i am grateful i didnt check yelp before coming here, otherwise i might have not tried it. So I have some health issues lately that have made get dizzy and lightheades most days. I have to eat alot of salt and sometimes i get hungry pretty quickly like mad hunger. I was meeeting some peoplat at the TGIF next door around Xmas, and had an attack.I felt kind of weak and knew i needed some good salthy and savory chinese food. I went to Golden jade on a whim, which is in same parking lot. I was greeted by a sweet 7 year old who i was I imagine the daughter. Since i never been here i asked her some questiosn about differnet items, and told her what i liked : veggies, spicy food and tofu. It was super busy since it was one of few places open on xmas, and Mom owner was taking phone orders ubereats orders were flying in so i was grateful to get some guidance from the younger generation. I decided on hot and sour soup and bean curd with veggies and i asked for extra spice. came home and was not expecting much but flavor was very very good. Soup was good too but not best i had ( i am pretty picky about hot and sour) The veggies were very fresh and it was not so sweet Anyways, I just was pleaasnatly surpirsed by food and service. Filthy greasy little hole-in-the-wall between a nail salon and pedi/mani salon. On a Wednesday night, it was empty, cook was sitting in a booth until I placed my to-go order for lemon chicken, chicken egg fu young, and fried dumplings. While the food was being prepared, a second cook (delivery driver?) showed up and looked to take over/help prep. Owner stood in a corner by the register playing with his phone. No other orders came in while I was waiting. After 20 minutes, he waved me over to pick up my order. When I got home, I unpacked the food and started to plate. #1, NO LEMON SAUCE. #2, the dumplings were steamed, not pan fried. #3, no dipping sauce for the dumplings. #4, the brown sauce for the egg fu young was cold, coagulated, had a skin on top that was stuck to the lid, and there were little balls of corn starch floating throughout. #5 Egg fu young itself had little hard bits of old sprouts in it and the chicken did not feel or taste fresh. #6. The crispy chicken for the lemon-less chicken was greasy and dark brown with old oil taste and the coating fell right off when trying to cut it ( I whipped up a sweet and sour sauce for it). #7 White rice tasted "old". I don't know what happen to their cook for my food was Un edible, the Hot and Sour Soup they gave me egg drop soup with mushrooms no flavor, wonton soup, where are the wontons and the broth was clear, again no flavor. Now onto the entrees Vegetable Lo Mein dry land sticky and again no flavor, and right in the garbage, the General Tao's Chicken, the chicken where was the chicken, it was all breading and I ask for extra spicy and it again had no flavor no spice at all and the Vegetable Fried Rice where are the vegetables!!! Very good local Chinese place. The dumplings are fantastic (steamed or fried). The General Tso's chicken is also very good. The veggies are always fresh and the meat is flavorful. Great place for a fast eat-in lunch or dinner take-out. read more

Decent food but dont expect a lot of meat. Dishes are bloated with rice & vegetables to cut costs. When i told the manager i wasnt happy with the amount of meat in my pepper steak he said that is the "normal amount everyone uses". Ive been ordering pepper steak for 10 years at every chinese place around and this is the worst i have seen. I give this place a solid five stars for inexpensive Chinese food. Can't beat a lunch special the price that comes with a free soup and fried rice. I will definitely come back here. This is the second time I've ordered from Golden Jade recently and they never have gotten here with my food! Sad because we here at the hospital order from them quite often and have done so for the over 10 years I've worked here..but it seems the food taste and customer service has gone into the TOILET! The last time this happened and I complained and they left egg shells in my Egg Foo Young which again shows the infantile state of mind, instead for making it right its more a I'll fix this guy for complaining. Just moved into the area and had to try the local Chinese Restaurant. We dropped over $50 so that we could bring home a variety. One entree was more tasteless than the other. Absolutely disappointed and very upset that I threw over $50 away...very upset. read more

Pretty good take out. Always friendly to our children (give them fortune cookies whenever they go in). Dumplings are excellent, as mentioned by others. A little more expensive than other places (. 25¢). Will keep searching for our "go to" Chinese place. read more

Possibly worst Chinese food I ever had. My family is vegetarian and we order veg dumplings around the country. We couldn't eat them and asked they take it back. I ordered food from there about 2 months ago. its was ok to a point then it got bad. I went to eat my spring roll and there was little pebble in it, like the kind you see on the side of the road on asphalt and I bit one. I kept the food in a little zip bag and kept in fridge but just didn't have the time to go there. what prob happen was that some part of the food used in a spring roll fell out on delivery and the scooped it up. not sure what happened but it was my last time for them. read more

After working for this man for almost a year and getting screwed over by him and then still ordering food from this establishment, he messed up our order and charged us for extra then we ordered. We were promised 50% off next time we ordered. Well next time came around and we got four dollars off of our meal. As well as extra charges when we used a card. Cream cheese roll and got charged for a Philly roll not a huge deal but I did not receive the salmon so the next time I decided to order a Philly roll with the salmon on the side and was informed it would cost 5.45 more. I then said I just want whatever portion of salmon that comes on the roll but on the side. She insisted it would be 10.95 so I then asked If the Philly roll was already premade in which she said no. So Apparently it costs 5.45 dollars more for them to just make it without the salmon. read more

This place is really set up for take out. If you decide to eat in the staff is curt. They won't give you water at the table. Tea is made from a bag one cup at a time. They substitute egg roll wrappers for mandarin pancakes. The food is OK, but nothing to write home about. read more

Golden Jade must have a following because they've somehow managed to stay afloat for more than a few years despite have less than satisfactory Chinese take-out. Wonton soup was flavorless; General's Chicken was over done and difficult to chew; Pork fried rice was yellow (saffron? but without flavor) with a meager amount of onions and pork; egg rolls were acceptable. My recommendation would be to skip this place and head on over to Peking Garden on East Bay Avenue. On a positive note, the restaurant was very clean and the staff very friendly. read more
