This is really sad for me to write because normally I love this place. Everyone is really friendly and I've been very satisfied with my nails every other time I've gone. But today my gel manicure left me in tears and in severe pain. The lady doing my nails was extremely rough, and in a rush. A cuticle trimmer was stabbed underneath my fingernail. Several times I recoiled because the cuticle trimmer was pulling at my skin too harshly, or the nail filer was filing away my nails sidewalls. I understand I should have said something, but I leave for a business trip tomorrow and was desperate for my nails to be done. Getting your nails done isn't always cheap. It's a treat. Today cost me too much money and too much pain. I'd really like to return someday, but I am in no mood to. Again, normally love golden, but very upset today. Edit: my pedicure lifted from each toenail within 3 hours. The nail polish on each toe came off in full strips. I'd really love if someone could reach out to me about a refund because I am up one infected nail and down a full pedicure. read more

Best salon in Gig Harbor hands down - I even travel from Seattle just to see Lisa when I can. Lisa and her team are very sweet, thorough, and detail oriented. They listen to what I want and go above and beyond to deliver. They offer so much services from nails to toes, facials, and waxing. Lisa is always keeping her stock updated with brand new colors and design options. I choose to do new modern designs each time, and have not been disappointed. I get so many compliments on my nails! Lisa did my dip nails. She was articulate and paid attention to detail as she was working on each step of the process. Helen did my toes. She was gentle and addressed any concerns I had with my feet. Unfortunately, I broke one of my finger nails two days after. Helen retouched all the nails by filing down a couple coats and applying more polish to strengthen them. I loved both of them read more

Best man's Mani-Pedi experience you could ask for. I was rather embarrassed about the condition of my feet. I had been bed ridden for a few months and had developed thick calluses and long toe nails - what i refer to as " Country Toes". Kelly & Tina were so kind and did not make me feel uncomfortable. They did not rush or make me feel rushed unlike other establishments I have been to. They took their time and did a very thorough job. There pricing was great too!! I recently moved to Gig Harbor from California, so I am always hesitant about trying new places and very skeptical. At first I wasn't sure about getting this place a chance because when I walked in they said that they couldn't give me dip powder nails because they didn't have time. So I got a pedicure done which makes me uncomfortable because I am ticklish but the lady made me feel comfortable. As you can see from my pictures, I was burnt from getting a wax done. It was very unfortunate and very painful. I sat through a new acrylic Nail set without knowing that she actually messed up my face because I never got to look into a mirror. I finished and paid, even tipped graciously but then once I got to my car I was able to see how awful my face looked. I was more upset that THEY SAW MY FACE AND STILL MADE ME PAY FULL PRICE INSTEAD OF TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY. Also got my nails done and the technician has no regard to the pain she was causing me when filing my nails on the sides. It is clear that the technicians weren't trained properly. Didn't get the techs named as she didn't introduce herself to me at all. Her station was second on the left when you walk in. I had really high expectations of this salon as it has the best reviews I've seen. I wanted a hard gel set. No powder , dip or acrylic. This is my 5th set of nails, ever, so I'm new to this and I felt I was taken advantage of because I was misunderstood from the start and should've just walked out at that time, before starting. But the tech assured me it was ok. She re assured me it was a "gel powder" which I never heard of before so I assumed she was the professional and knew it better than me. After I left I read up on it and it's NOT the same or even close. To gel. It was DIP! And it looks bad. I also confirmed with many girlfriends who get their nails done all the time. I was really Upset to find this out as I trusted the tech knew what she was doing. This is not what I wanted cause I know it's not good for your natural nails and gel x or hard gel is better looking. And healthier to the nails. The results are terrible. They're very blobby & misshaped. And feel lumpy. I had to tell the technician I wanted my nails straight and not crooked. They're still off center. The polish is uneven and lumpy. I have a very deep cut from the nail tech to the point I had to say ouch and pull back. She filed into my skin very deep. Twice in the same spot. I have to wait for it to heal to get them fixed so it doesn't get infected And another not so deep cut on the finger right next to it. All Pictured. I asked for change for a $20 and she withheld $10 For a tip. I told her to give me my change. Then she asked for a tip for the lady who did my pedicure separately. On top of it all they also charge for CC purchases-which equals , you got it, another tip. And when she was running the card she kept saying "add tip" . Besides the tip issue she cut my fingers in several spots, around my big toes, my daughters toes. She was complaining about me in her foreign language when I asked her to fix my crooked acrylic nail (she never did fix it). And to top it off she failed to lotion my hands and do a hand rub. When I inquired she said "5 minutes $5 dollar". First time in 25 years I wasn't given lotion and a quick hand rub after a full nail service :( read more

Decided to give this salon a try as I live nearby and am so happy I did! The ladies here are so sweet and kind. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my nails so I brought in a picture and asked for their advice. Lisa walked me through a few options and was very transparent of the process and prices. I opted for acrylics and they came out great! I was a little worried that they would come out thick, but she put in a lot of attention to detail and made them look very natural. She was very gentle and I enjoyed our conversations. They have so many colors and designs available, i'm already looking forward to coming back for something new. The ladies that were getting pedicures talked about how relaxing it was and it showed...so I made an appointment for that next :) Happy to have found my new go to salon! Loved my spa pedicure! The music helped as well, soothing. I was even given a free massage cream just for coming in and giving them the business. I absolutely love this nail salon. All the ladies are very talented and kind. They always go above and beyond with their services when I'm there. In addition to the wonderful service, they have some of the most reasonable prices I've ever seen. Helen does my dip nail manicures, and they last 3-4 weeks. Once they started to crack after a few days, and she redid the entire manicure over for me at no extra cost. Lovely establishment, and probably the best manicures/pedicures I've ever had. I'm new to the area, thought I'd try this nail salon as it was close to me. I had a terrific experience. The team of two took great care in my nails and toes. They offered extras such as a mini-head and neck rub and the longest leg massage I've ever had anywhere. I splurged for the extras, and my total was $50, but it was well worth it. I've spent $50 in other places where I didn't get nearly the services that I got with Golden Nails. I will be loyal to them going forward. I visited this salon with my mother after our normal nail salon was booked up and saying we were disappointed with the service we were given is an understatement. We both got brand new full sets and both were not only tragic but they also HURT!! Both of our technicians knicked us several times, mine to the point where she had to put a little cotton swab with alcohol ? I believe on my pointer finger because it was bleeding. We both kept saying ow because it was clear they were both being sloppy and rough. When my mother said ow because she had hurt her thumb , the technician continued to mock her and say " ow ow ow, you hurt easy" which in my opinion is VERY unprofessional. After all of this , she could not figure out how to run my moms card and then forgot to add the VERY minimal tip my mom had added so kept asking to run her card again for just the tip. Honestly will never go back and will NEVER suggest anyone else go. Trust me there's very good nail salons in the harbor and this is NOT one of them. read more
