I'd never really had Syrian food before, and I was blown away by the flavors and portion sizes. I ordered both the whole chicken plate and a muhmmara pie, and I had enough food for probably 3 meals! Keep in mind that if you order the whole chicken plate, you need to place your order at least 45 minutes in advance for them to prepare it, but it's 1000% worth it. Whole Chicken Plate - I think this is actually a Cornish game hen rather than a really small chicken, and it was so perfectly juicy and fresh tasting. Ordering takeout chicken is especially risky of being dry, but this was juicy and cooked to perfection. The spices on the chicken had just the right amount of kick, and the nuts and the rice were seasoned perfectly. I'd eat just the rice without the meat too - it was that good! Side of Mutabal - I had never had this before, but it was so so so so good! It had a sort of creamy texture to it (maybe yogurt?) and it was so rich and satisfying. I'm also a fan of baba ganoush but this takes eggplant to another level - I'm going to have to order this again and again and even look up a recipe to make at home. Absolutely recommend this gem of a side! Muhmmara pie - This was the one dish that was just okay - the pepper paste was good, but I was expecting a different kind of carb wrapping - the photos I'd seen look a bit different - this was more of a pita with the pepper spread on it and folded in half. I'd like to try again to see if it's the same thing as the other pictures on yelp or if perhaps the "pie" part of this was just different this particular day. All in all though, this was a solid 5/5. I had a truly memorable meal at Fattoush many years ago and I was very excited to return for some take-out. Unfortunately, this latest meal was simply terrible. I remembered previously ordering a Chicken Shawarma Plate. That is now in the "Specialties" section of the menu and that's what I ordered expecting to get the same plate of delicious chicken, rice, salad and hummus. I was shocked that this $20 "Specialty" consisted of a dry chicken wrap, french fries, some sort of yogurt dip and AWFUL, salty pickled vegetables. The fries were good but you don't go to a specialty Mediterranean place to get fries with a meal described as a plate. Apparently, you can no longer get a true plate of chicken shawarma with rice here. I do plan to return again some day and try the Kofta Kebab or Mixed Grill Plate from the "Entree" section since these still come with rice but everyone should be avoiding the "Specialties" plates as these are poorly executed and severely overpriced. Regardless of what you are ordering, I would highly recommend calling in your order to confirm exactly what you are going to get with your order since the online menus have no details whatsoever. read more

I visited Fattoush this afternoon for take out. The food was cooked, packed and I was out the door in 15 minutes! The food was fantastic. From the kofta beef to the chicken kabob, all spiced and seasoned excellent and had a wonderful char on it that made it taste so fresh! The rice had great seasoning which paired well with the small side salad which included cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and topped with a refreshing dressing that wasn't too pungent. The cherry on the top was the sauces, the Greek yogurt dip and the tahini tasted homemade and a perfect addition to the meat! We will definitely be back soon! read more

Been meaning to try Fattoush for a while now, and when I did it did not disappoint! I ordered a chicken shawarma for takeout on a Saturday night. It was ready in 20 minutes. The restaurant has seating and parking if you choose to dine in. Very casual place. As for the wrap, it was a skinny but PACKED wrap, which left me full. Very tasty and seasoned well. The hummos is really good. The rest of the food we tried was okay. The falafel itself was not so good. Not enough parsley or cilantro and not much flavor. The flavor came from salty pickles in the sandwich. I had a stomach ache after having it. My husband got a mixed grill that was okay. The service was not great, which is unusual for a Syrian restaurant. Our waiter was on his phone a lot and just not warm at all. None of the workers there were warm. It was weird. Service and ambiance were great. Place was clean and they were very friendly. They were busy around 2:00 on a Sunday afternoon. This was a takeout order as we were on a road trip. We got the seasoned fries and they had very little seasoning and were pretty limp. I guess I was expecting the kind of battered seasoned fries you get at some places & this was not that and the fries were not crispy at all. My husband LOVES pita bread but he was disappointed by the side of pita we bought. He thought they were just too thin/flimsy & would not hold up to dipping-luckily they were only $0.65. We split the Shish Fakhara & Port Saiid entrees & they were both really tasty. I especially liked the Shish Fakhara. They both came with rice & we ate both entrees over the rice. I also got their pickled veggies & they were SO good, especially the pickled cucumbers and whatever the red veggies are! I also got a side of their garlic sauce because I love garlic sauce, & it was pretty good. It was $4.00 but you get a good amount. We also both got their Polo frozen mint lemonade drink which was really refreshing & tasty, but you best like mint because it was a strong mint flavor-which I love. What I didn't love is about a 1/4 way through I just kept getting so much pulp I just sadly quit drinking it. We greatly appreciated the mainly eco friendly takeout boxes. They did have the silver bottoms with plastic tops for the "soupier" items, but they also used the cardboard ones. I will say I think the cardboard did no favors for the fries as they were sitting in a sweaty box with no airflow, but I still prefer and appreciate cardboard over styrofoam. Tried fattoush for the first time last night and enjoyed it a lot! I ordered the polo drink and it was great, very refreshing and sour, they must have used sweet mint because it wasn't too minty which I liked. I ordered the hummus which was very good and came with a lot of pita, I could taste the tahini which gave it a complex flavor palate. I also ordered the fattoush salad and it was good, the best part was the dressing. For my main meal I got the shawarma plate and it had a lot of flavor! The more I ate the more I liked it it was nicely seasoned and had pickles inside which was a nice way to cut the flavor of the meat. It was also a very large portion that came with hummus, fries, and more pickles. I would definitely go here again it was a chill ambiance with good service. read more

The Fattoush salad is so good it should be illegal, and the kebabs are so tender they practically apologize before you eat them. But here's the thing: it's also a bakery. A bakery with so many glorious pastries that I now have a serious internal conflict every time I visit. My brain says, "Get the healthy salad!" but my taste buds scream, "NO! Get the baklava! And the knafeh! And maybe a whole tray of maamoul for the road!" I've been eager to try Fattoush as I am a big fan of middle eastern-Mediterranean cuisine. We stopped in around 7:15pm on a Saturday night and were promptly seated in a fairly empty restaurant, though the dining room quickly filled up after we arrived. We started with an order of hummus and pita. The hummus was very good, as it was smooth and creamy, with pronounced tahini flavor. Forget that supermarket stuff...this is how hummus should be! Unfortunately, it was accompanied by thin, dry pita, that was oddly served in a plastic bag as if prepared for takeout. We shared a Sampler Platter and Shish Tawook. Both of the skinny grape leaves and meat and pumpkin kibbeh had nice flavor and texture. We preferred those to the mild sambousek and grilled kibbeh, which had a very fatty lamb flavor. We were glad to try a variety, but next time I'd stick to the kibbeh and grape leaves. All of the appetizers were enhanced by dipping in the hummus, so highly recommend getting at least one accompanying dip. The Shish Tawook was flavorful, but not spicy. A few pieces were dry though, and again, without any provided tahini, z'houg or garlic sauce, the hummus was necessary to complete the dish. The atmosphere is hard to describe. It is a step up from a counter service chain restaurant, as there is table service. But, water is only available in plastic bottles for sale, and the only drink options are cans/bottles (no glasses on table). It is very kid friendly...perhaps an understatement...even at 8:00pm on a Saturday night, noisy kids being ignored by their parents were blaring iPhones, etc. Certainly not the dining table etiquette our family practices, so just set your expectations accordingly. They do seem to do a significant takeout business, which might be the way to go. It's also a bit odd that they automatically charge a 3% credit card convenience fee without even asking how you will be paying. I'll likely return to try a shawarma sandwich or something, as they seem better suited for a grab and go casual set up, though the prices are more reflective of a full service dining experience. read more

When we left, the first order posted to the first credit card and when we disputed it, the restaurant submitted the first receipt despite claiming they never received it. Food came out about an hour after placing the order. Asked for take out containers and check and another 30 minutes have gone by without attention. With an average five star review on Yelp, and the rarity of Syrian restaurants in Connecticut, I popped into Fattoush Grill & Bakery on my way back from a conference to select something to take home. The thoughtfully organized menu with photos and ingredients of each dish made selection less overwhelming. The service is friendly -- I was given a gratis warm and crisp meat kibbeh to taste before I embarked on the two and a half hour drive home. This was spectacular in appearance, texture, and taste. I ordered the Maza sampler, which included familiar dips, as well as several I had never encountered before. The platter is so colorful, with a range of flavors, from refreshing labneh to spicy muhammara. I look forward to returning whenever I drive through Massachusetts! I was in the mood for Mediterranean and have long wanted to try Fattoush. Our plans changed last minute so we worried we might not be able to get a table on a Saturday night. However, we were seated right away and beat a 7:30pm rush. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. We decided to share some dishes- the hummus, sampler platter appetizer, and shish tawook at our server's suggestion. The food came out promptly and we were glad we had the hummus to tie all the flavors together. I wish I had seen the option for fresh Syrian bread instead of the triangles of thin pita that were served in a plastic baggie along with the hummus plate. I enjoyed the pumpkin kibbeh the best on the sampler platter. The meat sambousek felt a little bland compared to the other flavors. The chicken shish was flavorful and a nice mix of char and juiciness. The rice it was over was not very seasoned and I found myself dipping the chicken into the hummus for additional flavor. One disappointing thing was the lack of a tap water option, as we were told there was "no filter" for that. The food was salty and I drink a lot of water, so to have to buy bottled water or soda was a bit annoying. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and clean. Two large screen tvs in the restaurant were showing different things- screen saver and mediation-type music - and I could hear both from where I was sitting which was a little weird but not bad. My biggest complaint about the experience was no fault of the establishment. We were on a kid-free evening and were surrounded by families with small children- some of whom were loud and watching their parents' phones at high volume. In addition, they all seemed to be coughing and by the end of our meal, I started to get skeeved out. This is a super delicious and very authentic middle eastern restaurant. We got a variety of appetizers and 3 mains to share, family style with 5 people. Some highlights: the hummus was creamy and very authentic, the foul madamas was maybe the best I've ever had. In The mixed grill, the chicken was moist and flavorful, the kafta was also very flavorful. The most interesting dish was probably the pumpkin kibbeh. I've never had a vegetarian kibbeh, but now I want this all the time, pumpkin, spinach and some spices. Yummy! If there was a negative review, I would go with that. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE. My family got sick after we had their chicken shish and when I called them to report this, the owner Ahmad who thinks he's smart but that's a misconception on his part started blaming me that I am just making excuses about the whole food poisoning issue and the reasoning given by him was hilarious - He said that when I paid for this take out food, I used my CORPORATE card and split it between two payments which I did split, but the corporate side is not true and the splitting is my wish and what I want to do and then he started saying that I want free food so I am making this food poisoning story up so the restaurant can refund my corporate card and then I can pocket that money and also get reimbursed from my employer. I don't know where does he even get this thought from unless he has done something like this himself in the past, he definitely did that's why he's thinking that far out. Firstly, how does he even know if I have a corporate card? This makes no sense. He completely deviated from what the original issue here was and started accusing me and then said I will contact your employer and report this as a corporate credit card fraud. Go get yourself a life. He has been harassing me over text since then. He's been very sneaky and trying to find out more info on me and trying to use that against me to threaten me. Here are his text messages to me trying to bully and harass me thinking this would freak me out. Guys you definitely don't want to deal with a bully like him. The food is above average for Arabic food in the area. Tastes very homemade and they are not just catering to Western palates. Prices are quite reasoanble for the quality and quantity. Petty much no ambience - and a soccer game was playing loudly on one of the overhead TVs -like in a sports bar. Pita was dry and thin- although they do bake fresh Syrian bread for a little extra. We asked for water and they gave us bottles vs tap. A no-no. And a can of soda was deposited at the opposite end of the table unaccompanied by a glass. (although there was a straw.) ‼Please think twice if you order here. I had an awful experience with Fattoush Grill & Bakery in Northborough, MA. I ordered 10 boxes of dessert through UberEats, but they only sent 6 boxes -- that's 4 boxes missing despite the receipt clearly showing the correct order. When we called to report the issue, the staff's response was incredibly unprofessional. First, the guy claimed, "We're closed, we left, we can't do anything now." Yet their listed closing time is 8 PM, and we called well before that -- so why were they refusing to help? Then he changed his story, saying, "We had a buffet today." If they were "closed," how were they still running a buffet? It felt like they were just making excuses and avoiding responsibility. Instead of offering a solution, all they kept saying was, "We can't, we can't," followed by, "We forgot." To make things worse, they still haven't refunded the $32 for the missing boxes or any of the service and delivery fees. If someone else buys food for you (like a gift or group order), it's even harder to know if items are missing until much later -- making their careless mistake even more frustrating. This was such a terrible experience -- careless service, no accountability, and zero effort to fix their mistake.
