I have rarely seen a town that was so polarized on which Chinese restaurant to eat at. It's like going to Philly and asking about cheese steak. Everyone is loyal to one of the three restaurants in town, and has a hatred for the other two. It's a bit crazy. I've eaten at two of the three so far. So far this is my favorite. It by far is better than anything I've had in Phoenix, and I'm happy to have found it. The service is always friendly, and the food is always fresh and flavorful. Prices are good, and I have yet to find a single flaw with the place. The hot and sour soup is one of the best I've ever had. The bbq pork is always moist and tender. It used to be my favorite place to go to for Chinese food. Today while I was doing my shopping and I called and asked for an order of pork fried rice and general tsp chicken. I live 30 minutes away from Hermiston, I was so excited when I got home that I was gonna eat my and the rice was white with some pieces of no veggies. Nothing. tasteles. Our family of five loved our experience. The little guys loved their cheeseburgers, but the older, wiser ones enjoyed the lo mein, yakisoba, and mandarin chicken. The fried rice had a great texture and the breading on the mandarin chicken wasn't too heavy and was really tender. And to top it off, our server was super nice and very attentive. read more

Remember when you were a kid and you went out to Chinese with your parents? Well, this is that place! Everything they make is fresh, hot and delicious. I've tried every Chinese restaurant in Hermiston and Pendleton and Golden Palace is miles ahead! My wife, who has never been a fan of Chinese, absolutely loves this place. They use such good ingredients, flavor everything to perfection and will feed you until you explode all over the wall. The staff is wonderful, the restaurant is clean and inviting and best of all, their prices are great! Your dollar goes so much further at Golden Palace than it does anywhere else. I eat here almost every time I'm in town. They have the best Kung Bo chicken dish out of the many Chinese restaurants I've been to. The Kung Bo chicken might be a little spicy or salty to some, but it's perfect to me. I order it other places and I'm always disappointed. Their BBQ pork also has the perfect glaze. I can't say how good the other dishes are, as I always come here just for this dish. The service is always good during the lunch time when I frequent this location and the lunch time prices are a great deal. Update 8/2017 : ownership I believed changed. They remodeled and now it's a lot cleaner, but they changed the way my favorite dish (Kung Bo Chicken) is made, and now it's similar to many other Chinese restaurants. I don't like it as much as before the change. They also increased the prices some and changed the look of the entire menu. It's no longer the cheapest and best Chinese around, it's just on par with many of the others. read more

Under new management! My family and I are here 8/4/17 and the food is fresh, delicious and decently priced with huge portions! My brother, mom, one of my kids and dad all got different combination plates and my husband and I got 3 main dishes for us and 2 of our other kids. My dad also bought a BBQ pork appetizer. The waitress did an amazing job at getting everything put in to the cook. The food tasted very fresh, and very good. No over cooked rice or deep fried food here. I will be back to enjoy Chinese food in hermiston with my family. read more

Yuck, last time I ate here I got a fork with old food stuck on it. I asked for another fork and she seemed so annoyed that I noticed it! I think it took about 10 minutes for a fork to be brought to me...and then to top it off there was stuff floating in my water from whatever the heck was at the bottom of the cup. There are a couple chinese restaurants in Hermiston, but Golden Palace has always been a family favorite. The portions are huge! The wait staff can be hit and miss, but mostly hit. If you're looking for take-out, then look no further! They always give several fortune cookies and lots of white rice, no matter if you're ordering 1 dish or 5. They have seating in the back for large groups and serve beer and wine, which I don't believe either of the other chinese food joints do. read more

As far as small town Chinese food it's a good place. The mandarin chicken is awesome, and the sauteed string beans are a favorite. They're always polite. I never eat in, always order and pick up. I just had a take out lunch from here for me and my husband. The first thing I noticed was on the phone the lady that took my order was extremely Snappy and rude. There obviously was not a language barrier at all and she still screwed up my order after I repeated it to her several times. So my husband shows up at home with two orders of noodles and only one orange chicken lunch special. I called her back to let her know that we got the wrong order and instead of saying sorry for the mix-up she repeatedly blamed me saying in a very rude way that she told me three times and I agreed to that order which is complete bologna. Based on her attitude alone I will never go back there again. The noodles were flavorless and the Very meager amount of pork that was put on my noodles was very dry, flavorless, and almost non-existent. The orange chicken was super super sweet and Soggy. almost like Panda Express but worse. My Eggroll was one massive greasy mess. The only thing that was halfway decent was the fried rice and that was also pretty flavorless. Bad attitudes, bad tasting food, slow service not going there ever again.
