Aladdin is one of the few places in the area that serves mediterranean food, as far as I know. I felt like going against the grain of our usual asian vs italian vs american food delivery that we usually do and try to spice things up a little with some falafel and hummus. Enter Aladdin. Their menu includes appetizers, sandwiches, and platters. The appetizer menu has the usuals like fries and wings with some ethnic extras like samosas and hummus. Sandwich menu has many kebabs, shawarma, with vegetarian options like falafel and veggie mix. They also have a menu where you can get most of the sandwiches in platter form. I ordered the Iraqi famous veggie mix meal and Tina threw down a falafel sandwich. We added an order of fries and samosas. Their hummus is amazing. Closest I've had to authentic hummus in a long time. I didn't order a side order and I deeply regret it. Tempted to order delivery from here again just so I can order that hummus and bathe in it. The falafel is also very good. I have come across a wide variety of falafel textures and this one is more along the lines of floury rather than chickpea/grainy. They were crisp on the outside and hearty on the inside. They tasted excellent. Regarding the Iraqi famous veggie mix meal, the menu states "falafel, hand cut fried potatoes, eggplant, and samosa, comes with hummus, baba ganoush, and amba". What I actually received was a bunch of falafel, eggplant, a little container of hummus, iceberg lettuce, tomato, pickles, and banana peppers. There were zero "hand cut fried potatoes", no samosas, no baba ganoush, and no amba. Disappointing. Tina's falafel sandwich was also supposed to have "special sauce and amba or hummus". There was no sauce. Otherwise, the sandwich looked amazing. The samosas we received with our order of the appetizer were really good and stuffed with potato filling. They also included a few pieces of their Iraqi bread which was HUGE, soft, warm, and perfect to dip into the hummus. If you're in need of bread, I'd order their side of this bread which comes with 10 pieces. The prices were very reasonable but I wish they were more accurate with the menu. read more

Why didnt i get here earlier? I am livid with myself that i have been ignoring the 10 mins walk for so long. Finally went here and wow it is good. Well, now i have another reason to come to office. Ordered the chicken kabab meal and boy the chicken was juicy. It was grilled fresh however it did come out of the refrigerator so initially i was a bit skeptical. The hummus was another gem. Now i want to try their babaghanoush and the falafel. judging( yeah totally) by the taste of the hummus and sure the other stuff is going to be great. The reviews of this restaurant are accurate! I finally got around to visiting Alladin today and my boyfriend and we are so glad we did! Excellent value and really tasty food! My guy got a chicken shwarma sandwich and I got the falafel sandwich. His was absolutely loaded with meat, and the style of bread really holds up with all those filings (meat, pickles, lto). I had never tried this Iraqi style bread before and I think it's pretty much perfect for sandwiches (hearty on the outside but not tough to bite into, soft and airy on the inside). As for my falafel, they were warm and had a nice crispy texture when I bit into them (topped with amba sauce, pickles, lettuce and onions). This was some of the best falafel I have had in a while. We ordered a side of hummus too, which was pretty good, but should have ordered something to dip in it (bread or chips perhaps) - it didn't come with any, but that's our mistake. So glad to have more than one option for Middle Eastern food on this side of the city! We will definitely be trying more things from this menu in the future. read more

I have to tell you this was the worst food experience I have ever had in my life. First of all the place is extremely dirty. It looks like nothing has been cleaned in years. The food it tasted like chemicals and like it was stale and had been sitting out for long. After reading other reviews I saw that some people actually found mold growing in their food and I puked after eating this. Let's get one thing out of the way, Aladdin's has the best falafel in Worcester. The storefront small and unassuming aside from the brilliant blue awning above it. Inside, visually it's much the same thing, a small space with a few few tables and chairs and a counter to order at. On the olfactory side of things, the interior is a much more stimulating place. First thing you smell is the fresh baked samoon bread, mingled with the smell of middle eastern spices. The menu is very basic, you can have falafel, shwarma, kebabs or a burger and fries. The falafel sandwich is where it's at, and yes it's a sandwich, no pita in sight. The restaurant sticks to it's Iraqi roots and serves the falafel and all it's delicious and fresh trimmings(picked veggies and peppers, letuce and tomato and smokey hot sauce) in delicious, fresh baked samoon bread. The bread is soft and pillowy and perfectly baked, unlike the reheated pita's, which end up chewy and tough, that most middle eastern places serve their falafels in. The falafels are perfectly seasoned and cooked, no dry and crumbly cakes of flavorless chickpeas here, and they have a soft and moist interior around a thin crispy crust. At $3 for the falafel sandwich, Aladdin's punches way above it's weight when it comes to bang for the buck in middle eastern food in Worcester. The staff are friendly and were happy to explain to me all the menu items and the nuances of the Iraqi versions of the dishes that they serve. I'm pretty sure this is the best shawarma that I've had in Worcesteter. No offense to my other favorite shawarma palace. But this place is probably different than other places that you have been to. It is Iraqi style. This means they do not serve rice but serve it on freshly made Iraqi style bread. So good and soft with veggies. This place is fantastic. The two guys working here are incredibly friendly - the service was top notch. As soon as we ordered and sat down they put out hummus and bread so fresh from the oven it was steaming!!! The food is incredible - fast and delicious! I'm sitting here eating leftovers the next day and still in love with the taste (the portions are big and reheat really well, FYI). My group of four friends shared the Beef Kabob, Beef Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, and Veggie combo - we loved everything! The donut shaped falafel was especially good. Our first time at this restaurant. Thought we'd try a different middle eastern place than the ones we are used to in the Worcester area. When we arrived around 7pm my first instinct was to turn around and leave. The place looked dirty. My husband convinced me to give it a try since this place got many good reviews online. We ordered the falafel sandwich and chicken shawarma sandwich. The bread was the only good part of the sandwich (according to my husband; I did not eat either sandwich after what I witnessed). The falafel was disgusting he said. It was chewy and soggy and tasted nothing like falafel. The very nice gentleman who was making our sandwich got the hummus from the fridge to put in the falafel sandwich. I noticed two white globs of fungus growing on top of the hummus. I asked him what that was and he said it was "flour". It was definitely not flour. It looked like white fungus for sure. Flour is not added to hummus during or after preparation. I was totally grossed out. The chicken shawarma was not shawarma. It was chicken cubes that he cut up and fried. It wasn't from a spit and tasted very bland. He barely put any lettuce, tomato and onion in either sandwich. And there was no other sauce like a garlic sauce or tahini added to the chicken or falafel. Lastly, the area where he was making the sandwiches was not clean. I should have trusted my instinct. I did not eat the sandwiches but my husband took a couple of bites from each sandwich and threw them away. Don't waste your money here. Let me tell everybody very clearly so it saves them money and time! Never go to this place unless you are dying of hunger and no other food place exists. I went there 5 min ago tonight on Dec 13 2019. I ordered 1 chicken shawarma and 1 halal burger. I was skeptical of the place when i went in because it was dead. I wanted to try it anyways because there is a first time for everything. The halal burger for $5 came in a very weird bread instead of a common and regular burger bun. Even the halal burger picture they advertised on the menu had a picture of a burger in a bun! I assumed i would get a burger in a bun theres no point of asking when you know how your food is going to look like. Nevertheless, i went ahead to eat the food because i am a Muslim and the owner also seemed like a Muslim so i didn't complain. The burger patty was a frozen nastiness. The owner also told me when i was ordering that if i didn't like the food i don't have to pay. At the end i went up to the counter and i told the owner that the halal burger was not good at all for few reasons. I ate it out of respect. He still charged me for the burger that in the picture was in a burger bun with sesame seeds on top which i did not get. I got some Iraqi bread like a gyro. The bread was ok. The chicken shawarma also smelled and was overpriced already at $11. The owner asked me if i wanted a meal i said yes. I assumed for $11 fries and drink will be included. But no he charged me $11 for chicken shawarma and $3 for fries and $5 for the shittiest kind of burger that was not what was advertised. Avoid this place. Instead go to Bahnaans bakery which is right next to it and if you drive down a little there is shawarma palace which are 100 times better and reasonably priced. read more

Traveling through Worcester to Boston we decided to stop for lunch. We are always in pursuit of great falafel and took a chance and stopped at a restaurant we knew nothing about. We read no reviews, just let MapQuest get us there. Evidently we have great intuition! What a gem! Not only was the owner friendly and let us taste things (such as an incredible turmeric spiced sauce) as he built our falafel sandwiches on homemade in-house bread, but the food was delicious and very affordable. As we sat and ate, we watched numerous locals come in and out, purchasing the pita bread. He's known throughout the region for this authentic Iraqi pita bread.
