Not going back! I am so sorry to say I will not be returning to Golden Glo. The baristas now ask VERBALLY if the customer would like to leave a tip! A tip is based on customer service and a well made product. I leave tips, but I should not feel obligated to tip and the tip amount is up to me - if I choose to put cash in the tip jar or write it on the receipt. To verbally ask almost equates to asking FOR a tip. No way. Also, the amount of ice in the coffees at Golden Glo is ridiculous. I asked for an Americano and received so much ice I did not get much product. Adding water is not an "upcharge". You can do better, Golden Glo. By the way, talked with someone else today who was surprised by the requested tip that they are not going back either. read more

How this coffee shop is as busy as it is, is mind boggling! I've given them 3 tries as they are close to my house. Never again! They NEVER get the order right! The girls are stressed, not only from being busy and trying to keep up, but also from the lead barista snapping at them (which I witnessed). The bagels are bought from Costco (meh!) and the coffee was watery tasting, 2 out of the 3 times I went (that's with the additional shot of expresso I added)! From now on I'm driving a bit farther and going to "Milk and Honey," where service is always outstanding. If you are going to indulge in expensive coffee and food, at least M&H tastes like it! I told them I ordered a pink lotus & this is not that, it tastes like an italian soda & the gal said "oh we ran out of pink lotus so I think that's what's going on" Why wouldn't you tell your customer that you're out of pink lotus so they could choose something else? The bad: On Saturday, October 8, 2022, I went to Golden Glo in Hayden to grab my teen daughter a peppermint mocha before heading over to the Harvest event at New Leaf Nursery across the road. The total was $5, including tip. On Monday, October 10, TWO CHARGES PROCESSED AND CHARGED one for $5.01 and a second for $5.00. I realized the girl that ran the register must have made an error and tried to reprocess it, but didn't do it right so I got charged twice. No biggie - mistakes happen. It's how they handled it that is the problem. I went through a few days later to show them the error. The "supervisor" had zero authority to fix it so said "she would give a message to the owner" and tried to assure me the charge would "drop off." She clearly didn't understand that "processed" charges can't drop off... only "pending" charges can. A week goes by and it's just crickets. I messaged them through their website and the same thing - NO RESPONSE. I typically visit that location about 3x per week as it's near my home... but I haven't been back since they've ignored me. The same thing happened to my husband about a year ago and he hasn't been back but just a few times. I'll be happy to re-rate my review once this is fixed... but for now, I'm back to driving to town to a Starbucks where the staff knows how to run a register properly and I can trust them with my card. It's not the money... it's the principle of them ignoring an error and not fixing it. The good: Kudos for the tasty drinks and friendly staff. This place i'm sorry it's seriously lacking in every department. But don't even get me started on what i was served. What i was served had noticeably LONG HAIRS in it?? Ive heard from a few people they have staff working there without hairnets and with lice working with FOOD. I got hired at Golden Glo a few months back, and it was probably the absolute worst job I've ever had. Some of the girls (not all of them) are super rude and condescending to you, and berate you when you get something wrong even if you're still in training. They make you go through 10 days of training where they confine you to one register, and then as soon as you're out of training they expect you to know everything else. I tried asking questions about how to do things but was met with dirty looks and rude comments. I got told once, "Once you're out of training, don't ask any stupid questions for your own good." Really? The learning curve is so steep that they can't expect you to be an expert right off the bat. And don't even get me started on the owner, Eric, absolutely horrible. The only time you ever see him is when he comes in occasionally to tell all the girls they're doing a horrible job and that they're not good enough. I was finally starting to get the hang of how they wanted me to do things a week after my training ended, and Eric came in and pulled me outside alone. That freaked me out on its own, but then he proceeded to tell me that I'm "not learning and adapting fast enough" and started to make me feel guilty about getting tipped for the work that I was doing. "You have to do better, or else we're going to have to put you through training again with no tips." I wanted to cry after that, how humiliating is that? You taught me absolutely nothing, this is literally the first time I've seen you since I got hired, and you have the nerve to say that to me? I was doing my absolute best every day, busting my ass to try and get everything right. That was the day I decided to quit. Since then I've talked to multiple girls I worked with and they said the same thing about him. How he comes in and completely destroys everyone's confidence and blames them for the amount of people quitting the job within the first few weeks. It's not the girls, it's you, Eric. I'd heard from multiple people before I even started to work there that the environment is toxic and the owner is a complete creep. Also, I've gotten sick off of their food and drinks more than once. I was working here for almost a month. I told Heather I can not work 12 days on with only 1 day off. (Everyone else in the shop including most mangers get 2 days off a week minimum) She terminated without any call, text, or any warning. I was not trained on coffee at all. I was not given any work clothes. I didn't get into my schedule for a full week & a half. I was treated poorly, not trained correctly. I've never had a worse job. I truly tried to stay positive durning the work experience. They purposefully wayy over charge people for their coffee plus add on's, food etc.. They favorite certain people & treat others so horribly. They get cheap food from Costco & charge way more than it's worth. I felt embarrassed telling people a tiny scoop of salsa was 1 dollar... & 2 Costco burritos were 20 dollars. We got charged 25 cents for our shift drink cup... Constantly telling us to "talk to our customers the whole time to make more money" (even when the customers truly didn't want to talk. We had to come up with random things to say) to "up sale everyone at all times"... The employees are not that good because they are not treated well. service was good, good people. but the drinks are insane. i was a barista for six years, drink arent difficult to make, i ordered a 24 oz lotus, paid for a 24 oz, got a 20oz cup of ice, with about 3 oz of lotus and club soda. i finished the drink in a minute flat because there was no drink to be drank. i understand putting a ton of ice in a drink so the company can make money, but ripping off your customers is another thing, especially because lotus ingredients are so cheap, and charging 7 bucks for a drink, don't rip off your customers. this was a low ball move. read more

I'm done going to Golden Glo. Personally I think over priced especially for the drinks you get. I usually get a lotus with light ice and a burrito. Today the burrito made me sick, literally sick and I have to call out of work. My lotus I got, which I ask for light because if you don't you'll be paying for 20oz+ of ice. Today I ordered a 32oz lotus with light ice, what I got in return was 30oz of ice and a splash of drink for $8. $8! What a scam! The coffee is good, but the breakfast bagel's only redeeming quality was that the ingredients didn't muddle or impede really getting to know the bagel. The internal components lack both the heart and the gumption, leaving it feeling much more like a warm cheesy slab of bread, and less like a solid start to the day. This is for the CdA location I have been going to the stand for over 15 years. Been multiple names. As I was out and about Friday, I decided to get a special coffee to brighten my day. I order, she asks hot or cold? I say cold. The drink that came out looked nothing like I usually get. It's on their menu, not something fancy. I told her at the time this was not what I was expecting. She just looked at me. I put her 1 tip on the passenger seat and left. The more I drove for errands the madder I got. I paid 4.55$ for coffee I won't drink. It was NOT making me happy. I take the drink back. It's still full. I tell her this was not what I wanted. She asks again what I want. She sends the other girl over to collect 4.55$ again. I said it was a trade. She said no, I ordered it wrong so would have to pay again. I left my punch cards for someone else to use. I've been looking forward to the opening of the new location for months since it is just down the street from my house. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. I've never been to the original Golden Glo, so after stopping at the menu I decided to pull forward and ask the girl at the window for some advice on what to get. I explained I'd never had Golden Glo before and when i asked what the top three best selling coffee drinks were, her response was "I don't know, all of them..." and then went on to list a few off the top of her head. I finally said "okay I guess I can reverse and look at the menu" her response was a simple "okay" and she turned and left the window. I'm not sure if she just genuinely didn't know what their top selling drinks are (which she could've told me) or if she was disinterested in helping but either way it left me feeling pretty unenthusiastic about trying any of their drinks. Part of paying $4+ for a coffee instead of making it at home is the friendly experience which this place lacked. I decided to just drive away and probably won't be coming back. read more
