I've been to a few optical shops for glasses, but Schulz is the best! Their courteous nature and professional demeanor stand out above the rest! They took the time to talk to me about my frame and lenses choices. Even giving me ideas for things I never considered, rimless glasses? Clip on sunglasses!? It took me a couple visits to finally decide on what I wanted. They were so helpful and patient with me every step of the way. They even got the glasses back within days of me ordering! Awesome place to get your prescription glasses, Angelica will make your Ins. go smooth and show you what will fit right on your face. Ray is the "man", he will customize your glasses to your like. I'm a driver for UPS and needed something light so I got the rimless Silhouette's, can't even feel they're there after 12 hrs+ of work, Ray fit them to my head so they won't slip off my face even when sweating. So happy with their work I went back and got prescription sunglasses for the first time. Totally custom jobs tailored made to my like, from fitting to how high or where I want the nose bridge to fit! Schulz Optometry is awesome! Angelica is the best. I've been a customer for the past 6-7 years and every visit to the office has been great. Last week I lost my glasses while on vacation. I called Angelica and she ordered the new lenses the same day. A few days later I stopped in and chose my frames...which are no longer available...but Angelica was able to find them for me. I picked up the glasses today and, as usual, everything is perfect. From the time I lost them until today's pick up was a total of six days. Fantastic customer service. My husband was not thinking and decided to not wear safety glasses at the job site which resulted in a few pieces of saw dust and splints of wood stuck in his eye. After hearing him complain for a solid 5 minutes, I told him to stop at the nearest optometrist to get the issue taken care of. He walked right in without an appointment and Ray and Angelica rushed him into a chair and removed the wood out of his eye before it had the chance to get worse. I stopped in yesterday and couldn't be happier with the experience. This locally-owned Whittier business really gets optometry. Their service is top-notch: ultra personal, friendly, and genuine. I left with a stylish set of both office wear and sunglasses that filter out blue light for the long hours I spend staring at my work laptop, iPhone, and iPad. In case you didn't know, blue light has the potential disrupt your sleep and have long term negative health consequences. I've used contacts for the past 15years, never glasses. I've always hated wearing glasses because they usually squeeze the sides of my head and fall off my face. I was convinced by both family and friends that everyone needs at least one functional set of glasses (in cases of emergency, etc.). I decided they were right, and picked myself up a pair. The man (Ray) that helped me was knowledgeable, polite, and willing-to-help (what more could you freakin' ask for) Ray, "fitted/molded", my glasses in a way nobody has ever done before. After he molded them I put them on and he said, "ok, now try tilting your head forward, and shake your head left-to-right, they shouldn't move at all", and he was absolutely correct. He molded them to hold onto the back of my skull. Every other optometrist in the past has molded my glasses to hold onto the sides of my head (which results in the glasses squeezing the sides of my head and slipping down my nose). Since getting my glasses fitted by Ray, I haven't worn contacts once. Summary: I always hated glasses, only wore contacts. After Schulz optical gave my glasses a proper fitting I now love glasses and no longer fuss with contacts every morning/night. Also, they have a pretty healthy selection of brand-name glasses. read more

Brought a pair of well used reading glasses in for a bit of repair. The screws were loose and the two sides that attached to the actual glasses have a tendency of falling off. They charged me $25 for the repair, the price was a little steep in my opinion, but it was fine, as long as the problem was fixed. Got it back, and it was fine for a couple of days. But the old problem came back. Brought it back to Schulz, and I was accused of abusing the glasses. The lady proceed to ask me if I had been rough with the glasses, perhaps even sat on it, etc What the bloody hell?! Oh yea, that's exactly how I treat my glasses... After finishing 50 Shades of Grey and feeling duped by the masses, for my cat could've written a better trashy romance novel; I proceed to rip the glasses from my face, threw it out the window, dropped a ton of dirt on it, and then sat on it. I bought a pair of Ray Bans from an optical in a department store 2 years ago, and they were falling apart. I came here to see if they could fix my frame or if they had any other options for me. Angelica explained to me that since my eyeglasses were the clear ones (frameless on the bottom part) some parts were already broken and that it was way beyond repair. She suggested some other frames that will fit my lenses and I chose a pair that I really liked. She told me that if I felt them somehow loose I could come back and she can just adjust them in order for them to feel great. Indeed that happened, I came back the next day and she adjusted them just right. Now I love my eyeglasses. The owner is super nice and friendly and she said that if I ever have a problem with my eyeglasses I could just come back and she can always help me out. read more

I have been utilizing Schulz Optometry services for at least 10 years. Ray and Angelica are always very friendly and will go out of their way to provide service to you. My husband's glasses broke on a Saturday and he had to go to work. I also had my day booked with my son's school activity. I called them to see if there was anything that could be done. Angelica and Ray met me at their shop on Sunday and were able to give me a new frame! Great service always. While I have purchased glasses from other places, I am never as satisfied with them as I am with the ones from Schulz! Great place. I highly recommend them! read more

This office is awesome. The people here are so friendly and personable. You can't help but want to come back right after you leave. Originally my husband and I went in to pick up his glasses. I decided however to get and eye exam while I was there. The eye exam is enjoyable and efficient. Their is also a wide range of frames to choose from. I went yesterday 5/2/2018 and she said that the expected pickup date for my new glasses would be 5/4/2018. I did not expect her to say that. The last time I went to Walmart for glasses and it took about 2 weeks for them to come in. Two days wait time is awesome. I watched as she fitted my husbands glasses to his face so they fit perfectly and would not fall off his face. I have never seen anyone else do this, other places just hand you your prescription, have you check it and then off you go. This place really cares and fits it to your face perfectly so there is no sliding. I will definitely be recommending this office to anyone who is looking for glasses and a warm welcome. read more

I first came here a year ago to fix one arm of my glasses chewed up by my dog! They were very pleasant and have to order the parts for me. I love their customer service and order three pairs of new glasses from them. I need both vertical and horizontal prism so that's very tricky to make. Ray is a so precise and crafty and all of my glasses turn out perfect. They make the glasses on site by Ray - much much better than the other VSP farm out mass production quality. read more

If you're looking for your next pair of frames, look no further. Ray and Angelica will hook you up! In previous years, I would get my frames from another optometrist in Whittier. The optometrist was great. But guess what? His "not as great" opticians were selecting the wrong frame type and size for my head! So even though the prescription was accurate, I would end up with terrible results. My old glasses would never stay in the correct position as the day went on. And when glasses never stay in the correct position, you get distorted vision. So when I decided to visit this place, Ray quickly recognized what was going on. He was able to contour the frames to the shape of my head and customize them like never before. I was impressed how he was able to achieve such a custom fit.
