Great service! I got my first thorough eye exam for the first time in my life. The receptionist is always really nice and the entire staff was welcoming. I like that they check your insurance coverage before your appointment, that way I knew beforehand what my copayment would be with my HMO. The day of my exam they made me feel welcome and cared for, Dr. Ardaya was detailed during the consultation and made me feel like my vision was important to him. A little downside is that the eyeglasses take from one to two weeks to be ready, it was my first time getting glasses so I'm not familiar with how the process works. I learned of Golden Optometry from a friend who has been a patient for many years. I'm glad I gave them a try for my annual vision exam. I went for my fist visit while COVID was still a concern and they followed strict guidelines to protect staff and patients. I recently returned due to an unforeseen eye emergency. I called them as soon as the major pain started at about 4:15 pm. Their website indicated that they closed at 6 and I only live about 10 min away. Unfortunately the female office staff who took my emergent call could not fit me in that day and I had to wait until the next morning to be seen. I later learned that it was the manager who took our call. It would have been a nice touch to try and accommodate a patient with an emergency. An eye pain / emergency is something I prefer to be seen by an eye specialist and not a regular urgent care facility. When I did get to see the Doctor the next morning, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. The Doctor deserves 5 stars and I would like to return to see her for future eye care. The 3 star rating is due to the front office staff/manager. When someone is in pain and unsure of what may be going on with their vision or eye , a little help and compassion can go a long way. read more

May 24, 2024 we called the office asking if by any chance if the doctor had any openings to see my mom's eyes again when we go to pick up her glasses 5/25/23,It seemed the same cloudy thing came back and it is bothering her. They said he is booked and will need another appointment. But it would be some other day. But if he had a chance he would. So we took the chance and went on her appointment May 25, 2023 to pick up her glasses. When we arrived and let the front desk we arrived and if the doctor was going to be able to see her. They looked on the computer and she said that her scan insurance doesn't cover there anymore. And she needs to go to her medical doctor to have her eye checked. That this office is only for eye exams and to get glasses. I was like since when did this place all of a sudden not become her eye doctor. A Medical doctor is for her physical body. She said sorry but she needs to go to her doctor and her Scan insurance is available there. I let her know I heard her but I still don't understand how two weeks ago she was available to be seen and now she can't. So then she went to get fitted for her new glasses, which she really liked and looked good on her. The doctor came out to see her after he came from his lunch break. Which was nice, he looked at her and said to if she still had some of the RX drops he prescribed for her. She said yes and she used them like he told her for the 7 days. He said ok well you needed to use them still and less drops after each day,I let him know that's not what he told her to do last time. So she is using the drops again, good thing she still has another little bottle. It's so frustrating when you think you finally found a good place for your mom's eye care, and now we have to look for another place. The 2 stars is only because the drops helped her somewhat, let's see how she does this week and for her glasses, she likes her glasses. The OD David was attentive to her, but just that he didn't say to use the drops less after cuz she got really scared that it came back and now that her insurance doesn't cover there. read more

Not a fan. They are super busy and when you make an appointment, don't plan on getting called at that time. It typically takes 2 hours for a vision test visit. Then once your glasses come in, you have to wait again whether you have an appointment or not. I called, so I could quickly go in and pick them up. Umm...nope, didn't happen. I needed a change in my prescription, and wanted contact lenses as well. I called Golden's Optometric on a Thursday, with an appointment for the following Friday. My appointment was on time. The staff are very kind, friendly, and professional. I was examined for new glasses as well as the contact lenses. I was even able to wear a trial set of the contacts, home for the next week. I had a return appointment the following Friday. My new glasses were ready....and I love them. And after a minor adjustment in the contact lenses, I have those ordered as well.
