I ordered the Fall River Chow Mein (Brown sauce) through door dash. They sent me the New York Style Chow Mein (white sauce). I do not drive and I do not live close enough to walk and doordash only refunded me 2 dollars so I can't reorder. This is a needless mistake that could have been avoided. I stopped in for carry out for the first time. Very strange experience to say the least. As soon as I walked in it felt like a refrigerator inside. It was ice cold no heat at all. The lovely lady behind the counter had her big winter coat on and could barely hear me with the divider up. There was one other person getting a carry out. After I placed my order I was told to go in my car and wait for it with explanation as to why. Then while I was in my car two more cars pulled up and placed orders but no one came out to there cars to wait. They told me 15 min for my food which took half an hour to get. Then ai get home the food was ok not great. The steamed dumplings are very thick and doughy. Teriyaki beef skewers were ok, and the crab rangoon was soggy like they were microwaved. I ordered garlic chicken which had a thick glaze which I have never seen before and not spicy at all. The other entree was general Tao's chicken which was ok not great. Not sure if I will give them another chance family wasn't very impressed by the food. read more

2nd time ordering from them, shouldn't have given them a 2nd chance. Dumplings were very doughy tasting and had no flavor. Egg roll was doughy tasting, soaked in oil and full of only lettuce. Fried rice was crunchy similar to par boiled rice. Would not recommend and will never go back read more

This is my absolute favorite chinese restaurant. I found them about 1.5 years ago, and have been ordering a few times a month ever since. What I love about them is: Very nice family owned small business. The woman that runs it is super nice and accommodating, and always tries to give me freebies. 2. The food is fabulous and so delicious! 3. They give ginormous portions!!! 4. They are open very late. So this place is hit or miss. I got take out on new years and despite a 50 min wait, all the food was old. I don't know when to go to get fresh food and that's a problem. The owner is very nice and likes to give food for free sometimes. The place itself looks dirty and uninviting. It's really cold in there all the time and the front porch is like a step away from putting someone in the hospital. read more

Had a take out from Golden Palace, Sad to say it was disappointing. Egg roles were terrible. The egg role was raw (uncooked dough) on one side, it floated in the oil and only cooked on one side. The oil tasted like it was old and should have been changed days ago. Happy Family was unhappy, no shrimp. Chicken was mushy. Fried Rice not fresh and bland. I left a large tip, because I want to support local restaurants at this troubling times, but I have to be truthful. Decent portions and prices. Not a fan of their soups. Something just off about the flavor. I really enjoy the chicken and broccoli diet plate. Light sauce doesn't hide the flavor of the chicken, bean sprouts, crunchy and delicious, and white rice. Next time I am going to skip the rice and ask for extra sprouts instead. Beef Teryaki is the best. Full of flavor and not dried out. Crab Rangoon are tasty, but too crispy for my liking. Overall, good food and speedy delivery. read more

It took over an hour to cook the food. Then they waited an additional 30 minutes to tell me a door dash driver wasn't available. I asked if I could come pick it up. When I got there they told me someone came to get it. I then went back to my house to see that my order was 50% wrong. I can't make this up. This place is god awful and pays ZERO attention to detail. This place has sketched me out since the first time I saw it; I'll be completely honest in this review. I never had any interest in trying it regardless of its proximity. I would much rather hike into Providence for Shanghai. However, several locals -- including our UPS delivery guy -- swear by this place. So, much to my chagrin, I found myself heading down the street last night for some Chinese takeout. The interior (ok, and the exterior too) of this place is not impressive by any means. The floor was stained. The chairs and tables were wobbly. There was clutter everywhere. I could see right into the kitchen from the front counter, and it wasn't awful, but it was all shiny stainless either. This is definitely a takeout type of restaurant. I don't think many people actually eat there. I placed my order and sat down with the menu to wait. Golden Palace serves up your typical Chinese fare -- nothing special. While I waited, a girl came in and struck up a conversation with another woman waiting for her food (it seemed like her first time there too). The girl said her family has been going there for years, and it's great. Her sister, who now lives in Georgia, eats there every day when she comes up to visit. Kinda sad in my opinion; there are much better Chinese restaurants in the area. I probably waited about 20-30 minutes for my order, which was reasonably priced, even though I thought it would be cheaper. Back home, I dug in and was pleasantly surprised. It certainly wasn't the best Chinese I've ever had, but it was respectable (and I hate to say it, but I actually waited all night for the shoe to drop and to start feeling sick... never happened). The pork fried rice was probably my favorite of what we ordered, but the vegetable lo mein was tasty as well. The sweet and sour chicken was mostly fried batter more so than chicken, and the sauce didn't have any cherries in it! The crab rangoon was primarily cream cheese with crab flavoring. I think if I was desperate for an egg roll (which is an entirely plausible situation), I would run down the street to the Golden Palace, but if I really wanted a good Chinese food meal, I'd probably go a little farther to Shanghai in Providence, Mon Kou in Attleboro or Asia Grille in Lincoln. read more

A week or so ago my boyfriend and I had a get together and decided to treat our guests to some Chinese food. Out of habit we usually call Golden Ginger which is right down the road and delivers, but learned they are temporarily closed for renovations. We opted to try Golden Palace instead. The food is okay, definitely not the best Chinese I have ever had but pretty standard. The delivery tends to take awhile but the prices are pretty fantastic. We were able to feed 6 people and have plenty of left-over's for under $10 per person. Luckily, they deliver because I doubt I would ever eat inside. The outside of the restaurant is not very appealing. Overall, a decent place for Chinese if you're in a bind but not the best in the area. read more

I'm not your average chinese food lover. I normally eat the healthier less popular dishes and always order the hot and sour soup to compare to my standard. First time here today. Had the H&S soup and beef Mei Fun. 3 stars for taste and food quality. I sat and ate there, the service was good. The decor was pretty bad. Stopped in for a late lunch and what a pleasant surprise. These guys have the best dumplings! They were super accommodating and let us mix steamed and fried and even let us mix our apps. The sauce on the fall river chow mein was so delicately flavored, it was unbelievable. Everything was delicious. We will definately go back again. read more

I was really disappointed at the quality and taste of the food at the Golden Palace. They had a large menu and the food only took about 20 minutes to make but the flavor and quality was not there. The chicken chow mein was in a brown sauce with very little veggies and tons of overcooked, soggy short noodles. I have never seen anything like it. It was very salty and tasteless. The pork spareribs had a good flavor but had fat pockets all over them and some of them were very dry. The beef-on-a-stick was moist and the flavor of it was good but it tasted like it had been cooked with shrimp near it because it had a subtle shrimp flavor. It wasn't awful but the flavor was way off. The pork fried rice was also overcooked and on the soggy side. It was also very salty. The portions were huge and the employees were pleasant but the food wasn't good. Royal Panda down the street is much better. read more

Sauce dripping everywhere, all over the other containers, counters, floors. To keep sauce from dripping out of a styrofoam container apparently stapling it shut is the solution? Portions sucked. This is my Second post for this place and Hope it doesn't get Deleted!! Used to get take out here few years ago and never had an issue with their food. BUT---since most of us have had to rely on delivery services lately due to Covid--take out has been much to be desired! Especially here. Ordered 2 combo's and chow mein sandwiches. Well, the sandwiches had white bread--instead of hamburg buns (the norm), one combo had only Chicken and No Rice,No Eggroll??? Called them and said they would give me the right order at a later date? Umm don't think I want to pay another driver tip plus wanted dinner then not down the road! Plus after eating what I could had lower stomach issues! I was not imppressed at all. First time ordered based on reviews. However everyone that ate what I ordered said it was the worst. The chicken wings with Pu Pu platter had fried feathers sticking out all over...gross to even look at. The brown gravy with tHe egg fu yung was like paste. The general tso chicken tasted like it was a week old and reheated many times and the broccoli tasted weird like foreign. The tereyaki stick I spit out as it didn't taste like beef but chewy and weird. Absolutely nothing was fresh except the shirmp egg fu yong. I will never order food again here such a waste of $40 bucks!! Not to mention the cheap containers they come in don't close back!! No need any way cause it went n the trash. Im done!!! read more

After reading the reviews-- I felt a little nervous about ordering from here. I have to admit-- I'm glad that I gave it a try. I ordered general tsao's tofu, vegetable lo mein, spring rolls, and fries. Everything came out delicious! The tofu was cooked perfect and the general tsao's sauce was beyond amazing! This will be our new take out food place! PS: I also agree that they should make it more comfortable inside the establishment. My husband picked up the food and said the roof was leaking on him while he waited. read more
