drop soup is good. The service is always good. Wow this whole experience has been a terrible experience. Our regular Chinese place doesn't deliver and my husband and I are both sick so we decided to go with this place and let me tell you if we weren't already sick we would feel sick now. The ham fried rice tastes like soap, actual soap. Ham fried rice soap. The orange "chicken" if you can call it that tastes also like dish soap. It also barely tastes like chicken it has a faint taste of fish? Could it be fish or is it just fishy chicken. The texture was so off and weird. The Lo mein had tough pieces of beef and barely anything else. The appetizers were okay but I feel like they were probably frozen and plopped in the fryer. The egg roll was really gummy. I would avoid this place at all costs. Also the delivery driver decided not to listen to any of the special instructions and decided to do the exact opposite so my husband had to hunt him down basically to get our food. The food here used to be good. They use a thick soy slurry on the lo mien that smells and tastes bad. The noodles are mushy. There is a server who is rude that makes eating here unpleasant. One star for the food. Service was good, very nice people, they get a 5 for that. So the average is 3. I guess I should say that the sesame chicken was bad, very bad. It has a very strong flavor and it very rich with a lot of sugar. I know Chinese food has a lot of sugar on certain dishes but this was was over the top sugary. My advice to anyone ordering from this restaurant or any restaurant for a to go order, check the order before leaving the restaurant. I had to call the restaurant about Two items of concern. By the way, I had to dial the restaurant number five times, because it kept going to voicemail, which the voicemail system said it was full and to hang up. So, I dialed again and finally got the original person that I placed the order with. I called to warn them about the foreign object in my food, so that someone else did not get the same thing and bit down hurting, or breaking a tooth. (See attached image, for look and size comparison). The other issue being the ingredients in the Kung Pao dish. 1. There was a black chunk of some sort of Charcoal, hard, thing, that was extremely hard it looks like a piece of the equipment or something broke off into the food. (See attached picture) This foreign object was found in the Kung Pao dish. 2. My order was Kung Pao Scallops and Shrimp, which included: Red and green peppers large scallops and shrimp bamboo shoots crispy peanuts in a special hot sauce with red hot peppers. The order that was cooked today had zucchini and some other kind of squash; I would say, I removed and discarded about 2 soup-bowls full of squash, which seem like a filler in the dish. I do not like zucchini or summer squash, It was not in the menu as one of the written ingredients, so I didn't know to tell them not to include it. They also had in the dish, onions which I like, but they weren't in the written ingredients either. However, bamboo shoots were not in the dish at all and they were part of the written ingredients, which I was disappointed. The menu description on the 5 scallops, mention them as being large. But, they were not large they were about the size of a dime or a nickel. Plus, I would dare to say they were not very fresh either. They had a slight odor, or slight bad taste. I ate a couple and could not eat the rest. However, the 6 shrimp where large and delicious. On a positive note; the broccoli and carrot dish was stir fried nice, it was done, but with a fresh color and a crisp bit. I requested that these vegetables are prepared without sauce. It's the best way to have them, with no sauce. The person that took my call, she offered an apology and 15% off my next order. I told her that I was not looking for a percentage off and thanked her for the apology. I thought she would get it, and understand, or acknowledge that they would inspect, and make sure each dish going out the door was safe to eat. My son and I stopped for lunch on a Tuesday at noon, we were seated quickly and the waitress was real friendly and seemed to like her job, unusual now days. There were only 3 couples in the restaurant at the time but quite a few came in for take-out. The restaurant was clean and tidy, looks like they care about the way it looks. Our questions about the food were answered quickly and we ordered shortly after. I had the lunch combo Chicken chow main, ham fried rice, one tons and hot & sour soup. I have to say Im putting Changs in the top 5 Chinese restaurants. Hot & sour was really good, rice and one tons are the usual fair the Chicken chow main was good, im not a fan of bok choy in my chow but it was a good main dish. My son had the Chicken lo main and said he really enjoyed everything. We shared an appetizer of egg rolls and was somewhat disappointed in the abundance of oil in and on them. Ordered takeout for a quick dinner. General Tso chicken came with big pieces of white meat. The sauce is sweet with a kick at the end that isn't overwhelming but will make your nose run a little. The fried potstickers were some of the best I have had. Careful if you order these, you want to enjoy them fresh and not sitting in the bin. I've now eaten here twice. Both experiences were great. Everything I've tried here has absolutely been delicious. Of course everything is swimming in sauce. But the food comes out hot and not soggy. The one thing I didn't really like was the cream cheese wontons had too much Seafood in them. Some people would like that but I like to taste the cream cheese. One star for the nice lady who took the takeout order. My husband and I came here multiple times about 10-12 years ago. Food was outstanding. Freshly cooked not soggy, quality ingredients. This afternoon, I ordered orange chicken for the daughter, General Tao's chicken for the husband and house Lo Mein for me. The sweet little lady came out with the food in boxes, maybe 10- 15 min at the most. Crazy fast. The two chicken dishes seemed to be the same, only the sauce was made different with a little orange juice. The chicken was clearly pre-frozen literally chicken nuggets like you get at McD, soggy and drowning in sauce. There was one box of white rice, which husband says seemed dry like day old rice. Guess I'll make fried rice tomorrow with that. The Lo Mein noodles seemed as though they had been sitting around since lunch time, and literally minimal celery and cabbage, three shrimp and the rest of the meat was tough like shoe leather, and I must say rather flavorless. $46.00. Husband said he went about one month ago, and today tells me he thought it was a one- off, that why he didn't mention. He orders the same thing every time, so I trust his opinion. It's possible the cooks have changed or owners or managers. But I will be taking my $46.00 elsewhere, unfortunately. I like to support local businesses if it's within reason. Currently I cannot find a reason to visit this place again. I hope they go back to how they were 10 years ago. it was excellent. I get it though- the high prices of food, I'm sure all of the restaurants are trying to figure out ways to cut costs. Probably cheaper to purchase bulk frozen chicken nuggets rather than use fresh chicken. Also the problem of avian flu last year decreased fresh chicken supplies, making chicken even more expensive to purchase. I'm not justifying the bad food. Have been here 2 times. First time was a couple of years ago and remember it being ok. This time I literally grabbed my son who also wasn't digging it and ran over to the Mexican place near by. Told my hubby to pick us up. It was that bad. Not even edible. My son literally said "I cant chew this meat mom it just won't chew." So sad because the owners seem so nice. Giving this place 4/5 stars because I've only found 2 go-to items on their menu thus far. Their hot and sour soup is to die for! Also, their house fried rice (and other variations- ham, beef, pork fried rice, etc.) are the best I've ever had! As for the main dishes, the ones that I've gotten were ok. Not bad but not great, and have lots of sauce. I usually love extra sauce but even this was a bit much for me. I've asked for sauce on the side for some dishes which fixed that issue for me. But honestly, I really come here for the soup and rice. I usually ignore rice at other restaurants, but at Chopstix it's the star of the show! If you haven't found something here you like, please try one of the variations of fried rice and the hot and sour soup. It's totally worth it and you'll be amazed! And just a tip- if you order the soup to go, only order what you'll eat that day. It doesn't reheat well. It tastes the same but the texture is quite lumpy. read more

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is one of the best Chinese food restaurants in Davis County. Only the Mandarin is truly better, but when you factor in the Mandarin's high cost and limited hours, it doesn't seem as worthwhile. I've been slowly working through Chopsticks's menu with my family and we have yet to find a "bad" dish. I highly recommend Chopsticks. read more

I would say I am a regular here at Chang's. Been coming here for 20 years. I have read all the reviews and seems that it's either 4-5 stars or 1 star reviews. Looks like Service issue is a regular let down. I have personally never had issues like this here. Even at that it's 4-1 great reviews to bad reviews. It's always been a pretty solid place for me and who ever I bring here. That's over a 100 times I have eaten here. Just good solid Chinese food. Not awesome but I can always count on it to be good, fast and priced reasonably. They are always service oriented, clean and happy to help get you what you want and even spice up the dinner if you want. I am sure they have had bad days & issues. Let's face it that's life. Try there hot brewed tea, it's a favorite. My wife and I can eat and be home in less than a half hour. That's with time to enjoy the meal and not be rushed. Like I said I have eaten better more authentic Chinese food. In Davis county there's not much better. And when you find it it's always more money. Another you should consider as I do is they have been here every day serving great food for 20+ years. Places that get 1 star & 2 star reviews don't stay in business that long. They're weeded our.
