OMG what should have been a relaxing experience was completely ruined by the BELLOWING of the woman who sits directly next to the cashier. She is ridiculously LOUD and was hollering to (not at, TO) the whole salon the entire time I was there. I eventually had to take my hearing aids out she was so loud. It is ridiculous. Whether answering the phone or communicating with the salon she is one of the loudest people I have ever been near. The service was good but she completely ruined it. Please! STFU!!!!!! read more

Been going here for about a year for acrylic nails, still love, they always do an amazing job.

I have tried nearly every salon in the Gig, and this spot is consistently on the mark. Leyna is efficient and professional while open to my nail design ideas. I always leave with beautiful nails. I was in desperate need of a pedicure and didn't want to drive out to one of my usual places in the Tacoma/UP area. I called ahead to make an appointment and when I arrived was seated immediately. I decided to get the Deluxe Pedicure with Gel polish and it was such a treat. The techs working at the salon were friendly and did a great job. My feet felt so smooth and soft and I left feeling super relaxed. Tip: If you pay with cash, you'll get a small discount too!! I like these people and my pedicures are always perfect but the nails are always problematic in some way, always. The last was a dip (French type) and the white was yellow within 2 days and the very thick dip was popping off within a week. Just not worth it. Sadly I'm moving on. read more

This place is tucked away in Gig Harbor but definitely worth the drive. It was the day before Easter and I slipped in and asked for dip powder nails with tips. I have used nearly every salon in Gig Harbor over the last 20 years. It took me two decades to find the perfect technician. Vivian is an absolute perfectionist, with the highest standards in safe care and practices. I use to walk in and be at the mercy of whichever tech could see me. With Vivian, I refuse to see anyone else. I make bi-weekly appointments with her instead of taking a chance with another tech. I cannot say enough about her and her level of expertise. I live on Vashon Island and this is my go to nail salon for pedicures. Usually it's myself, my daughter and my mother. We plan a girls day and all get done at the same time. my mother has Alzheimer's and also doesn't hear very well. We always get whichever techs are available and every time has been great. They are very patient and friendly with my mom and she loves the experience so much. She got little flowers on her toes and thumbnails and was so happy showing everyone. read more

The prices are 30$ for gel and 35$ for frech so a bit high But the people are nice and its a small business. Nails always look great after and last for two weeks. If the prices were a bit lower I think I'd like it more. The lady with the casper tattoo is awesome and always does great. Has a nice gentle touch too. This is the best nail salon I've ever been to by far and I've sat in hundreds of nail salons all over the world and in hundreds of chairs for anything between pedicures, manicures, gel, full sets... and this place is better than the rest. They keep their entire salon clean so I don't have to walk around in disposable flip flops like an idiot. They are meticulous with their work. Lily and Linda have both done my nails and I have terrible ingrown toe nails and they take care of it every time without hurting me and make sure my nails look so beautiful every time I walk out. They scrub my feet until they're so clean! They're so beautiful. They don't push extras onto me like flowers or deluxe packages but if I ask for it they're more than happy to accommodate. When I get my nails done they always do such an amazing job. My gels always last two to even three weeks without a single chip and stay on my nails for up to a month if I don't mess with them. And I'm a college student so that should say a lot. Any time my nails are wet they move my belongings for me carefully so I don't have to mess up my nails and they make sure my nails are dry before I leave or pay so I don't have to come back and waste my time. The attention to detail is seriously unparalleled and they make sure I am completely satisfied before I leave. When I get anything waxed they are gentle but quick so the removal is painless. They make sure that the wax isn't too hot and they make sure I'm left without ANY hair. Overall this place is clean and accommodating. The ladies that work here make sure that their customers are happy and satisfied. The customer service is absolutely unreal and I've never felt more at home in a salon. read more

I went there with my elderly grandmother to get our nails done, other salons Ive been to have ignored her requests and said she asked for "extra designs, polish, ect" I asked them to run things by me first and to speak louder since she had hearing problems, THEY WERE AMAZING. I've tried this place a couple of times for different services: manicure, pedicure, and brow wax. The ambiance is like a typical nail salon of this sort: non-English speaking staff, half of them wearing masks to protect their lungs for whatever fumes and particles that are going into mine. The pedicure was probably the best service I had of my experiences there, followed by the manicure (of which I had hangnails the next day from) and then the horrible brow wax. The brow wax was the worst I've ever had. They lay you down in this closet-like area on a table with a blanket on it that was in desperate need of washing. She didn't say anything to me, just slathered on wax that was too hot and took skin off, along with my brows. I had painful blisters the next day. I've never been back since. read more

Anyone can stay home and paint their own nails. Let's be honest, we want a good massage and scrub (especially when we upgrade to the "Deluxe"). Not impressed. Once done, the lady picks up my wallet and walks it, my keys and sunglasses over to the drying station. My wallet was open, spills all over. Tip: don't touch people's personal items (wallets!?!?) w/out first asking. No ability to tip with a card, forget it. I gave it a shot, but not again. read more

Kind of a "meh" experience. I convinced my husband that he'd love getting a pedicure because he loves leg and foot massages (without polish for him). We were able to walk in and sit right down for pedicures on a Saturday afternoon, so that was nice. I really didn't like how often they tried to get us to spring for more services. They offered upgrades on our pedicures, offered to do both of our eyebrows, wanted me to get a manicure, and offered to put a flower on my toes. This was something we decided on spontaneously, so I wasn't wearing the proper shoes. They made me waddle through the salon barefoot because apparently they don't have those disposable flip-flops. The massage that accompanied our pedis was really lackluster. My husband definitely wasn't convinced. It was nice, but not amazing. I've experienced much, much better. read more

Harbor Nails and Spa can be a slightly uncomfortable experience if one is accustomed to a high end establishment such as Gene Jaurez. One day I could not get into town and stopped in for a pedicure. The woman who did my service was sullen and unfriendly. She seemed to be in a hurry, and even did a poor job on my French Pedicure. Very often the staff will interrupt a conversation between a client and staff member (in another language) thereby causing the client to feel left out and even as though they are saying something bad about the client. I have spoken to other clients who have also wondered if they were being spoken about by these women who speak another language in our presence. It is just plain rude! Would NOT recommend this facility to anyone I care about. read more

I was a little reluctant to go here based on several of the reviews. My hesitation was completely unwarranted. The person that worked with me spent an hour and 15 minutes with me for a pedicure and foot massage and did an outstanding job. I paid $45 plus tip for an excellent service. It was thorough and unrushed. The massage chair I sat in was also pretty good. Kind of an added bonus ;o) Ask for Kimmy. She was outstanding. Took my mom here Thursday before Mother's Day. We both got a pedicure (meh) and both got gel manicures. I got just a plain color and my mom got white tips. They charge $5 to paint less of your nail which I think is absurd. I asked the lady doing my nails to do an extra coat of color because you could still see through the polish and although she said yes she still only did 2 coats. She then proceeded to file my nails after they were painted, and with gel you're supposed to paint the ends of the nail to seal it in. It's now Monday (not even 4 full days later) and my gel is already chipped and peeling. Whenever I get gel done it does usually last a little less than the normal 3 weeks because of my job, but this was over a weekend- a very lazy one at that! I will not return. read more

I like Harbor Nails. I get my brows waxed (great job!) and have had manicures. Recently I got fake nails, and it was the best job I'd had in years. I can't understand the negative reviews. Most of the staff DO speak English, and why are you so tough on refugees and immigrants? Do you think any of the workers like having to do this sort of work? I'm sure they'd take better paying work if they could. Meanwhile, I think it's a great service they provide. Maybe the negative writers here need to communicate their wants/desires/needs better to the staff. Or maybe they should go somewhere else, so they don't take up space here. read more

Worst manicure I've ever had the whole event even painting took 15 minutes. The lady didn't even ask me if I wanted my nails clipped or not just went at it. The water was cold the "massage" was done before I even soaked my hands and it was literally just her putting lotion on my hands and arms and rubbing it in just like you do when you put lotion on yourself at home no massage at all! I will never go back to this place and I would advise everyone else to stay far far away! read more

If I could, I would provide this place with 2 separate ratings. Their waxing is a 5 star for me, however nails get a 3 star. My skin is sensitive and many places have made me break out/get ingrown hairs with waxing. I usually never have a problem with this here. The shaping has been to my liking. Nails are just 'meh' to me. Their manicures are very basic. For *less* money, I can go elsewhere in town and get an actual massage to the hands/arm (here they just kinda rub some lotion into your hands) and paraffin dip. In a pinch to get some color I'll go there, because it's the closest salon to where I live, but I definitely prefer going somewhere else. Never had any issues with the staff. Some are pretty quiet, which you get anywhere, but they're all friendly. read more
