It was such a lovely day so we had to experience the outdoor seating. It was so lovely... until a homeless person came and just sat at our bench... It would be nice if there were chains around the outdoor seating area for customers only. Because of this, we didn't feel comfortable enough to continue sitting there. Two stars for the outdoor seating, it wasn't their fault based on location. The food was okay. I really enjoyed wrapping my the chicken, beef, spice, veggies in the gyro bread (?). The rice is a bit bland and didn't go very well with the meat. The meat was mediocre. The hummus was honestly a bit too bitter for me. The hot sauce that was on the hummus was good. We ordered a FEW sundries from Golden Pockets to round out a dinner of leftovers recently. I've been aware of this place's presence for quite some time and finally arrived to an ideal time. We only ordered a few items: labneh, pita chips, fries, and falafel wrap. They labneh they provide is a MASSIVE portion. It's essentially one of those clear side-portion take out containers filled with thick, creamy, and smooth labneh. They top it with probably za'atar and another spice along with some olive oil. Once you get through the top layer with the seasoning, it's a bit bland. It's an excellent accompaniment to chips or pita though. The pita chips are some of the most crisp chips I've ever had in my life. These are no store-bought, from-the-bag pita chips. They definitely made this shit in house. They were for sure fried and very greasy, I might avoid if you have gallbladder issues. They include two small condiment containers of hummus which was pretty standard in quality. The fries were crispy and they provided a large portion. The falafel was just ok, I've had better elsewhere. The wrap included an aggressive amount of pickled vegetables which isn't my preference. Maybe some lettuce or israeli/arabic salad and tahini sauce? It wasn't my personal predilection but Tina enjoyed it. I'm curious about trying some of their platters but I'd skip the falafel wrap next time. I also would like to become better acquainted with their hummus. read more

We picked up a mixed platter from Golden Pockets. It was our first time. It was a lot of food and it was delicious, especially the pickled peppers/veggies. The only downside is that the rice is spicy (which I didn't even anticipate considering it is an Iraqi spot and their rice isn't usually spicy? ), and the food is definitely on the saltier side. I understand food needs salt to taste good, but everything in the platter was very salty. The pickled items were also salty so altogether it was too much salt. I went here one day randomly with a friend and we were very pleasantly surprised by not only how amazing the food was but how amazing the people who work here were. We've come back a bunch more times after that. These people are one of the most friendly people you'll meet and they'll treat you like family. Everything I've ordered from this place has been delicious. Their garlic sauce (toum) is amazing. I wish I could have a jar of it constantly with me at all times. I've been working in this part of Worcester for the past month now and while there are some cool dining options, very few restaurants are open on Monday and Tuesday around Kelly Square. Not sure why that it is, but it led me to try Golden Pockets and for that I am glad. I'm a big falafel fan, so when I find a really good example, it's always exciting. I go for the wraps. They're really good and stuffed full of tasty, fresh veggies, hummus, tabouleh, and pickles. The falafel has a nice crunch to it on the outside and is flavorful. I'd like to try everything on the menu, but the falafel is sooo good. I did try the shawarma beef last time and it was also delicious. The baklava is amazing as well. For those not in to middle-eastern cuisine, they also do burgers and fries which are probably good too. Drink selection is just your typical coke products along with a yogurt drink of some sort which my friend tried and did not recommend. My coworker, a vegetarian, has also gotten the falafel plate which was a lot of food, and the grape leaves which he loved. The pricing is very fair. It might be the best deal in the area. Service has been quick and friendly. The restaurant seems clean. Half of the building is set up as a bar which is closed whenever we're there at lunchtime. Highly recommended! read more

We had called about 10 minutes prior to put our order in, however when we walked in they kindly told us that they make it fresh to order so that it doesn't get cold. It was really filling for one person and delicious, however the only reason I gave it 4 star was because when they threw it on the grill they put a lot of oil as you can see in the photo! I've been here twice now and love it! I got the falafel wrap both times - packed with flavor - so good! Also a huge portion size, so you get a great bang for your buck!! The price is comparable if not cheaper with other nearby options that sell the same item, and it's way bigger (and better in my opinion). The food in general also lacks seasoning and taste, especially with their meat. When I went to pick up my food, I was put off to see that the guy beyond the counter preparing plates was using rice that was frozen from a freezer and just heating it up. If I wanted microwaved food I would have saved the trip and just made it myself. Shawarma Palace and Bay State Shawarma which is just a couple doors down are the places to go for elite food for the same price. The good: their "plates": Shawarma, kofta, combo etc.) -Your entree (choice of meat and rice) comes with a side of hummus, salad and pita bread. This is awesome in comparison to a place called Grill 352 (362? I always get mixed up with the numbers, haha) that does not have all these extras with their entrees but costs about the same. (Perhaps a bit more) The not so good: The apps. Only tried the pita chips and labneh but both were not so good. The labneh had a lot in terms of quantity and I would expect this given it cost $5.99 HOWEVER: it was so bland!! They had just seasoned the top and it was not enough The pita chips cost $3.99 and they had a decent quantity, again which I would expect given the price but it just got boring after a while...
