Now that I know what to expect with a Russian mani I was less surprised and able to appreciate the precision and skill needed for this type of service (though will caution anyone who's never gotten one before that it can be a bit uncomfortable; I recommend you look this up before trying it). My nail tech today also did a lovely job with the nail design. She was very skilled and meticulous with her work (grooming, polish and design) so I expect this set will last longer than my last. If you're getting a Russian mani, take note that you can expect it to take nearly 2 hours, so feed the parking meter accordingly. Overall, I am happy with my experience and will be back. :)

After I was told the salon did not have the exact shade from my reference photo, an employee selected what he said was the closest match. As soon as the polish was applied, I immediately said it looked purple/pink, not the bright pink I had requested. I was repeatedly told that it was "pink," despite my concerns that it did not resemble the color I came in for. I made a phone call because I genuinely wanted a second opinion to make sure I wasn't imagining the difference. After confirming that the color was not what I wanted, I decided I no longer wanted the polish. That decision was based on the final result, not because I suddenly "changed my mind." It's also unfair to suggest that your shop closing during my appointment was somehow my responsibility. Before coming in, I called and let the salon know I was on my way. Whoever answered the phone told me that was perfectly fine. If there wasn't enough time to complete the service without it extending past closing, the appointment should not have been accepted. I should not be made to feel rushed or pressured because the service continued after business hours. I also felt pressured to pay for a service I was unhappy with before my concerns were fully addressed. We all have places to be, right?? Especially when you're booking with someone because you specifically want THAT person. Nails at Southshore is definitely on the smaller side. There aren't a ton of pedicure chairs, I'd say six total and there's not really a waiting area besides literally two folding chairs lol, so that's one thing I think they could improve. BUT, they do seem pretty efficient at getting people in and out. Also, this next part is absolutely NOT their fault but South Shore management really said, "You know what would be perfect right outside a nail salon? A children's playground." So either come with AirPods or be prepared to hear kids screaming while you're getting your nails done because Lily's station is literally right at the front door. I was fighting for my life LOL. Anywaysssss, back to Lily- She's super sweet, VERY talented, took her time and care with my design and absolutely nailed what I wanted. Basically, she's my new nail girl now. I'm locked in. Luckily, Kathy was super understanding and friendly, she took her time with the service and checked in frequently during the pedicure. Initially, I was undecided on nail color choices, and Kathy brought out multiple options and helped me choose a nice shade. The nail salon is clean, comfortable, well-maintained and located in a convenient area. I was very happy with the overall service and the customer service was excellent.
