Went in for my yearly check up and of course, my vision gets worse every year. It's no fun getting old but it's not like it's optional. Thank goodness I've got a wonderful optometrist like Leo. He and his staff are always so helpful and professional. I'm going to be extremely disappointed if he decides to retire. As always, he did a thorough job of checking changes in my vision and informing me of any additional steps that may be necessary based on his examination. It's amazing how when one of his employees leaves, he's able to find a replacement that continues to provide the same excellent level of service. Came here twice and the place is awesome! The staff is truly what keeps me coming back! The check in and glasses selection was stress free! No pressure from the staff at all and they even helped recommend which are best for my head shape. When i say no pressure, it really is as they also offered to give me my prescription so I could order glasses on the side. The doctor I had was patient and kind. She walked me through all the steps thoroughly and paused to check I had any questions. This establishment is amazing! I got new insurance and I googled them. Called them to see if they accepted my insurance and they did. The assistant who helped me on the phone was Jackie and she is very kind, professional, and understanding. She explained to me what my insurance covered and we made an appointment. I had to make several changes to our appointment and Jackie was so kind and understanding. I even spoke to doctor Uyeda, and he was very nice too. Day of my daughter's visit, I came in early just in case I had to fill out paperwork which I did. It was just a one-page form. Doctor Uyeda called us in and he was kind and thorough. He was friendly with my high school daughter. He explained what was going on with my daughters eyes and that her vision was 20/20. I've been going to the optometrist or opthamologist since I was 10 years old. I'm now in my early '50s. I will tell you this guy is in my top three best, if not the number one spot. Not only getting my contacts correct but for making adjustments that allowed me to switch to a different contact that saved me 2/3rds cost of what I was paying. I went in for my annual eye exam and I enjoyed how patient he was in answering my concerns and explaining every procedure. He made recommendations on how to care for my eye health. Once my exam was over the girls in the front desk helped me understand my insurance benefits and my insurance almost covered everything!! I will be receiving my glasses in about two weeks. read more

I am new to the area and saw this was closest optometrist to my house. The customer service is exceptional. Grace was super friendly and very thorough with explaining what my insurance covers which I really appreciate. Dr. Uyeda is awesome. I used to go to Walmart for prescription services and now realize that they TOTALLY over-charge. I had conjunctivitis issues and Walmart charged me about $200 total to get it checked and have an eye exam. When it came back, I went to Dr. Uyeda who explained to me everything about the condition and what I can do to help minimize the irritation in my eye. He was very informative and gave me an eye exam which was very very thorough. I can tell he knows what he's doing and wants to do it right the first time. What a fantastic optometrist! There's no other way to describe Dr. Uyeda but "deft"-- everything he does, every movement, every tweak of your eyelid to pop in a contact lens (for a first-timer) is all done so easily, so practiced-- you know he's been in the business a long time and knows his stuff. His clinic is small and homey but equipped with everything state-of-the-art (w/o that overly high-tech/clinical feel that makes me nervous about most doctors' offices). He always takes his time with each patient to ensure you get all the care you need, and schedules a good amount of time for each appointment. He also has a good selection of lenses and powered shades in the store to give you a good selection if you're looking for glasses, and keeps a variety of contact lens brands in stock. It's the most relaxed sort of doctor's appointment you could go to, but he's so thorough you know you've been well taken care of. I recommend Dr. Uyeda to everyone! read more

I was recommended here through my eye insurance company. I've had eye insurance for several years and up until this past month I had no idea about in-network vs out-of-network providers. iDoc is a great placed tucked away in a nice little shopping plaza. The workers are friendly and the doctor is nice. I didn't feel pressured or guilted to purchase all the bells and whistles for my glasses like I have at other optometrist offices and one of the workers walked me through the differences between various coatings. Because I had come back into the office for sunglasses and picking up other frames, it was nice to know that the workers remembered me and even asked me to remember to remind my wife to get her eyes checked (we had previously discussed it). I had an eye exam and purchased eye and sun glasses. My glasses came within 7 days. read more

I don't give 5-stars often, but if I can give more than 5 stars for Dr. Uyeda, I would! I have been going to Dr. Uyeda for years but after my job got moved to Irvine, I started going to other doctors near work for convenience. It is after going to other optometrists I realized how wonderful Dr. Uyeda is and that I should have driven to See Dr. Uyeda for my exams even if it meant driving in traffic to get to his office from Irvine. Dr. Uyeda is very patient and very thorough, unlike most optometrists who would try to rush patients out in less than 5 minutes. He checks your eyes from every angle and unlike other doctors, he actually spends time talking and listening to you. He is the only optometrist I have been to who would skillfully remove your contacts for you during exam. I have to admit It freaked me out the first time but after that, it amazes me how he does it! It's definitely better than me taking the contacts off myself and then trying to get back to the chair when I am blind without the contacts. Forget optometrists with fancy offices. Your eyes are important and they deserve an eye care professional who cares and that is Dr. Uyeda. read more
