I had driven by this place many times and wanted to try it, simply because I liked the name. Turn out there is more than a name to like. It has a very nice shop inside where the smell of coffee is strong from grinding their own beans in house. I loved it and the vibe instantly. It has an old time feel which I love. The server was super nice and helpful in answering my wife and I's questions. I love that they serve lunch. I had a delicious tortilla soup while my wife enjoyed a panini, also delicious. My wife enjoyed a chocolate espresso, different ingredients than a mocha, while I enjoyed a chai latte. Both great and served very hot in a mug. Speaking of hot, the day was only mid 60's, but due to the many windows, which does bring beauty and good light into the shop, it was quite hot and stuffy inside, yet too cool to eat outside. I can't imagine how it feels on a hot day. The barista said the AC was on, but we couldn't feel it. They need to invest in some of those large ceiling fans Placed throughout the shop. I really like the atmosphere in here. I got the avocado toast with bacon and it was yummy though messy to eat and I tried their watermelon refresher and it tasted kind of... artificial. I would have loved fresh slices of cucumber and fresh mint leaves in it or something. The mango one tasted a bit better. I found the service a little confusing - some things they wanted us to come get and others they brought us and when we went to clear our table the dish bin was overflowing so I wasn't sure what to do with things or if to leave them. read more

Exactly what you would want from a coffee shop. Good coffee, good breakfast foods & pastries & good ambience. The service was also good & quick for how busy the place can get! I enjoyed the protein bowl (basically a u-pick eggs scramble and I got potatoes, bacon, cheese, bell peppers). I tried the cinnamon roll latte one day & PSL the other day. Enjoyed both. You'll see this gem on Government in Hayden sitting on a corner....good size parking lot.....I finally decided to check it out a few months ago. So glad I did. Walked in, cozy with fireplace going, tables and seats apart enough for comfort and ease of talk. I've bought three pounds of espresso beans so far since my first visit. Very fresh, good taste which is why I continue driving across town to purchase. I haven't purchased food yet but because I always see customers chowing down, I'm confident of the bites. I cook at home quite a bit. I met the owner on my most recent visit and he beams with pride on his business. Had a great chat about his journey. Good guy. Such a cool place. Full of customers and so much great atmosphere. High hopes for the vanilla latte and husband had a mocha latte with an extra shot. Wonderful ladies helped us and made great latte foam heart on top. First initial drink was good. After that, not much espresso taste. I think it was the extra espresso in the artwork that had the coffee flavor in the first drink. Very bland. Maybe need to grind the coffee finer to extract more flavor. Not sure. read more

North Idaho, get ready for a treat! Kaffee Meister opens in Hayden on January 3, 2022. Owners Mike and Leslie Emmons bring their experience as coffee roasters and masters (not sure if that is an actual thing, but by the taste of their coffee I WILL call them masters!) to the area, also owning other coffee shops out of state. It's one of the rare places I've found in the area that roasts their own beans. Both my wife's and my latte were one of the best we've ever had. They will be offering fresh baked goods and other items in the cooler (empty at the time I was here, as I had the great fortune to enjoy their soft opening prior to the public opening). There is a wonderful warm gas log fireplace to sit around and enjoy. There is a mix of sofas, tables and chairs, high back booths, high top tables/chairs, leather arm chairs, and bar stools to sit on. You will miss it if your not looking! Parking lot was full, they do brisk business here. Very nice place! Love the whole vibe, and enjoyed the music, wish It was a little louder. Very chill and soothing. Service was friendly and efficient. The coffee was amazing! My only pick is that someone should be delegated to periodically wipe down tables and chairs, remove cups off the empty tables. There were crumbs littered all over the table I sat at laying down my coffee cup. Yuk. In that time , 5-10 minutes, it could keep the shop super tidy and clean and the customers would not have to clean and bus where they want to sit. read more

We ordered drinks, avacado toast & breakfast panini. Our drinks came out 10 mins after order & then food 30 mins after that. Meanwhile we kept seeing people getting food etc when they came in way after us. Not a good look! The food was a one star, super greasy panini that had a strong soaked taste of vegetable oil. It was really difficult to taste the ham, egg or cheese in it. The avocado toast wasn't bad, bread was amazing, it was more like guacamole toast with bacon & micro-greens.
