Found a hair in our food today. Absolutely disgusted. Called the store and they told me that I probably pulled my own hair out and put it in the food just to get my money free. I was shocked by their lack of professionalism. And honestly, just total disrespect .They were unwilling to refund my money unless I drove back to the restaurant with the items to give it to them and when I said I cannot because I'm a single mother of four kids and it's a far drive, they said there's nothing they can do to help me. , I said I would be willing to take a picture and text it to them or email it and they said neither of those are options. Outstanding "Chunk King Pork" with rice. Delicious, tender, flavorful pork. The veggies (carrots, onions, green peppers) perfectly complement the dish. Very flavorful My grandson, 7 years old is very picky about food. He had three bowls of won ton soup and asked for another to go. The 4 year old had two bowls of won ton soup. The egg rolls and chicken on a stick were excellent. Service was great and she was very pleasant even dealing with children that changed their minds several times during the order process. I would give this zero stars if possible. We got sesame chicken and General Tso's chicken and they were both awful. It was all filling and hardly any chicken. I ended up cutting each piece open to TRY and find the chicken and just dip that in the sauce. The fried rice was blah with not a single tiny vegetable or egg in the entire container. read more

This place used to be the best. It always was reliable and served high quality ingredients. The chicken was lightly coated and clearly chicken breast. This time was different! I waited 45 minutes after they said it would be ready and the food was terrible. There are two types of Chinese places, this was the only one in Cherokee county that served high quality food. Sadly it looks like this is no longer the case. I would chalk this up to an off night but the food resembles other places in the area so maybe they have the same low quality suppliers. Gross. Just gross. General tso's and sesame chicken was all dough with little meat. The rice was pasty and disgusting. The chicken (wings and stick) were so heavily seasoned it was yellow! Nah! This is not it! I ordered the sesame chicken with Fried rice. The chicken was extremely soggy, with little sauce (there was a small amount at the bottom of the container) & the rice had a very strange smell to it. After trying just about every Chinese food place there is in a 20 mile radius, The Golden House is our go to place for take out Chinese! The food is fresh and flavorful! We love to vegetable soup that is like no place else's. The simple broth is tasty. I tend to order the dinner specials because it's a great combination of an entree, fried rice, egg roll and crab rangoon for a great price. I love the Hunan Beef the most. The lady at the counter is pretty amazing as what she manages. Never gotten an order wrong and always on time with what they say for pick up times. The ambiance inside isn't somewhere I'd prefer to go and sit down and eat but in my opinion, it's the best Chinese take out food around. read more

Although I liked the chunky vegetables in the La La Chicken it was quite spicy and the heat didn't bring any flavor and was just hot for the sake of being hot. The square of dried rice didn't "put on a show" like you'd get at a fancier Chinese restaurant, and there was no audible sizzle. But the soup was full of chunky vegetables and chicken and shrimp and I really enjoyed it. The Rangoons were nice and the egg rolls were decent. The fried rice is adequate but very little in the way of additions. Service was friendly but its a small shop and only one person to work the phone, register, and service. This restaurant located in the Kroger's shopping center in Holly Springs is a replacement for the former Golden Dragon which was a replacement for Mr. Wok The lovely family that owned this place owned The Mandarin House in John's Creek for 20 years which was also fantastic. I was able to try their Chicken lo mein, General Tso's Chicken both of which I think are fantastic. The Lo Mein is cooked with minced garlic and a light mushroom brown sauce which is the way Asians cook these puppies. (If you want to go truly authentic ask them for Chow Fan-which are those big fat white noodles-its not on the menu but they will cook it up for you if you ask) I'm not General Tso expert being that it's actually an American dish but I thought Golden House cooked it just right. Not too spicy which is actually good because it can overwhelm the fruit flavors that is in this dish...of course you can jazz it up with all the spice you want after you order it.... My diet has been awful the last week. Stress eating for sure. With that being said, I wanted something else that I shouldn't have. Specifically, Chinese. I've always just looked at their combo section. Today, nothing was catching my eye, so I just went to dinners. I saw curry chicken. While I'm not a Thai curry person, but I can throw down on some Chinese curry. Not wanting to be fooled into receiving a Thai curry, I called and asked if it was the greenish/yellow curry. OMG! JACKPOT! While I've ordered things from here before, I didn't know how spicy the dish would be, so I went with three stars. It was absolutely perfect in any way. My lips are still tingling and my belly is full. Yes yes yes. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Cherokee County. This place is a hole in the wall, that still shows some signs of its previous tenants. It is under new management and has not changed all of the signs. Dont let that stop you. The food and service is top notch. Solid crab ragoons that are huge. If you ask them to make it extra spicy they will follow through with it.The broccoli and carrots in garlic sauce extra spicy was a winner. I'm so happy they are here. HIGHLY recommended. read more
